Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a fragrant day! Fennel I think the 4160 sale is happening as quick as Sarah can empty the shelves and have a clear out. I'm really excited about it as I like a lot of the "Vault" stuff too.

I'm waiting for Paris 1948, Paradox, Sex Goddess, Raw silk and Red Roses, Ealing Green, Killer Rose....

BTW CatherineMaitland fabulous choice. Have you tried any of the other Papillons?

I literally only have the Papillon samples right now as my very first foray into perfume. (birthday present to myself)! I like Angelique but it doesn't suit me much; and I really do like Dryad.

Have promised my Salomé sample to Mrs8. That and Anubis were both just not me.

I was just sorting out perfume samples on my bed and my six month old was getting increasingly pissed off. Attempted to feed him, but he was becoming more and more distressed. Turns out he'd chewed off part of a Byredo Flowerhead box and it was stuck to the roof of his mouth. Definitely a case of perfume over parenting.

SotD PP Mossy Breaches . Honey and moss - their oil seems to work especially well with this one.

MrsLucas i have and i have noted all years and details but from teh descriptions they all sound like th one i am looking for!!!

also as they are discontinued it is hard ot get samples.... x

Chypre Sublime... random choice, but the first burst of top notes is ... err... sublime.

SotD Junky. Big Galbanum opening which I loved, then it went almost too masculine for me. Then the hemp/cannabis made its presence felt and I thought 'oh shit, this is NSFW' but as I was about to scrub it the floral heart notes started to make there presence felt and it started being much better behaved from then on. So an 'interesting' first couple of hours!

I got my first Kyse order today. I smell edible

I had an amazing visit to Bloom Perfumery with my sister yesterday. It is just so nice to talk to the enthusiasts there (thank you Alla and Tom 💐) and try all sorts of amazing perfumes. I came away with a selection of samples and a bottle of Imaginary Authors “O, Unknown!”. This is a dry parchment iris with tea and incense. I had tested it before and kept coming back to it. I have kept all the tester spills (20 of them!) to keep smelling over two or three days before they lose their smell.

I was particularly interested to try some of the Zoologist perfumes again. I have a mind to buy a bottle, as I am enjoying my bottle of Elephant so much but they are so expensive I don’t want to make a mistake. Zoologist make mini bottles (11mls). You can’t buy them in the shop but they will order them in on request. I don’t know the price. So I’m considering buying 2 or 3 later in the year. The other news about Zoologist is that they are introducing two new perfumes in the spring: Dodo “a peculiar fougere with lime, lychee, ferns, feathers and musk” and Chameleon “ylang ylang, mango, star fruit, tropical flowers and salt”. They are also planning some aquatic creatures.

I wore Zoologist Civet today. I’m in love with it 💕. I was conscious of it all day and yet I don’t think the sillage is overwhelming. It is a spicy, resinous floral with civet. The civet is not overwhelming and there is a lovely coffee note which I didn’t recognise before looking it up.

Oh Civit is fab. If you order from Zoologist direct you can buy a set of the 11ml bottles. Not cheap though. I keep wondeting about a Bloom Nose subscription then having all the Zoologists because I can't decide which ine I like most.

Another Civet fan reporting in. If anyone had a cunning plan to combine orders/split bottles etc etc please let me know!

Have to put a shout out (in a Civet context) for vintage Femme (possibly the most perfect ever perfume).

We have snow! This is very exciting and is making me consider my perfume choice carefully. I haven't decided yet

The Zoologist perfumes sound so interesting, can't wait to read reviews here. I'm telling myself I must not look at the 4160a sale.

MrsR and Georgian will get your decants in the post as soon as possible but will take a few days as a. I can't find my bottles and b. Cold weather is making my fingers very bad (I have Raynauds and think I'm getting an ulcer on my index finger ) Pet hate at the moment is dabbers instead of sprays!

The mammoth tidy up which resulted in the disappearance of my decant bottles turned up a doozy though! I found an old briefcase from my first serious job (see how old I am, briefcases instead of laptop bags ) and inside was a sealed bottle of very old Amarige! Oh the nostalgia.

Any suggestions for snow perfumes gratefully welcomed.
