I think we may have broken the Bentley Skinner website guys, i can't get that link to open Grin

Found this article while I was trying to find out how much potential there is for tiaras to be adjusted to fit the wearer (this is my pet theory as as to why the Royal ladies often seem to choose the same tiaras every time)

To be fair, although Kate has her share of nasty press experiences she hasn't had anything like the baptism of fire Megan is going through - maybe Charles just wants to stick up for her.

Although as the eldest child, William may have been less sheltered than Harry from some of the shenanigans around his parents' divorce, so it may also be that Kate is influenced by that. That's complete and utter speculation, though.

LaurenDisorderAtChristmas · 21/12/2018 17:09

Olenna it's a bargain at £145,000 Grin

queenofarles · 21/12/2018 17:13

dontcallmecharlotte I totally agree, Eugenie looked regal in her tiara.

Does the RF own any Tiaras by Chaumet?
I saw a few of thier Tiaras in an exibtion a few years ago, they are the most beautiful tiaras I've ever seen.
this is my favorite

Moononthehill28 · 21/12/2018 17:17

I also agree about Eugenie. That tiara just looked amazing on her.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 21/12/2018 17:19

Eugenie was the most glorious bride. Happiness just oozed out of every pore.

Spudlet · 21/12/2018 17:23

I think I might start keeping my vitamins and paracetamol in this in future...

Tortycat · 21/12/2018 17:23

I love that the tiara page linked above mentions how a tiara changes your posture. I pull up straight and hold my stomach in with just an imaginary one!!

ajandjjmum · 21/12/2018 17:25

I wonder if the Middletons would have historically thought Diana was very poorly treated (as did many in the UK), and there is almost an inbuilt reservation with Charles. Has to be well hidden now in view of their daughter's position.

Pure supposition obviously!

Spudlet · 21/12/2018 17:25

Eugenie looked lovely in that tiara - it suited her so well. I liked that it was a little different, and I love emeralds so was always going to like it. And it complimented her dress so well!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 21/12/2018 17:25

I agree, Beatrice showed how to wear a tiara. I think it's because she just looks royal, also she's not quite as slim as other royal ladies (obviously still slim overall!) and I think the proportions were just all right.

IdaBWells · 21/12/2018 17:37

Apologies to return to topics a few pages back but with the difference in time zones (I am on Pacfic Standard Time) I am still asleep for half the conversation each day! Just to say I think the Virgin Bride theory is absolutely right and explains the Di/Charlie marriage more than anything else. In fact if he had to have a virgin he was pretty much doomed to have a large age gap marriage and it would’ve only got worse if he hadn’t married Diana! Thank goodness that nonsense is behind us.

IdaBWells · 21/12/2018 17:41

Eugenie and Jack looked so happy, they seem a very likeable pair. I bet their kids will be adorable too.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 17:51

Hmm, 2 things about Fergie's card strike me as slightly unusual. Firstly she and Andrew still send joint cards even though they've been divorced over 20 years?

Secondly, I assumed Eugenie and Jack would've sent out their own cards after they married. I'm sure Princess Anne's cards (if she does them) aren't signed by Peter and Zara and their spouses!

I do think that Andrew and Fergie will get back together eventually. For companionship if nothing else.

They seem to be really amicable and Beatrice and Eugenie seem to have reaped the benefits of that co-parenting relationship. Or have I got my rose-tinted specs on there?

Ktay · 21/12/2018 18:02

Poor Fergie doesn’t even feature in any of those six photos or am I missing something?!

IdaBWells · 21/12/2018 18:29

Maybe when Charles is King, Fergie will be invited for Christmas. He has been forgiven an awful lot and Andrew seems to hold no grudge at all. Perhaps even when Philip is no longer with us?

IdaBWells · 21/12/2018 18:30

Andrew's bearskin is a very peculiar shape, like an inverted vase.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 18:34

Yeah that's the third odd thing @Ktay. Bless her but it all seems a bit desperate.

I think the York’s have always considered themselves to be a Family, and Jack is just part of that. It’s rather sweet.
The card however is more of a brochure!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/12/2018 18:39

Would be lovely if Eugenie gets pregnant too. Must be lovely to be a young mum. (Most people I know; self included, had babies in their late 30s early 40s)

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/12/2018 18:48

Kate looks exquisite in that picture, her make up is beautiful, and those earrings are to die for.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/12/2018 18:52

Here’s a little treat for my gown loving fellow Royalistas. A rewind; not too far back.
There was a pre wedding dinner in 2011 for all the Royals in town for Will & Kate’s wedding. Some of the frocks here
