Bought a MH on ebay and will let you know how my addiction problem is going when i arrives

SOTD Body Shop White Musk!

FloofyIdentifiesAsInnocentDave · 07/01/2019 17:38

I swear we pass around colds etc to each other on this bus Grin Just coming out of the other side of mine I think, thankfully, am exhausted but hospital gave my chest the all clear today - I still have Christmas chocolate left so clearly very unwell Wink Hope all sufferers feel better soon!

BlueSheep I love the Lush Karma perfume but I know it's a bit marmite. I think one of the Nina Ricci's I used to have and loved was very patchouli - I cant remember which one though, maybe someone here will know? God I miss the Body Shop perfumes too (and the little baskets with straw and the little bath pearls!) I still have a teeny old bottle of the rose musk oil. Still gorgeous.

MrsR8 what are the PP wax melts like? I'm so tempted.

On that note I have done a bad thing Blush in my defence it is MrsL's fault for mentioning the Astray Fruit - and whoever said the PP are doing 5 for £10 on eBay (who was that btw? Anyway, your fault whoever you were Grin). So my New Year's resolution lasted exactly 7 days Blush In my defence there's a couple for smallest DS who has suddenly got into aftershave (after I enabled him by putting samples in his advent calendar!) I can't believe he is old enough

Also have 5 samples in my Feel Unique basket but I MUST RESIST.

Not enjoying 'back to school' but did at least have VC&A's Neroli Amara for company. This is a great neroli - quite fresh with galbanum, and slightly heady with orange blossom. It was still going at mid afternoon - so good for at least 7 or so hours. It came as a sample in the niche box and I am impressed. Really lovely clean, soapy vibe. Could easily become a summer staple - I'll keep an eye out for decants/discounting.

Lotsofpots · 07/01/2019 22:13

I currently have a full PP basket and a 4160 basket, and a shay and blue basket. Am firmly sitting in hands (bastard SMP).

SOTD was sexiest scent.

I had a lovely day in London today, sales shopping with my sister and sampling lots of perfumes in Oxford Street. My three top loves were:

Annick Goutal Bois d’Hadrien - citrus, woods and incense
H&M Rose Absolute - deep, dark, rose and only £8.99 for a rollerball
Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male - lavender, mint and sweet spicy woods

I didn’t actually buy any of them! I have too many samples to finish and enjoy, but I may be tempted later in the year.

MrsLucas · 07/01/2019 23:50

I want to try the H&Ms Calm - sounds like a lovely day.
Tell us what you have in those baskets Pots?

sotd MH fleur du Matin

smells very citrusy at the mo, hoping it'll dry down to be more mellow. Does smell garden like tho. tbf.

teta · 08/01/2019 15:16

A rather belated happy new year!
I’ve been feeling a bit perfume uninspired recently. So have taken to wearing Cristalle/ grand neroli/ Rook Neroli etc. I have a bottle of Van Cleef & Arpels California Reverie that I love and might dig out. The Neroli Amari sounds very tempting MrsLucas.
Fleur du matin is one of my all time favourites Kalifornia. It’s the tart honeysuckle & Galbanum that almost makes my mouth water and is so refreshing.
Wore Grand Neroli for Hot Yoga today and nearly expired from the heat & exertion! But am now basking in a rosy zen glow 🧘🏼‍♀️.

Vintage Tweed today. It is from the early 80s and in perfect oakmossy condition.

Lotsofpots · 08/01/2019 20:53

MrsL basically lots of samples of things I want to try - dandelion fig, amber rose, framboise noire and black tulip from S&B, and then I desperately want some more White Queen from 4160. And they had the last few bottles of Take Me To the River which I'm keen to try. And thought I'd chuck in a sample of centrepiece, another kiss and mrs gloss indoors.

Oh and because I'm a sheep I obviously now need the PP fireside wax melts or fragrance dust.

And what makes this even more ridiculous is that I forgot to wear perfume today as I'm so knackered, so it's not like I even need the bloody stuff!

MrsLucas · 08/01/2019 23:26

All sounds great Pots - be sure to report back!

Teta - hope your perfume mojo returns. Was in the VC&A Neroli again today and it is fab.

Trying out PP Tuscan Leather tonight - can't pick up any raspberry. Has anyone tried this - if so, what do you think?

Calm - amazed to discover how animalic Tweed was - always imagined it would be a very upright sort of fragrance, but it's a bit skanky?

Mrs8 that made me lol

SOTD DH's My Land by Trussardi (cheap and cheerful xmas gift that i am totally nicking)

KaliforniaDreamz · 09/01/2019 09:11

Teta it is not the one i am desperately searching for, but it is nice. But i may sell on....

Bluesheep8 · 09/01/2019 10:59

Wearing SJP Lovely today. I've got my annual neurologist appointment and need something clean smelling and calming. Have also sprayed it liberally on my scarf for comfort Smile

XingMing · 09/01/2019 14:37

SoTD is the PP Imperial Tea (original is By Kilian and eye-wateringly £££). I've always enjoyed this as a comfort scent because it reminds me of very nice Assam tea, but sweetened.

Calmanddance · 09/01/2019 18:29

MrsLucas, yes Tweed is a bit skanky, but just enough to make it interesting. I think tastes were different back in the 60s, when I remember a large splash bottle of Tweed on my mother’s dressing table. I think it was a mid price perfume, not as cheap (in comparative terms) as the modern version.

Xing, I have a small spray bottle of PP Imperial Tea. Definitely one of my successful buys from them!

SOTD was Gres Ambre de Cabochard, a spicy, creamy amber. I like it very much.

auberginesrus · 09/01/2019 18:33

Ooh that sounds lovely XingMing. I have completely overlooked a SOTD Blush but spent yesterday wearing S&B English Cherry Blossom, which was a very pleasant light and fresh floral, and unsuprisingly quite spring like (wishful thinking it's freezing here and I had to scrape the car this morning).
