Excellent points, @Spudlet and others about Charles and Diana. Although it certainly didn't shock at the time, people got married younger. I think people grew up a bit quicker. 19 was not considered a child. Many people left school at 16 and would have been working for 3 years by that age. Good points by pp about the Spencers, though.

I wonder if any of those tiaras would have been worn as a presentation at court, or even to a Coronation? I love that they have the option to be necklaces as well - double the use for your money
