Oh calm I've been wanting to try inevitable crimes for ages and you're doing nothing to help...

Lotsofpots · 19/01/2019 12:48

MrsL if I'm not sure about sex goddess (too blousy for me) how will I get on with goddess of love?

CountFosco · 19/01/2019 13:17

SotD Live in Love. Bright green floral, very easy to wear and cheap as chips. Love it!

OP posts:
MrsLucas · 19/01/2019 13:37

Pots - depends on what exactly you mean by blousy? Good term btw!

I haven't got a lot skin left to try SG on. (Am sitting in the kitchen and its too cold to take off coat and roll up sleeves or trouser legs a la Pest).

But SG has a very much more modern vibe with that big pencil shavings cedar note, and the synthetic translucent lemony-woody smell of IsoE Super. GoL&P opens with raspberries, but then elegantly glides towards a gently raspy old school oakmossy chypre. (Doesn't smell like Mitsouko, but has something of that style).

UnnecessaryFennel · 19/01/2019 14:33

SOTD is MMM By the Fireplace Grin

Quite tempted by GoL&P...

Fennel - I'm with you in not generally being a huge fruit fan, but I really enjoy Babylon Sunset too.(Not sure why LT had a relative downer on it?). If you like the mossy, slightly raspy heart of Mitsouko, I think you would enjoy GoL&P.

I have 9ml of Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge which is not sparking joy (has only been sprayed a couple of times). Up for a swap anyone?

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 19/01/2019 20:30

Evening all.
Have been awol as am in total rut with perfume I didn't want to bore you! Shalimar-Samsara-Opium is the holy trinity of winter seemingly. Hope you are all fine and dandy and smelling gorgeous!

UnnecessaryFennel · 19/01/2019 21:05

Everyone is out tonight, so I'm having an early night with a good book and Creamy Vanilla Crumble.

God, when did I get so dull? Grin

Dd is out for pizza, dp is out for football and I am on sofa with kindle, a cranberry ice candle, Shalimar and a small Bailey's.
Heaven.

Calmanddance · 19/01/2019 21:33

Opium, Stan Getz, coffee and Cointreau, and a jigsaw on the go.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/01/2019 21:49

SOTD was Mitsouko for a trip to the hairdresser. Now had a bath and in pjs and Chanel 19 Poudre.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/01/2019 21:59

Salome is sweaty pants - you’ve been wearing them all day, unexpectedly go out for drinks and dinner, then go clubbing and end up with a one night stand. Salome is the scent of your knickers when you finally get home and give them a quick sniff before jumping in the shower.

I live Inevitable Crimes of Passion, too, and have ordered An Excess of Carelessness to collect when I am back in London in a couple of weeks.

SOTD was Halston. It’s 1982 and I’m out on the pull at a night club near Henley. Grin The reality is that I am slumped on my bed with a nice cup of tea and a digestive.

MrsLucas · 19/01/2019 23:00

Hey Sud! Hey MrsS! Great to hear from you both Smile. Hope life is good?

Have been wearing Z-14 MrsS. It's not especially old, but it's good. Is your Halston vintage? That's a very vivid picture of Salome you've painted Grin. Is it a sweaty cumin note, like Theo Fennell's Scent?

That sounds a winning combination Calm Smile. There's a small package on its way to you...sorry it's taken forever to get it in the post.

cantbelievemyeyes · 19/01/2019 23:14

Hi all, been AWOL for a while due to a big relocation for DHs work. The only perfume I didn't pack up was Patch Flash which I'm loving, but needed a change today. So SOTD was Nasomatto Baraonda, which suited a day exploring new local pubs perfectly!

CountFosco · 19/01/2019 23:54

Powdered corpse or sweaty knickers? What happened to the days when we wanted to smell of roses?

OP posts:
PestymcPestFace · 19/01/2019 23:56

You can do all three Count with Agent Provocateur.

Good morning, wise perfumistas! I have a birthday coming up and have my eye on the MMM Replica sample set but I only really see By The Fireplace mentioned on here. Has anyone got any reviews/info on the other replica scents? If the rest are duds I'll get the PP dupe of By The Fireplace and ask for another sample set - any recommendations? Like the sound of the Tauer scents but open to anything as long as it's not too skanky/jasminey.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/01/2019 07:22

DH has Patch Flash (which I bought him) and Old Sport (which I was hoping he wouldn’t like, as I love it, but he does).

Georgianfairy · 20/01/2019 07:45

I should say I've already looked at the bloom and fragrance society sample packs so new suggestions would be great!

I have some perfumes to offer up if anyone wants them.

From L-R in attached pic:
Ted Baker Langley, approx 2ml left in bottle
PP Samsara, 3ml roll on
Miller Harris fleurs de sel, approx 1ml left
M&S Island Escape Sea Salt and Bergamot, approx 20ml left
Diesel plus plus feminin, 75ml barely used
Dali Wild, approx 3ml left
Armani Gio, unsure of amount, maybe 5ml?

I'm sure there are quite a few Perfumistas MIA but I'm assuming they are avoiding the scandalous enabling for a New Year's Resolution

I got a big bottle of the PP By the Fireplace (course this was the one that didn't suit me Grin) so MrsR PM me your address (I know I had it but MN cleared inboxes I think) and Georgian if you want me to PM too I can send you both a decant?

Loving all the comfy PJs! MrsS I am the same, in my head I am wearing In Love Again, in teeny hot pants and a vest top, with my hair in space buns and clutching a big bottle of water. In reality I'm wearing PP dupe of ILA whilst clutching a cup of tea and eating M and S Belgian biscuits whilst adjusting my pillows and cat!
