That is a fabulous colour, sort of oyster. I could definitely see Meghan in it.

Rhubarbisevil · 23/12/2018 22:58

I love Alice Temperley. The John Lewis collection is lovely and she also has an outlet at Bicester as does... Victoria Beckham.

Andrew is looking a trifle ...err... Porchy there....

I reckon that underneath the posh Christmas Day coats the RF are rocking Christmas Jumpers.

I wonder if they do elf on the shelf?

Want2bSupermum · 23/12/2018 23:00

To dress a duchess... DofS, post maternity this dress is fab. I also like the front of this and would alter the back with a modesty panel.

Over the summer Reiss had a really nice pale pink dress with puffy sleeves that came down to mid forearm. It was lovely and looked so good on my friend. I can't see it online.

Good friend has an outfit which she wore to her sons first Christmas performance (love her dearly and after 11 years of trying for a baby I'd be dressing up too!) which I think would look amazing on DofC. Websites aren't working annoyingly.

Parker231 · 23/12/2018 23:17

I’d have both DoC and DoS wearing trousers more for formal events. I’m pleased to DoS wearing them frequently so hopefully others in RF will copy.

On a slightly different topic, I wouldn’t have George and Charlotte in some of those old fashioned handdowns. They was a picture of Charlotte in a pretty dress at a horse event, she looked overdressed compared to the Philips and Tindall children who were racing around in jeans.

pisspawpatrol · 23/12/2018 23:21

That last photo of Andrew looks quite a lot like Peter Phillips.

itswinetime · 23/12/2018 23:36

Well apparently Kate's spare time isn't spent sorting Christmas she was spotted doing so last minute shopping in what I have now learnt is the 'poor mans John Lewis -the range.' I know she has protection officers but she's brave ours is hell on a normal weekend let alone this close to Christmas Xmas Wink

That article didn't have photos so I stole them from the sun so people didn't have to click

Amazing! Love her jacket.

Looking forward Meghan at Home Bargains next Christmas.

itswinetime · 24/12/2018 00:19

Preview of the queens speach well it's a picture and some quotes but still looks like it's all going to be about the importance of helping each other out and treating others well. Which is fitting both for the country and the royals as they are stepping up to help the queen.

royal family Instagram

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 24/12/2018 00:27

Urgh that’s a bit off, taking pictures of the woman while she’s just trying to do a bit of shopping.

I’m not a royalist but I think they have the right to go out and do the Christmas shopping without someone indiscreetly taking a photo with their iPhone- especially as if it came out that DoC/DoS sent staff out to Harrods or F&M to do the shop for them, there would be crowing about how out of touch they were.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2018 02:19

The pictures on the Queen’s desk are always telling.
There is one of her & Phillip with Charles as a baby.
I wonder whether she has photos of the 2 royal brides on the est of the desk.

itswinetime · 24/12/2018 02:31

I thought that Curly, I'm not sue we will see the brides for fear of whatever the media would read in to it kate it further forward than Meghan on some other bull shit.

I'm wondering if it will be older family shots. We seem to be have a gradual transition of power and the message it's self is about family. I think the queen and the powers that be are aware that a change in power when it comes will be a difficult time for the royals I think the photos will be a way of reminding people while the queen has been a constant so have those around her! Or lots of cute baby shots that's always a winner too Xmas Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/12/2018 02:37

Would love to see this Roksanda dress on Kate
I think she would wear with black shoes, but I would like a tbar as opposed to a court shoe.

This is the perfect evening gown for Meghan

Her silhouette but with some colour. Need to find some statement earrings to go with it....

LOL Meghan at Home Bargains! I agree it’s a bit off sneakily photographing Kate I know I certainly would not photograph her if I saw her out and about in Homebase, but it’s happened many times before when she has popped into Tesco or wherever so I reckon she half expects it, to be honest I think photos like that do them the power of good, people can relate to her more, it makes them a bit more normal and relatable and that’s no bad thing considering how far removed from normal life they are, she probably enjoys having a mooch around the shops surrounded by normal people from time to time I expect.

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 06:22

Kate’s jacket is a Barbour - country uniform. She looks good in it, though. I end up looking like a muddy gentleman farmer.

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 06:27

I’ve just clicked on the insta link - thanks itswinetime! See, the Royals do read this thread. We’ve been saying that Her Maj is not maternal and, lo and behold, a photo of her as a young mum with a beautific smile on her face appears. Philip seems to be holding Charles like a glove puppet, though.

TipseyTorvey · 24/12/2018 06:38

Happy Christmas Eve everyone. Just found this lovely montage (apologies if already posted) the bbc BBC News - Prince Charles: 70 years in 70 pictures
www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-46150569 - Prince Charles was quite dapper in his youth and some nice ones of Di and the Queen as well.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 24/12/2018 06:56

Thank you everyone- I’m not very good at clothes (especially for myself) so I’ve enjoyed looking at the potential outfits. That’s a lovely retrospective Tipsey

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 07:31

Good, the link works.

Here is some more info about Kate’s shopping trip to The Range. Apparently George and Charlotte were with her too. www.instagram.com/p/BrwOh5rASl7/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=cpuc2s4l2y4v

Rhubarbisevil · 24/12/2018 07:38

Blimey, I’m going for it this morning!!

Dress A Duchess...

Here are the Bouvier sisters (Jackie Kennedy and her sister Lee) in the 1970s. This photo looks like it was taken yesterday. Kate on the left, Meghan on the right. What do you think?

Want2bSupermum · 24/12/2018 07:39

Curly The Reiss dress I'm trying to find that my friend has is very similar to the dress you have by Roksanda except it's £200! I think that soft pink would look good on either of them.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 24/12/2018 07:44

That photo of Jackie & Lee could have been taken yesterday!

Clionba · 24/12/2018 07:47

I agree with pp, I wouldn't take a picture of Kate out shopping, it's a bit intrusive.
I wonder if she bought all the presents there? Tonight will HM and the D of E be opening some bargain gift?

WipsGlitter · 24/12/2018 07:54

Apparently the royals like a joke / bargain gift. You do wonder with all those people there if they do secret Santa!
