@soups glad to hear your finding ways to help your daughter embrace her curls. Having ASD is enough of a challenge and girls have a difficult enough time with self image as they develop. You might like to order her the curly girl handbook which is full of good advice and might help her feel that her curls are special and not just something else to make her feel different.

@cherries, get you and your perky new boobs!

NotAnActualSheep · 01/03/2019 14:08

Thanks for the comments on the pinafore never, soups and huff - yes, it's a toast one Blush but the seller had had it shortened, which actually works really well for me. But I think I got it right at the end of the heatwave, and then I got engrossed in the hush autumn stuff. I'm so rubbish... I really like it though for this time of year when I can still wear tights, but don't need anything else too warm.

Yes - the "mountain" is Arthurs seat laska - it's actually rather nice today, but a bit hazy. There was a big gorse fire there earlier in the week though, and I wonder if that is why it may be like that..all the particles still in the air? Was rubbish yesterday, though, so it must just be swapping between east and west!

What a palaver with the exercise bike never... hope they come soon or we'll send ella's DDog round to the supplier for a revengepoo

Loving the photos - you look brill huff - can totally see why you kept the skirt Grin. I also really like the santana on you with that top and the trainers - v chic. The culottes are nice - but are they a bit long? That may solve the too-much-material dilemma? I got some in the summer sale and they are lovely and swishy. Looking forward to wearing them this year too, cos i loved them... Like the chinos too - and I'd keep them if they feel nice on, but they don't really jump out at me as as lovely as the others tbh (sorry!). Glad the topshop jeans work! never - I do like the insect skirt a lot. I'm a bit of a sucker for a maxi skirt.

And *cherries - I'm sooo happy for you Grin. At least you can now see what you're suffering for - which must make it feel a bit better!

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:08

cherries that sounds great, what a success! Will you be buying a new bikini this summer? Smile

huff love your new purchases, you look fab!

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:10

I've been considering the wide jersey tops for a while, they are popular on here. But they seem v expensive for essentially a long sleeved jersey top. Are they worth the money?

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:12

Thank you whisky, I might get her the book. You are so right about self image, I've noticed she's using the word 'ugly' a lot to describe photos of her and of her clothes. Parenting her is so hard. She was only diagnosed last summer so it's early days and I am learning a lot but I make so many mistakes. And when I apologise to her she says I'll just do it again which breaks my heart Sad I feel constantly guilty, sometimes I want to turn the clock back and start the parenting thing all over again.

Ellapaella · 01/03/2019 14:14

Huff I love the denim skirt and the Bryce culottes, also love that white t shirt is nice, is it Hush?
Never love the skirt, I haven't ordered the minty green top yet, just the trainers which I love. Am saving my pennies for a pre Rome shopping trip.
Not love the pinafore dress.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 14:19

@soups, they are basic but they are very very useful :) I have worn all three of mine loads.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 14:21

I found shopping in Italy [ esp for clothes] a bit rubbish. Better choice here @ella. Not sure about Rome. I only went there once briefly to stay overnight.

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:22

Thank you never what colours do you have them in? I might consider the grey.

whiskyremorse · 01/03/2019 14:23

@soups you're doing the best you can. I work with people with LD and autism, and female autism is ofter diagnosed late, often in 20s and 30s so at least you have a head start on that!

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:23

Wonder if there is anything left in the Hush sale worth having? I like the Sintra shirt in both colours. I wish Hush would remove items that have sold out, I clicked on the metallic trim tee and it's sold out in all sizes!

whiskyremorse · 01/03/2019 14:28

I have realised that I have been busy talking about everything except for Hush, so to rectify today I am working from home and have on a black wide neck top (sample sale) black dyed stripy aimees (Brand Alley), grey Sabrina card (eBay) and constellation scarf (sale). It's nice to know that Hush consider me a friend despite my bargain hunting lol.
And yes I love the wide neck tops. I have to wear something under the v neck as it is a bit low for me but wear this and the green round neck a lot. They are really well cut and slouchy, wash well (in a laundry bag like all Hush).

twosoups1972 · 01/03/2019 14:28

That's true whisky thank you

Ellapaella · 01/03/2019 14:33

Oh yes I'll be shopping here before I go never. Can't imagine I'll be able to afford much in Rome anyway.. it's my 40th birthday just before I go so I may treat myself to an Italian leather handbag or a good pair of sunglasses but clothes I'll be buying here. DH will not want to spend our time traipsing around clothes shops with me (he's the total opposite of me and has very little interest in clothes).

dontcallmelen · 01/03/2019 14:40

Soups I think many parents would love the chance to be able parent all over again mine are much older than yours, but especially since dgd cane along I wish I knew then what I know & do now with her. We are always learning 💐& yy what Whiskey says very very common for girls to diagnosed much later, which hopefully gives you all more time to find out what approach works.
Can’t keep with all the purchases & pics, but all look & sound great.
Cherries still ouch & wow definitely new summer tops & swimwear.
Ella hope you are feeling better day by day, I haven’t been to Rome but found shoe shopping in Italy really good, also leather.
never 😡 hate that sort of stress when you are trying to sort out faulty stuff.
Looks like I’m back on my bench, with no company at the moment stuffs biscuits & necks alcohol too drown sorrows 😂

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2019 14:44

Soups i have it in green and charcoal round necks and pale grey, black ( they are v necks) I have worn the black one to death!

I suffer from anxiety. This situation although minor to others, hugely increases it🙄

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 01/03/2019 14:51

never aww thanks you are all here in spirit with me😄
Anxiety is horrible, especially combined with situations that you have no real control over.

wearenotacodfish · 01/03/2019 15:00

I have just bought the M&S Holly Willoughby boiler suit. I fear this is a mistake.

SoyYo · 01/03/2019 15:01

Oh so much chat to catch up on!
I have a pretty full on work day today so just to say I’ve received the new ombré t in S but no chance to try on till later but will report back

@whiskey thank you for your nice curl comment and already telling soups what I was about to recommend: the CG book. I met Lorraine last year (the CG guru and author) and she was awesome and my copy is signed by her.

@Huff love the denim skirt and culottes on you. The Santana looks lovely and it’ll be super useful in the summer (trust me I have it), the chinos look good too but not something that jumps as amazing so if you also got jeans and you must return something maybe it’s them? Personally looking at you modelling it all in your lovely beamy cottage I'd say Keep the Lot!

@never amazing the maxi insect skirt! Can’t justify any more purchases but it looks so lovely on you...bargainous too!

@cherries we are all jealous of your perkiness Grin no pain no gain has never been truer

@not you do look well turned out just for the school run! Shock really great pinafore on you and cardy combo and good to see we’re shopping our wardrobe too with ideas from this thread

@laska do investigate Pilates preferably find an instructor or class run by physiotherapists used to gentle starts and then you’ll get the right support to improve your injuries. TBH all Pilates instructors should offer different level classes and be able to guide you through the right exercises for your condition. I’ve been at it for so long now that as I’ve got stronger I’ve moved up the class ranks (slightly regretted that at my last “strength masochist Pilates class Wink)
Right I’m posting this half hour late as work calls keep interfering Hmm.
Hope it makes sense!
