I guess the woman in home bargains at least asked before she tried to snap a selfie.
However, I think most people would realise out shopping with your kids is definitely a private moment.
Nice to think that in general Kate does go out & do normal stuff.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2018 08:02

Presents I have heard of are:
Prince Charles gave Anne a doormat
Harry gave HM a shower cap saying “ ain’t life a bitch”
Kate gave homemade chutney and Meghan gave a musical hamster to the Queen.

Clionba · 24/12/2018 08:13

I read that one year Kate made jam for everyone. Charles gives gifts that he buys at markets from locals when on tour. I can't imagine Meghan going down a comedy route. They probably just try to be original. Probably that's how they occupy those hours when the rest of us are cooking/cleaning/ironing/driving to work/putting the bins out/collecting kids/wiping up vomit/arguing about car insurance/in a supermarket queue/waiting to see a GP.... etc.

That jacket looks like green tweed? With trim on the lapel and cuffs? It's gorgeous. There's a Jack Murphy one I coveted last like that - I may have to revisit it.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 24/12/2018 08:19

I hate having to think of ‘normal’ Christmas presents, having to think of joke ones would send me over the edge!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2018 08:37

Here's a juicy little article on royals with illegitimate children that links to several even juicier articles about said children!

Trust the Australian magazine New Idea to break the news of Charles and Camilla's secret son. How could you keep that tidbit from us @AhoyDelBoy?!?

Now that I can post pics again, here's one I came across this week of C+D's honeymoon.

Elspwth surely that can’t be C and D?? They actulook quite normal and happy. I have never seen that. Where did you find it? The woman doesn’t really look like Diana.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2018 08:49

Oh I've seen that photo! It is her, if you look carefully.

The story of Princess Louise (Victoria's daughter) and her illegitimate son is fascinating mainly because it is so well hidden. The lady who tried to write her biography constantly found dead ends in her search, potential info had been sent to Windsor's archives, Louise's file was closed, the child's descendents cannot get dna checked, etc. It seems pretty strange when Louise died so long ago!

FATEdestiny · 24/12/2018 09:31

I'm intrigued by this picture of Henry VIII in the article about illegitimate children. What is that protrusion from under his waist band supposed to be? Is it meant to be his... ahem? (sorry to lower the tone)

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 09:32

Haha Queen I must have forgotten to mention that although I’m sure I mentioned Diana’s secret daughter that the New Idea managed to expose a couple of weeks back Hmm

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 09:33

Haha I think so FATE I don’t see what else it could be Shock

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/12/2018 09:35

That's his codpiece though it may be false advertising!

@Clankboing I watched a doc on Queen Victoria's children a few years ago and thought Louise and Vicky the most interesting by far. Louise was very artistic and went to art school and Vicky was highly intelligent, far more so than her brother. The idea of Victoria II is certainly intriguing!

Princess Louise died aged 91, not bad for a long term smoker. She owed the local tobacconist 15 shillings.
In looks, she always reminds me of Geordie comedian Rose Noble.

Kate’s Christmas Day Outfits Xmas Smile

PawneeParksDept · 24/12/2018 09:44

Seeing Kate paying in The Range I wonder what on earth it says on her Debit Card were mine would say :

Ms PWN Parks

They wouldn't exactly be able to fit the whole shebang in could it REALLY be ?

Mrs C Cambridge ?

PawneeParksDept · 24/12/2018 09:47

Victoria's children had it hard really she was quite disinterested and only had so many because they were the unfortunate consequence of sex

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 09:47

I would say Mrs Catherine E Cambridge, or some variation of that 🤷🏼‍♀️

WindyWednesday · 24/12/2018 09:48

I think it must be Mrs Cambridge. Ive known Duchesses before to the their title and underneath Mrs X. But that was in the days of cheques.

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 09:48

unfortunate consequence of sex

Grin
PawneeParksDept · 24/12/2018 10:01

You laugh but it's true DelBoy!

Upon Princess Vicky's marriage, she wrote to her mother and spoke of marital bliss and Victoria wrote back something like

"NOW you understand all I ever wanted was for it just to be me and your father but all you children were always in the way"

Words to that effect

Pupsiecola · 24/12/2018 10:21

I take that except of HMQ's speech to be a reference to all the meanness around MM. (Is she now Meghan Sussex?).

AhoyDelBoy · 24/12/2018 10:28

Shock Pawnee I guess they didn’t have much choice back then if they wanted children or not!

BigGreenOlives · 24/12/2018 10:51

Wasn’t Harry’s surname Wales when he was in the army?
