Early on in the relationship, Diana told her that it would never work out with her and Edward!

Did she really? But let's face it, a lot of people probably thought that due to certain rumours!

I've also heard Diana thought Sophie very ordinary and plain and used to get annoyed by the comparisons! Looking back I think it was more Sophie's hairstyle than anything, and she looked a lot like Jill Dando too.

I didn’t hear that about Diana and Sophie.
I did t think they mixed that much as Sophie married in after Diana died.
I think the press would have been desperate for a Diana replacement.

I'm on a train with poor WiFi so won't be able to partake in Style a Duchess just yet but a line that I think is very Marklesque is Cefinn. Lots of minimalist yet elegant clothes in colours Meghan favours but I doubt we'll ever see her in anything from there as it's Samantha Cameron's line!

Ok, here are my contributions for dress a duchess.
Evening dress Halston Heritage with an updo like a French pleat.

For day, I’d like to see her in a white pantsuit, with a silk shirt rather than pounding waistcoat. She looked amazing in those flared pants in Cypress.

I followed Emma Weymouth on instagram for a bit but she was such a showoff I gave up after a few days!

Sophie was second female in precedence wasn’t she at one point? Before Charles married Camilla? Think that’s probably why she’s a favourite - she was the only DIL for quite a while.

Yes Sophie used to watch TV with HM a lot when they both lived at BP before the refurbishment.
Also apparently they’re both interested in military history.

I think the Queen was really nice to her after she almost died in childbirth. That was when the tradition of Sophie riding in the car on Christmas Day happened, she was too weak to walk.

@CurlyWurlyTwirly brilliant post earlier. One can only admire the creativity and only a few slip ups, 'Sir Fellowes' being one. Apart from the very obvious manners issue. Does anyone recall the poster from a while back who posted interior shots of 'her' - apartment which turned out to be a boutique hotel?
