Previous thread

And I shouldn't have to say this anymore but will do so for any newbies - let's keep our critiquing to the clothes and not the women wearing them.

Meghan looks great today. I think it really goes to show when she dresses as she is comfortable 'off duty' she is fab. I think it's trying to fit into some royal stereotype it goes a bit wrong. Agree with a pp I think she would be best sticking to her style screw the probably non existent 'royal rules'.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 19/02/2019 22:27

I am ridiculously pleased at how great Meghan looks in that gorgeous little coat!

LaurenOrdering · 19/02/2019 22:50

Meghan does look fab, we need to see more of this Park Avenue Princess look.

Becles · 19/02/2019 23:33

I love the way the daily mail never fails to get a pop in about Meghan

Her nails appeared to be painted with a subtle sheer pink shade - a much more low-key polish option than some of the darker, bolder colours she has been known to model, despite royal traditions suggesting that only the most subtle of nude shades should be worn.

Paradyning · 20/02/2019 05:05

God they are prickish aren't they.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 20/02/2019 06:20

Her hair looks amazing

VanillaSugarr · 20/02/2019 06:24

Right...... so it’s OK for Zara Phillips (as was) to get a tongue stud, but not OK for Meghan to wear a temporary dark nail polish Hmm

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 06:51

Even the seemingly innocuous article on their Morocco itinerary attracted horrible comments. It's quite telling that the worst rated are ones that are supportive of Meghan while the best rated tear her to pieces.

Meanwhile Kate wearing two questionable (not to mention expensive!) designers last week was completely ignored. Had it been the other way around the DM would've absolutely had it in for Meghan.

OP posts:
AnnaMagnani · 20/02/2019 07:46

Some of the comments are idiotic. I read a comments with 128 likes on her baby shower article why, if these were her close friends, she hadn't invited them to her wedding?

Er, she did????

Anyways, she looked amazing in that vintage coat. Loved it.

Notmyrealname855 · 20/02/2019 07:46

Did any news outlet pick up on the two bad designers point?

Anyway... I’m sorry but I don’t think we should get in to discussing the DM or their commentators. It’s such low brow stuff and they live in their own little sad world, I don’t think anyone on these boards would support their statements. You end up just staring into the abyss and it’ll drive you crazy. It’s like fighting with a pig (or whatever the phrase is).

I will say this, I bet MM enjoys the freedom! Imagine being in NY and free as a bird compared to at home surrounded by traditionalists. Though it must be sad as it seems she’d never be able to be incognito in a big city again. I would have arranged the get together somewhere rural for some privacy, and it’s not like they can go out and about in NY anyway so what’s the point.

Anyway back to fashion...

eastwestnorth · 20/02/2019 07:49

They are particularly vicious about Meghan, but the approval of Kate is only since Meghan came on the scene.
I confess to reading the DM comments when looking at the photos - they always seemed to have the best photos - and there would be a stream of criticism of Kate, her clothes, her smile, her looks, her lack of a proper job, her pushy mother etc and a very occasional comment, usually from abroad, asking why the endless criticism.
It's frightening that such fickle people have the vote!
Anyway, Meghan looks great in her outfit.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 07:50

I'm actually very tempted by Meghan's sunglasses as I've been looking for a pair like that. They're only £45 and I need a new pair so...

EmGee · 20/02/2019 08:28

Meghan looks fab - love the coat. No idea if Audrey Hepburn wore anything like that, but when I saw the photo, she sprang to mind!

Mmmhmmokdear · 20/02/2019 08:40

Loving the coat and loving that it's vintage. Time for a "Thrifty Meghan" article DM? No?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/02/2019 09:02

Meghan baby shower article in DM
Even by dm standards, posting pics of random people who happen to be staying at the hotel... [confiused]

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/02/2019 09:05

interesting articles about lfw on Clarence House website

Like Camilla’s rewear. It’s one of my fave outfits of hers....

VanillaSugarr · 20/02/2019 09:18

Where are the sunglasses from? I cba tonread the full article.

BlingLoving · 20/02/2019 09:20

I just watched the video of her at the hotel. I found it a bit chilling actually. People.calling her with no emotion in their voices at all. Yuck.

banivani · 20/02/2019 09:22

kedgeree (and a PP) - you confirm my suspicions that Diana was far more impactful IRL than I can glean from photos. And yes, her complexion was beautiful, which come to think of it is a little surprising given that she came from a tanning generation!

I'll give you another Swedish link to 37 royal dresses, mostly Swedes but all over Europe. www.svenskdam.se/kungligt/37-kungliga-galaklanningar-vi-aldrig-glommer/#&gid=1&pid=1 Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 09:38

@VanillaSugarr the sunglasses are by Le Specs and available on Net-a-Porter and Matches. Still debating whether to get them. They're not expensive but I do lose or break and pair of sunglasses every summer!

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 09:44

So weird of even the Mail to be printing photos of random hotel guests!

Abigail Spencer who is pictured accompanying Meghan was the wedding guest in the much-admired navy spotted dress that Kate later wore for Prince Charles' 70th birthday photos.

OP posts:
beanaseireann · 20/02/2019 09:46

Meghan could make it to the States heavily pregnant for her baby shower yet couldn't make it to the States pre engagement/wedding with Harry to meet her "beloved" father ?
Odd.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 09:48

Thanks @banivani, some great dresses there.

By the way, I've heard CP Victoria suffers from face blindness. Do you know if that's actually true? That must be really difficult when a huge part of your job consists of constantly meeting people.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 20/02/2019 09:49

@beanaseireann I think we've established that he's not particularly beloved. I can't believe that his current behaviour is a new thing.
