I’ve downloaded ‘grandmama of Europe’ on to my kindle. Thanks for the recommendations! I’m a slower reader though as I can only do it in snatched minutes so I’ll report back sometime later in the year.

There are advantages to children going to secondary school but not having half an hour to read outside school when doing the pick up is the downside.

That black dress on Kate was stunning. As was the jewellery.
William buy/ gift her a bit of bling for her right hand.

I’m surprised we don’t see Kate wearing the diamond and ruby suite in that black velvet dress photo; more often.
I think that level of jewellery is appropriate for her rank. Apparently the necklace could well be convertible into tiara.

I would like to see her wearing the emerald choker ( which Diana wore a lot) and there was a beautiful suite of sapphires which Diana was gifted by the Saudis.
I guess Kate is trying not to be too ostentatious in uncertain times.
I think we will see a rather modest rewear at the baftas next week....

I think Kate will be very aware of the comparisons in the media if she wore a lot of Diana’s jewellery hence why I don’t think she wears it much. It’s bad enough that Diana has not been out of some papers in 20 years without giving more for them to write about. I think she is trying to carve her own path whilst being sensitive to W and H

I wish the Queen would lend Sophie, Kate and Meghan some more interesting jewellery.
Anyone know if there are any state banquets due?
We haven’t see Meghan fully blinged up yet.
