Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

Then again it could mean nothing. There's a slight resemblance between Meghan and Pippa. Doesn't mean Harry secretly lusts after Pips! Oops, think I've just written the headline for tomorrow's Mail...

dm link. Apparently Prince George told a dog walker his name was Archie.

I think that is an utterly cute name and suits him better than George.
Apparently his nickname by his parents is PG Tips or Tips.

William’s name at Uni was Steve.

Article also talks about Charlotte starting at Thomas’s in Battersea in September. She will only be 4.
Also, they may eschew Eton for Secondary school. I’ve heard talk they would consider Marlborough.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/01/2019 10:56

@Queen, I’ve heard that about Joachim & infidelity.
I’ve got a lot of time for his first wife Alexandra, [[http://royalwatcherblog.com/2017/06/30/countess-alexandra-of-frederiksborg/ Countess of Fredericksborg]] She ditched her Danish Civil list income. Which she was entitled to for life.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 27/01/2019 11:06

CurlyWurlyTwirly I've got a (time-specific) ticket for the Dior exhibition and I cannot wait. If I had the figure and the funds, I'd wear nothing else!

I really hope they don't call the baby Diana - I know it has a strong meaning from Greek mythology but it just sounds really insipid to me. Also I think another "Lady Diana" would finish the DofE altogether!

Also, I'm confused about whether the baby will be called Sussex or Mountbatten Windsor as I keep seeing both on here and when did Mountbatten come back into use, if it has?

Wetdogloveshubert · 27/01/2019 11:11

Curly George was also only 4 when he started - my dd is the same age and started school at the same time.

It would be lovely for Harry and Meghan to have a traditional first name, but use an unusual middle name as the main name, like Meghan herself.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/01/2019 11:11

As the baby won’t be an hrh Prince/ss they have to use the Mountbatten Windsor surname of all the descendants of the Queen & Prince Phillip.
However, like the Cambridges, they will probably use Sussex for ease, at places like school.
William and Harry both went by Wales at school and in the Army

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/01/2019 11:12

@dontcallmecharlotte
When are you going to Dior? Post back when you have been

Bloominglovely · 27/01/2019 11:32

I definitely think Harry will want Diana’s name included. The fact Charlotte also has it is irrelevant. After all W&K used Louis twice and they only have two boys. I don’t think they will use Diana as a first name though.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 27/01/2019 11:35

I'm going in March. Will definitely post back. In the meantime, to whet your appetite, this was their Paris flagship store at Christmas.

Love the PF Tips nickname for George. Wtf was that woman thinking
about though, going to the media? Such a shame it couldn't have just remained a private encounter.

I'm also going to the Dior exhibition! Very excited.

OlennasWimple · 27/01/2019 12:50

It would be a horrible burden for any royal baby, to be called Diana as their first name

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2019 12:55

Cute story re George but really, how do we know any of it is true??

OP posts:
desertgirl · 27/01/2019 12:56

Perhaps they should call her Camilla - that would liven things up....

Inniu · 27/01/2019 12:59

Will Harry’s children only be Lord/Lady until Charles becomes king. Do they get promoted to Prince/Princess then as male line grandchildren of a monarch like Beatrice and Eugenie?

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2019 13:08

Not sure. Have there been any other Lords or Ladies who were the great-grandchild of a monarch and then promoted to prince or princess once their gandparent ascended the throne? Edward VIII and George VI are the only examples I can think of and they were Princes from their birth, although they might've only been Highnesses rather than Royal Highnesses at first.

OP posts:
desertgirl · 27/01/2019 13:23

They would, according to the Letters Patent, but their parents may choose not to use the titles (like Edward and Sophie)

WhitherShallIWander · 27/01/2019 13:35

Name changed & waving hello.

Thanks for the new thread Queen

queenofarles · 27/01/2019 13:51

I think Dior at V&A is not identical to the Dior louvre one, Mathilde Favier posted some pics on Insta stories a while back and it did not look too similar, which makes sense, I know many folks who went to Paris specifically to see the retrospective .
I've fallen in love with Dior after attending the Paris Retrospctive, huge fan of Maria Grazia work.

MakeItAmazing · 27/01/2019 14:05

Apparently Prince George told a dog walker he's called Archie! He was with Carole and Princess Charlotte and playing in a stream.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/01/2019 14:18

@queenofArles.
Im def going to the London one as well to see how it compares to Paris; which I thought was magical.
I hope the V&A can live up to it...

Charlene's having a bad week

Royal style & gossip: who's got the best gownage and crownage?
Clionba · 27/01/2019 14:32

Oh Charlene! It looks like a cassock. She looks like Father Ralph from the Thorn Birds! Confused

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2019 14:33

That Dior exhibit does look good, I must admit. Exhibitions have got very expensive though - £22!

I’m a member with a + a guest pass, if anyone has a date they’d like to go & I can help let me know.

desertgirl · 27/01/2019 15:18

Here is Rania, not at her best - like the skirt part of this dress but the top just looks wrong - initial reaction was that she was wearing a hospital gown though they don’t go that far up the neck.... thoughts?
