Love that quote of your mother's Seneca. Grin

I think HMQ looked great today, as did both the Duchesses. That particular shade of red really suits the DoC.

pisspawpatrol · 25/12/2018 18:50

Does anyone else think Eugenie's coat looks like she is wearing a black mini backpack? The vertical black stripes at the shoulders looks strange.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/12/2018 18:55

Just a quick de-lurk to say I too love Kate’s 1940’s vibe. It’s a look that really suits her. Especially liking the headbands.

I wonder if she’s found her Signature Look.

beanaseireann · 25/12/2018 18:56

We'll need a new thread soon Queen.

SenecaFalls · 25/12/2018 19:04

Kate's Anne Boleyn French hood style headband-hats are starting to grow on me. I thought the one today looked very chic with her coat.

frugalkitty · 25/12/2018 19:08

Seneca I read your earlier comment as having a Chanel cat flap! I think my moggies would like the upgrade to Chanel Grin

SenecaFalls · 25/12/2018 19:13

Well, frugalkitty, there is this. Who knew?

Wow! Who knew indeed! Grin

Holland Cooper is the new wave in countryside attire - capes, ponchos, jackets and padded jackets plus bobble hats. The brand is a bit more modern but I haven’t seen a royal wear anything yet.

itswinetime · 25/12/2018 19:38

I like Kate's head band from the front I think it looks a bit pill box in style but from the back it looks silly.

I’m glad the RF appears to have had a successful day. The newspaper editors will have to find something else to create stories about. There hasn’t been any evidence that MM has put a foot wrong so hopefully (but unlikely) the press will leave her alone to enjoy the rest of her pregnancy and develop the role she wants to have going forward. Too many people want to shape her into their image of a member of the RF rather than accepting that she will do things differently as she has her own ideas and experiences.

itswinetime · 25/12/2018 20:10

I agree with pp just been looking more into what/who the other royals wore lots of information about designers ect nothing on price every article I have seen give a blow by blow of how much meghans cost! Now they can't use feud rumours I think that's where the press will start on at Meghan next 🙄

Laiste · 25/12/2018 20:27

Going way back here but ElspethFlashman - I'm shattered. Both kids woke about 10 times last night from 8pm onwards with anxiety about Santa. The 4 Yr old was genuinely worried Santa wouldn't think he had been good enough. We had the same! DD4 (4) was gagging and heaving with over excitement and anxiety. We read to her and lay down with her but she didn't go quiet and still until midnight. Then you have to wait a while before creeping in to deal with the stocking and mince pie ect.

I thought DofC looked lovely today. I love the fat headband things she wears. It's a style of her own.

Barbours - my opinion of them is that they tend to smell horrid. Like a fusty church Grin Especially when they've been re-waxed.

Parker231 · 25/12/2018 20:37

Laiste - we had the opposite problem. DT’s are 20 and we have their four cousins staying. They all went out to a club last night. I warned them that their grandparents (we have both sets staying with us this week) would want to see them in the morning. We didn’t see any of them until 11 this morning - no one was drunk but they hadn’t got home until 4am. After lunch we had grandparents and six Uni age ‘children ‘ dozing in front of the TV!

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/12/2018 20:39

We've had 2 overexcited 4yos alternating between playing and arguing for the past 2 days. Am glad to be leaving tomorrow!

I think Lady Louise has a look about her which is reminiscent of Princess Mary, the Countess of Harewood who was the Queen’s aunt. What do you think?

Spudlet · 25/12/2018 20:51

We had a three year old, 1.5 year old and a slightly senile spaniel (fully recovered from his nighttime antics) playing chicken with two 90+ year olds. It was excellent, but I have to say a house with rooms the size of Sandringham's would have reduced the stress levels a bit!

Still, all fed, no one dead, all hips still present and correct 👍🎄

Spudlet · 25/12/2018 20:54

I don't think I'm about to rush out and buy one, but the Kate headdress things are starting to grow on me. I suppose when you wear hats as often as she does, you must feel the need to try something different every so often!

I would cheerfully wear Megan's outfit though, I liked it very much. Very Marklesque minimalist.

MotherofPearl · 25/12/2018 22:04

Gosh Rhubarb, the resemblance with Lady Louise is really striking!

itswinetime · 25/12/2018 22:11

I know we have done curtsies to death on previous threads but a very graceful one from Meghan today I thought

royals leaving
(It's the 2nd video)

Rhubarb that is uncanny definite family resemblance there.

Parker231 · 25/12/2018 22:17

Thanks for the videos. If I was DofC or Dof S I would have skipped the hats - both have lovely hair and a hat doesn’t show it off to its best. Love the colors of the coats of the young Philips girls.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/12/2018 22:29

I like Meghan's jaunty saucer hats but really dislike Kate's weird new headgear. Is she trying to start a trend a la the Fergie bows in the 80s? We shall see if 2019 is the year of neck pillows worn as Alice bands!

Paradyning · 25/12/2018 22:37

Merry Christmas all.
I've missed most of the posts as we've been holed up at hospital but do you think there must be a hairdresser up at Sandringham doing the rounds this morning? There's no way most of them did it all by themselves

ElspethFlashman · 25/12/2018 22:44

I think they could well have. Megan's bun looked a bit untidy from the back and all Kates was were those two twisted ropes that pin together, that anyone could do. That and a Babyliss Curl Secret and job done.

Rhubarbisevil · 25/12/2018 23:12

Princess Mary, the. Queen and Lady Louise definitely share the same genes!

I’m not sure about Kate’s headbands. Are they easier to wear than a hat? I’m not sure.
