I agree with QueenoftheAndals. Sofia looks more like Silvia than her two daughters do.

I see from twitter it's Prince Andrew's birthday today. He shares it with my DC!

I met Diana several times in 1987/88. She was truly beautiful, perfect skin ( she used to blush so easily, English rose complexion), and her height and elegance was unforgettable. I met her on official duties and was always struck by her complete professionalism, I had no idea at the time of her private unhappiness.

@banivani I agree with much of what you said about Diana.

I was young in the 80s and to me she just looked middle aged, flouncy and frumpy. When I look back at photos of her now, I still think I was right!

I also think she was probably a bit of a screaming nightmare, and I have a hard time imagining her being around Kate and Meghan now.

I guess she must have had more of an 'in person' sort of effect!

I think Diana had charisma and you can’t fake that

I’d guess she was genuinely interested in people - it seemed to come across when she was chatting to them, and in her interests (arranging secret visits etc). She also seemed quite modest/non-nonsense about her looks and didn’t mind laughing at herself... I mean this is total guesswork but that’s all we can do :) Also she was so young when she started out, so maybe people just took a liking to helping her out

Poor Karl :( apparently he fell foul of the royals! He did have a critical voice sometimes, sometimes ok and sometimes just mean. Great vision, and pretty much amazingly consistent in creating great looks

I was at close quarters with Diana on a few occasions in the late 80s, public and private. She was absolutely stunning in real life, photographs do not do her justice. She was very tall (she was always said to be 5'10 but I reckon she was 6ft), amazing complexion and megawatt star power.
I can't say I was a fan of hers as such, but there was no denying her physical impact.

She does look amazing and should adopt that movie star out and out glamour look at work. She attracts so much criticism anyway, she may as well look a million dollars while she's at it .

She looks amazing in clothes that fit properly!! Wish she would go Hollywood glam more often obviously people will say oohhh she is a duchess not a movie star but they have had so many pops at her already she should just say who cares and glam it up.

Yes Meghan looks good, don’t know if it’s the angle of the photo but she looks so tiny height wise and she is wearing heels, she looks Kylie proportions.
