I think the family just keep changing their surnames; the Wales boys are now Cambridge and Sussex. Catherine uses the name Mrs Cambridge. story here dm link.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2018 10:59

@Elspeth, c&d lok genuinely happy on their honeymoon. But she really looks like a teenager run away with her 30 something teacher...

GrumbleBumble · 24/12/2018 11:13

pupsie the speach is filmed quite a long time before Christmas so the nastiness may not even have been on her radar at the time of filming.

PawneeParksDept · 24/12/2018 11:21

What happens do you think when they have to go for GP appointments and dentist and jabs?

I can't imagine Kate sat in a surgery with a DC and a voice hollering

MRS CAMBRIDGE!!!

I bet they get HV and for the dentist after hours

Clionba · 24/12/2018 11:21

HM was filmed on Dec 12th. The picture of Charles is telling! Change is in process.

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 11:34

Wouldn’t they have their own doctors and dentist or at least an on call one?

BaronessBlonde · 24/12/2018 11:59

OMG you people are dangerous!
I've lurked on most of these threads as it's a lighthearted 20 minutes over my tea.

This morning, I dashed to the supermarket for Coke bloody children drank all the coke I had purchased for ham cooking.
There, in the queue, I spotted the Hello magazine.... and thanks to @parkinpig's contribution on the last thread, I had a fit of giggles.
(Not on a good look on a middle aged woman queuing in the Christmas Eve madness).

Edited to add: can't copy the image on here but it was on the last thread on Tues 18th at 18.29

Tipsey thanks for the Charles retrospective link. I found the one of him as a young child with the Queen Mother, and then standing vigil over her coffin, very poignant. Even at a v young age you could see he adored her, the way he's wrapped himself round her. I loved my grandmother very much too.

OlennasWimple · 24/12/2018 12:19

Announcement of a regency would surely be something from Buck House saying "I have asked the PM to bring forward an act of Parliament to enable the Prince of Wales to become regent", maybe even a filmed, HMQ address to the nation.

Followed by No 10 announcing that an act would be introduced tomorrow, then Parliament basically pushing it through ASAP. It would have been organised so that there was no real opposition to it, and the Whips would re-arrange business to make space for it to go through.

But it ain't gonna happen, folks. My money is on Philip passing away some time in 2019, HMQ stepping back significantly and then following him in the next couple of years, but not a formal regency

Another interesting link..

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 12:31

The link is for those of you questioning whether Prince Louis should be wearing tights in the Christmas card photo.

Mrs Alice is my former neighbour. Her son is still in tights and shorts even in Year One (Xmas Hmm For the record, they are related to Jacob Rees Mogg through marriage.

ElspethFlashman · 24/12/2018 12:36

No it is her, here's another photo of I think the same day. And one of them snogging on a beach. Like I said, I think things were giddy enough in the early days.

The shot if the children outside the house is gorgeous. Must follow her.

And more poignantly, here are two taken a full year apart after their divorce. The one with the blue hat is the last photo of the two of them together before her death.

It shows things got pretty cordial once they got their individual lives back, and remained so. Which is why it was so especially awful. They were rebuilding something new as co-parents.

Sorry, back to the fashion! (It's just we were talking about their early relationship before and I couldn't post the photos then!)

Harebellmeadow · 24/12/2018 13:00

I dont think Kate’s jacket is a barbour. It looks too mossy and fleecey.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/12/2018 13:14

Elspeth can I ask where you got the last few pics off Charles and Diana? I've honestly never seen any of them before ...

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 13:26

You can get tweed barbours. They’re not all waxed. I’ll try and find a photo Smile

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 13:28

www.chelfordfarmsupplies.co.uk/barbour-ladies-carter-wool-jacket-olive

It’s not exactly the same, but you get the idea.

Moononthehill28 · 24/12/2018 14:26

Diana has said a lot about how miserable she was on her honeymoon. These photos are surprisingly loving. The rest of the time they looked like soldiers on parade.
George is called George Cambridge. William and Harry were Wales before they were made Dukes. It’s all very confusing. Harry will be Harry Sussex now!!

Harebellmeadow · 24/12/2018 14:39

Thanks rhubarb
I had only seen quilted, waxed and water repellant ones.
ponders expanding barbour jacket collection

ElspethFlashman · 24/12/2018 14:40

Oh just Google, they've been around for years, I've known about them for a long time.

I think from the urls I've come across that most of the rarer/lesser seen Royal pics (in general) can be found on Pinterest.

There's no doubt Diana was miserable in Balmoral but they went on quite a few sun holidays too, where she seemed to be more in her element. There are other photos of them clowning around on beaches, some wherw she's pregnant in a bikini etc.

But later on she really didn't have a good word to say about anything really. Is that an awful thing to say? Sorry if that offends. I'm not English so don't have any reverence there.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 24/12/2018 14:43

Is anyone else going to be sneakily checking MN under the dinner table tomorrow see everyone's opinions on the Christmas church outfits!?

megletthesecond · 24/12/2018 14:44

I realise they do normal things but the DoC in The Range before Xmas isn't something I thought I'd ever see Shock. Fair play to her.
