babygrey - sounds like you got a few good things there, despite the material quality. I'm tempted to agree with you, and I've only discovered hush comparatively recently...but even charity shop finds are noticeably thicker/ better quality than some more recent new purchases...though some are still great. It's v frustrating. I'm keeping my eye on the chinos though...they look rather good.

Grin @ natural ! Glad you like them too! They will be lovely for a holiday (where are you off to?) Am also nodding sagely at the poetry order... I see where you're coming from Wink Some lovely stuff there.

Thanks for the heads up len. I'm not even looking at the ladies stuff as I will be tempted, but I have ordered a load of stuff for DS (who is growing like a weed at the moment) and I'd forgotten I had a tenner on my account from a cock up they'd made previously, so I've sorted out his wardrobe for another couple of months for about £30.

Babygrey7 · 14/02/2019 08:45

Notanactualsheep, yes I hope the chinos wash well, then I'd buy more

Am fed up with skinnies now

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 08:52

A small independent shop in our village have a sale .. Burgundy Fly boots.(.with extra tenner knocked off because it was me..) it seemed rude not to.....😊

....but may regret it later..am at home waiting for the boiler man...

NotAnActualSheep · 14/02/2019 09:37

Oooh - those are lush laska ! They are like your celtic ones, but burgundy? Will go really well with your leather leggings! And a bargain too. Reminds self to try for a "because its me" discount next time I'm in a shop Grin

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 09:46

Not they looked like have been knocking around the shop for a while though I reckon (even though they are new), have a few small marks but nothing that much (but they are going to scratch anyway and its only because of the type of leather) so thats why I asked if they would take any more off them .. They sell surfy stuff during the summer and quirky brands like Emily and Fin and Two Danes.... Ive been a customer there before (& why are you not surprised at that ?!! Grin)

dontcallmelen · 14/02/2019 09:46

Ooh I say Laska they are fabulous, that’s going to be my new mantra “because it’s me” wonders if it will work with weekly shop😂

neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2019 09:47

Lovely boots @laska.
Well hush have sent me the slip so that my bedale trainers can be 'inspected' Hmm Standard procedure I suppose. Hopefully issue me with a refund for them as I don't want another pair if the sole is that weak.

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 09:47

and yes very like my Celtic ones.. Ive wanted proper burgundy boots for ages..
soy in case you didnt know .. Fly are v good for Kipper feet!

neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2019 09:48

Sorry a slip for free return postage!!!

I bought some fly boots too recently. I have had those boots before @Laska. Fly London lover here. They have a good used market on ebay btw.

neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2019 09:50

I sold mine because I didn't really like the colour that I had. They were a kind of dirty khaki. They looked worse after I had worn them. I think I got more than what I paid for and had worn them for about a year [ not constantly though]

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 09:52

My first pair never I have always avoided then previously because of the sole.(I tend to keep boots forever and have then resoled, but you cannot with those, nor my Celtic ones ) .

They are really comfy .. but a bit squeaky when you walk ! I have taken the inner sole out (as it is that squeaking ) and will replace with leather ones

neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2019 10:00

I get bored with certain boots so end up selling them on to make way for new ones :)

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2019 10:07

@laska, the sole doesn't wear that fast I have found. I suppose it does depend if you are wearing them all the time though.

justilou1 · 14/02/2019 10:50

@Laska - NICE BOOTS! I love them!!! I miss wearing boots soooo much! (Am resenting having to paint my toenails every week as am wearing sandals. I don't like seeing my toenails - why should I have to share them with the unsuspecting public?)
I have just ordered some new skinny jeans and found an outlet store that just happened to have the jumper I was eyeing off for $20 instead of $119. (Although I just noticed it's on sale on the site today for $59, I still did well....) It's grey for a change. Husband will be underwhelmed - should he ever notice. www.decjuba.com.au/collections/women/products/sandra-tie-sleeve-knit-lgm.
I'm going to Melbourne later this year, where the weather is much colder and I will enjoy snuggling into my precious leopard and snuggly knitwear. There will be much wine and starlight that week, as I am going up to the mountains. I can't wait!!! Just need some boots now! Thinking something like @Laska's in black or tan would be perfect!!!

Ellapaella · 14/02/2019 12:21

I love those boots @Laska2Meryls and love your means of getting a discount.. must try that one myself.
I have to say boots are my favourite thing in life. My doc martens have been my Best Buy for months and months. Can't stop looking at my feet when I wear them. I love it when you find the perfect boots 🥾👌
Anyone else having this lovely spring weather today? Been at the beach and it's sunny, clear skies and mild enough to not need a coat.

dontcallmelen · 14/02/2019 12:28

Beautiful day here in London skies are bright blue not a cloud in sight, currently sitting in my kitchen with the French doors open sun streaming in & a line full of washing out.

SoyYo · 14/02/2019 12:41

I sent the sun from Spain to Blighty it seems 😎 now to make sure it stays that way into next week!
@laska those boots are AWESOME, really great and good to know they’re good for kippers. I’ll look out for Fly bargains in the future.
Was roped into urgent work phone call today (just finished) so had to postpone picking up new insoles from podiatrist till tomorrow...can a girl not get a week’s holiday in peace? Hmm
Still. The rest can wait till Monday and if it meant keeping people happy then keep them happy we can do Wink

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 19:27

I just grabbed a pair of Hush denim shorts for £19 on ebay ( better than the 45 they are going for this season.. ) It wasn't any of you selling was it?

I've got some summer things I want to sell , but think ill wait a bit .

I have had to send the Saltwater Rose Gold sharks (that arrived today) back - they were really narrow! Sad

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 19:29

Soy that is too bad, I hope they are paying you extra!

Is the house you stay in the one you are hoping to move to or are you thinking of buying something else ?

dontcallmelen · 14/02/2019 19:36

Ooh a good bargain Laska such a shame about the saltwaters though they are so pretty.

NotAnActualSheep · 14/02/2019 20:25

Laska - your shop sounds as if it has v good customer service! Glad you worked out what was making them squeak, though. That kind of thing drives me potty. I really like the kind of leather that goes all scratched over time...sort of "weathered". I got a bag off eBay for peanuts that was brand new, but slightly scratched in storage in that kind of leather, and it looks lovely (IMO). Good buy with the shorts, but what a pity about the sandals...they really are lovely.

Hope hush aren't awkward about your trainers never - that is really annoying given they are so expensive.

And soy - I can't believe you're being asked to work!! What cheek... though I suppose if it makes life less stressful when you get back 'cos a problem has been swatted, I suppose its probably worth it, as long as you can switch off now Smile

justilou Bargain jumper! (Reckon they do it in fuschia pink? WinkGrin ). That's really nice, though I've realised I can't be trusted with those kinds of sleeves... they just dangle in stuff too easily. Bet you're looking forward to your trip to the mountains, with coat, jumpers and boots prepared! I agree the Laska-boots would be perfect for that kind of trip.

Weather's been nice today, but not really spring. Still needed my Big Coat and heating on....

Laska2Meryls · 14/02/2019 20:36

I have been now (dangerously) looking on the Toast website at Olive Saltwaters . Am annoyed that Saltwater UK charge £6 postage Shock !! but to get free delivery on Toast you gave t spend £125.. and can I be trusted?.. the trick I suppose is to make up the order wit something you dont like, (but the trouble isthat there are things I DO like, see) Hmm

ilovecherries · 14/02/2019 20:49

Well, I am just over half a stone lighter than I was yesterday. Hasn’t been an easy day, went to theatre at 7 and seem to have reacted to one of the drugs, as I’ve been terribly sick and faint all day. It’s all been a bit horrible but it’s over :).
