Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

Not sure about Zara's racing ensemble today. She has great legs though!
Think the dress is too high cut

thisshitgotreal · 12/01/2019 13:36

Ooh yes not sure about that dress for Zara. I love her so don't want to criticise but it makes her look a lot bigger than she is, and a bit too short although as you say - she has great legs!

I love the pattern - that's about it!

UrsulaPandress · 12/01/2019 13:37

That dress is all kinds of odd.

Hairydilemma · 12/01/2019 13:57

On blogs, I like What Kate Wore and What Meghan Wore, which share the general ethos of these threads in terms of being kind, talking about the clothes rather than eg how thin someone is etc.

beanaseireann · 12/01/2019 14:16

I don't like Zara's dress but love how the lilac in the shoes and the red and pink of her dress are matched in her Mike's tie - Smile- cute.
I love Jesinta Campbell's pink and white striped dress. I love a square neckline. I think it's so flattering ( compared to round or v neck ) but a square neckline is hard to get

TSSDNCOP · 12/01/2019 14:25

I’m betting Zara is pregnant.

Very thought provoking article by James Middleton.

UrsulaPandress · 12/01/2019 14:36

I did wonder if she might be as it's an odd fit. The article said she was riding in a polo match the other day but no pics of that.

Paradyning · 12/01/2019 14:58

I think she's just not shifted baby weight and so is dressing to mask the tummy. I noticed it the other day too. That would be totally normal. It's just that she has superwomen cousins in law for sorry comparison.

mikado1 · 12/01/2019 15:00

Well, I've sobbed my way through that article because it could be me. I knew I was finding life very hard, with many reasons for that, but I wouldn't have said it was depression. It makes me think I should get some help myself. Well done to James.

Pupsiecola · 12/01/2019 15:04

Mikado 💐

BlingLoving · 12/01/2019 15:14

Really well written article by James. Particularly as its in the DM!! Grin.

Can someone link to pictures of Zara today? I think she struggles with her weight and it's an ongoing challenge. She sort of reminds me of me. Good legs but tendency to plumpness everywhere else! And with a mother who is still wearing the same clothes 40 years later or whatever, it's got to be annoying...

Not sure about the fit on that dress on Zara but love the colours.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 15:35

Brilliant article by James.

But as they say on Mumsnet "Comparison is the thief of joy."

Clionba · 12/01/2019 16:19

Zara had a baby only 6 months ago. It would be perfectly natural to be a bit bigger than usual. Not keen on the dress, though. It's probably very hot in Australia, and difficult to dress for.

nicoala1 · 12/01/2019 16:46

Lurker here, hope you don't mind.

Am enjoying all the pics and stuff. But back to James Midleton. What a brave man to come out with that. Men do not generally admit they have anything wrong with them. But as others have said, maybe he had to put his side of the story out before the vultures circled.

ANYWAY..... does anyone else think he (with beard) looks an awful lot like some of some of the previous RF men who wore beards? That often struck me. But I could be raving, I often am!

Love the thread thank you all.

megletthesecond · 12/01/2019 17:49

I've made the sweet puff pastries from the Hubb Community Kitchen "Together" cook book. Gluten free puff pastry worked fine. I've already had three....

I am really impressed by James' article, it's always horrible to think of someone suffering such mental torture. It does seem very strange that he would reveal this all publically though and I think whoever mentioned on here the possibility of blackmail is right. You do get the sense that he wants to control the narrative. It shows the dark side of accidental fame that suddenly your normal human struggles can be used as ammunition against you and your family.

I wonder as it came out on Saturday it was to prevent a "World Exclusive" in a Sunday tabloid.

IdaBWells · 12/01/2019 18:04

Meglet we have a teen dd with Celiac disease so our whole family is gluten free. How did the puff pastry turn out? Was it an easy recipe?

LoversLane · 12/01/2019 18:25

Mikado lots of love and Flowersto you. Admitting that you may need some help is the first step. We are here if you need us. I haven’t read the article yet, I normally try to avoid clicking on the DM articles, but I think I may make an exception for this one. BIL has suffered from bouts of depression in the past so I think is going to be a tough read.

Zara may still be breastfeeding or recently stopped? I think it’s refreshing that she hasn’t dropped to a size 8 within weeks of giving birth, it proves that people in the public eye are normal too!

hopeishere · 12/01/2019 18:45

Zara's dress is very unflattering. It's too short and the high neck makes her boobs look big. Are they paid to attend that event?

megletthesecond · 12/01/2019 18:53

ida I used the ready made Jus-Rol gluten free pastry. It didn't look as crackly as gluten pastry but it still tastes like puff pastry.
The recipe is two parts and pretty easy. Make up the filling and let it cool, then cut the pastry squares and dollop it in then cook.

IdaBWells · 12/01/2019 19:08

MikadoFlowers sadly depression and anxiety are all too common in our modern world. That's why it's so important to figure out the root causes and what gives you personal relief. James' article was great because it ends in hope and with details of treatments that were working for him. It's so good to see him happy on holiday with his GF.

Spudlet · 12/01/2019 19:09

I've been there Mikado, and am still there some days. You are not alone, my love. There are so many of us. Flowers

JM did a good thing by speaking out. I hope he wasn't coerced into it. The DM has a huge readership and I hope that's why the article is there. Speaking out about these feeling is hard, so hard, and so I don't feel I'm patronising him by saying that it's a brave thing to do because it was.
