SOTD Kyse Douceur Brulee. I smell like a creme brulee

Apologies for any typos btw I have dropped my phone yet again and the screen is barely visible under the cracks. Ironically immediately before dropping it I had ordered a new case due to fumble fingers and it arrives today

Am recovering from surgery in hospital and I've just put on a little spritz of 4160 New York. It's comforting, simple and sweet, which is good for me today.

My colleague "you smell like butter toffee popcorn"

SOTD FM Music for a While-Lavender/pineapple/patchouli, sounds odd but works for me.

Also keeping an eye of for the 4160 sale, am hoping for some Over the Chocolate Shop

My first proper perfume in a couple of weeks today- Mfk Amyris Femme. It’s a woody floral with a bit of a punch from oud ( why do I always want to spell ood - as in a Dr Who monster).
Other than that because of hot yoga in the mornings I’ve been spraying Grand Neroli for freshness and one of the Bach flower perfumes - vivacity. Only because TK Maxx had them in and I like to try new things. It’s a bit woody, masculine and unusual but smells fantastic on my jumper. Many of the notes are new to me - whitechestnut, Olive, hornbeam, larch, Mustard flower, centaurium, gorse. It’s all meant to induce happiness 😀 umm.
Sympathies with the Reynauds sufferers - it sounds horrible. Fanny I hope your recovery goes well. Perfume sounds a good start. Lotsofpots you must have slept well after that lot!

Afternoon all, I had some reward vouchers from work so treated myself to the Replica sample set from John Lewis which arrived today. I haven't tried any out properly yet but smelt a few on paper/out of the bottle. Unfortunately managed to dab At the Barbers under my nose - smells like something my dad would wear in 1977 (Brut?)

Looking forward to trying Beach Walk and Lipstick On in particular, have to say not immediately keen on By the Fireplace (but I don't like the 4160 Fireside one either).

I'm in Lipstick On now and I absolutely love it, smells exactly like a vintage waxy lipstick at first (or even the current L'Oréal ones) but has dried down to a gorgeous vanillary Tonka bean skin scent, via some lovely florals. Looked up the notes on Fragrantica and there is loads in there I like, so no wonder I'm enjoying it so much (heliotrope, iris, neroli, and orange blossom to name a few). Apparently there is patchouli too but I'm not getting that. Could become a real favourite!

SOTD JHAG Mad Madame. I am dying of cold again. I never got properly rid of it from before Christmas, and now it’s back good and proper. I have been ill for six weeks now.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Fanny. Hoping it gets a bit warmer soon; can't stand icy pavements.

SotD was Musc et Mure (if I have this the right way round. ). Turns out this smells like a generic bathroom cleaner when sniffed in cold weather. Much lovelier in the warm when it opens out a bit.

Feeling grotty. Ugh.

Jo Malone Nutmeg and ginger today. The dog likes it as he’s cuddled up in the sofa with me. I feel ill, tired and achey, so a quiet day is in order.

I'd like to thank people for the help provided.

I've ordered a sample box from the Perfume society, and went out to sample loads of perfumes in shops.

I've surprised myself with liking one. Gucci Bloom Nettare Di Fiori. Smelled great on my skin, and lasted all day. Now I need to see what else is out there.

Got my sample of Le Labo tonka 25 and it isn't as amazing on me as it was on my mate. I'm half gutted and half delighted, as that's £125 saved.

Evening all. I have been suffering appallingly with a hangover today after an impromptu night out (aren't they always the best/worst?) and I really couldn't face any perfume at all at 6am [blee]

I actually had to have a little nap in my office when I got in . It worked, though, and by lunchtime I felt recovered enough for a gentle spritz of MH Rose Silence. God, I am such a lightweight these days...

God, alcohol would literally kill me these days!...

I’m doing dry January and will probably extend it further than Jan, as I get a nasty hangover after 2 drinks these days 😩.
I’d like to report I’m all glowing and healthy on my alcohol-free journey, but I’m only just stumbling out of a bout of proper flu. You know the ‘can’t get out of bed, feel like you might die’ variety? Grim.

I managed a spritz of Coco Mademoisellle Intense this morning, which I like. A smoothed out, ambery version of the original.

Makes a change from Eau de Vicks Vaporub anyway.
