The Middletons strike me as attending church frequently if not every Sunday

The previous Earl to him died in a plane crash along with John F Kennedy’s sister (who was the widow of the heir to the Duke of Devonshire who died in WW2 which is how Debo Mitford became the Duchess of Devonshire).

Anyway, as I said, they keep themselves to themselves, but do silly things like post selfies outside my (previous) house and photos of the son in his school uniform so that us locals all know where he goes to school. I think the nanny does most of the work TBH. I’m sure they’re very nice but they don’t mix with the likes of you and I.

And to connect it all, they went to Eugenie’s wedding.

rhubarb What's odd is sharing it on instagram! DHs business has an instagram account and it's a family of actors. Is she promoting businesses or something?

I don't know if there are special rules about marrying in Westminster Abbey, but basically anyone can get married in their parish CofE church, irrespective of confirmation or baptism, or of any faith or none. I guess W&K were issued a Bishop's/Archbishop's licence but even so, I doubt there would be a requirement for Kate to be confirmed except for the fact that she was marrying the grandson of the Head of the CofE.

Decades ago, I worked for a CofE Diocesan Registrar and used to know about the intricacies of Church regulations, but I've forgotten a lot them by now.

Oh now I see who she is and yes it's a business decision :-)

I think Royal blue with a black fur trim & hat
Camilla grey and grey fur hat
For Kate, I’m going to say a rewear but festive. I think red, like this coat she wore in Canada.meghan, navy coat and navy beret.
I think Sophie will travel with the Queen and wear a coat dress 👗 but ( no actual coat)

I know the thread has moved on slightly but I love Sophie’s hat - I have a similar one I bought in the sales years ago but I’ve never had the balls to wear it!

Looking forward to seeing the Royals walking to Church pics tomorrow. I hope DoC doesn't wear that vile old-fashioned plaid coat and furry hat ensemble she sported last year. Hoping for some stylish coat and shoe action from DoS.

Merry Christmas to all 🎄🎄. I think your safe from the plaid coat fly I don't think she would rewear to the same event. I don't think we will see anything new though I see Meghan in the grey coat with a black beret style hat. Kate may go for the 2016 number again that's my bets anyway.

Merry Christmas everyone I'm looking forward to the pictures and the speech and reading what you all think

We are Catholic and generally go to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. This year the family are going to Mass at 6:30pm as a couple are under the weather with a cold. Have to arrive by 6pm at least or you won't get seated in the church but will be in the overflow seating areas in the narthex and social hall. There was a mass around 4pm aimed more toward families with young children. I am still recovering from a serious illness so staying home, which will give me a chance to do my 3 teens stockings while I still have some energy!

We will have cioppino for dinner which is our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. It is a delicious Italian-American style fish stew which you can throw any seafood into. So we usually go mad with lots of clams, scallops, mussels and salmon which are all freshly available as we are a coastal city. We have it with crusty bread. We also have one vegetarian in our family so not sure what DH has planned for her. Then we are planning on watching some movies and general eating, drinking and merriment.

My prediction is Meghan will wear some colour and Autumn will also be in reds, Catherine will be more sophisticated in blues, greys or purples. Charlotte will be colorful though.

I think HM is emphasising continuity, with her father, and Prince Charles and Charles family shot on the table next to her.
She has got the 2royal wddding photos. She has included the full bridal party from Eugenie’s wedding as it included all the great granddaughters which was of course lovely.
Also, it mthink Willuams Family Christmas card on the table too, shows that both brothers are being remembered.

Interesting post on the queens photo though, thanks for that. It seems she's very much not focused on any of her other children (Anne etc) as they're not directly in line. I think pp are right that change is a foot. I bet the next levels down are dreading it.
