I think Charles is more likely to uninvite Andrew that to invite Fergie! Very odd to send w family card that fergie isn't is especially as with the wedding this year there must have been a family portrait done!

itswinetime · 21/12/2018 18:57

Great photos Curly to think Beatrice and Eugenie got those dresses so right but the ones for the big day so wrong! Nice to see Sophie in something she used to wear I used to love her style but lately it's not what is was!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/12/2018 19:10

Maybe when Charles is King, Fergie will be invited for Christmas

I'll be very surprised if she is. You're right that Charles has been forgiven a lot, but what he expects for himself and what he chooses to extend to others can sometimes seem very different things

FWIW I wouldn't expect the Middletons to be included either, though I wonder if that will change when W&K are on the throne

TipseyTorvey · 21/12/2018 19:20

Been out for a few days so sort of placemarking but have to say I'm loving the way these threads are almost philosophically debating the point of monarchy in a kindly way whilst also happily commenting on the styles. It's my ideal of a great female night out - plenty of intelligent political and socio -economic debate interspersed with 'ooh yes but did you see her shoes' love it! Like pp have said though these threads are awakening me to JUST how much money and land they have I had no idea about. Perhaps it is time for the monarchy to slim down drastically once HM passes on. She's a phenomenal force of nature and I really admire her, but she's from a bygone age and Charles just isn't going to inspire the same loyalty methinks.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 19:28

I doubt it! Isn't Fergie apparently not keen on Camilla because she saw everything Diana went through? That's allegedly the real reason Camilla didn't go to Eugenie's wedding though we'll never know how true that is!

In other news, I've purchased a jumper in Meghan green!

Ooo nice Queen. Pics please!

Clionba · 21/12/2018 19:37

Where from, QueenOfTheAndals?

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 19:43

I can't find any pics online as it was a charity shop purchase. Karen Millen for £8.50 so I can't complain!

Eugenie was the most glorious bride. Happiness just oozed out of every pore.

Absolutely. She was clearly in love.

katekat383 · 21/12/2018 19:45

...IS clearly in love.

Rhubarbisevil · 21/12/2018 19:50

🥂🍸🍸🍸 for the @tipseytorvy party!

OlennasWimple · 21/12/2018 19:59

Looking at the chandeliers that Kate wore to the Charles birthday party and pondering how much they are worth...

These emerald drops from our new favourite website are but £57,500

Shock

Anniversary present for Eugenie, eh Jack? Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/12/2018 20:00

How much does a 'tequila ambassador' earn @OlennasWimple?

TipseyTorvey agree with everything you say! Yes about the enormous wealth, property and land but especially houses! PC has Highgrove in Gloucestershire, Clarence House in London, Birkhall in Scotland, Llwynywermond in Wales and doesn’t he have a place at Sandringham? Then likes to be served and has 40 odd personal staff, plus the royal train carriage plus use of the helicopter etc. It’s almost comical how he then is praised for picking up rubbish from the beach and conserving resources 😂

Oh and p.s. the house mentioned in Romania plus he raised money to save a historic home in Scotland that he has a private flat in for his personal use any time.

Paradyning · 21/12/2018 20:14

Bargain!

Quantumblue · 21/12/2018 20:17

Oh dear I joined the royal dreams brigade last night with a dream about Albert of Monaco. He was proposing to me and it was like a job interview with a formal statement of what was expected and what I would get. Think I was channeling poor Charlene.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/12/2018 20:23

Albert of Monaco is about as attractive as a bank manager.
I just cannot see what Charlene saw in him. (I guess money and a title are a big draw)

frugalkitty · 21/12/2018 20:56

Oh dear Quantum not the best of dreams! I think he's probably a lovely guy but if I'm dreaming I want more than nice!! Grin
Very disappointed that the tiara website won't load for me, I'll try again tomorrow. I agree with the comment above about the diversity of discussion on these threads, makes them really interesting.

Oh God I adore all the Chaumet tiaras! There's a simple diamond one that would be my lottery win purchase - it goes with everything!

YouCouldBeMe · 21/12/2018 21:20

I do find the Christmas card odd! The girls are adults so why sign the cards from them too?

I think Fergie & Andrew are already back together & have been for a long time. I'm sure their nearest and dearest know that

Harebellmeadow · 21/12/2018 21:20

Its always very saddening getting to the wnd of comments, and everyone -has gone to sleep- is out partying so will have to wait till morn.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/12/2018 21:24

This is a 24h thread @harebellmeadow !
The Americans post late into the night and the Australians pick it up early in the morning! ( and insomniacs like me post around 3am!)

Random thoughts:

I wonder (I mean, I don’t dwell on it) if William continued the “virgin bride” theme with Kate. Obvs not really, but perhaps she only “knows” him

I think Andrew and Fergie consciously uncoupled, and because there aren’t exactly many options for either of them, are basically just content with what they have

I think Charles is going to drastically slim down the monarchy, and William will go even further. He only has one brother, and is hardly that close to his cousins. All the hangers on you see at KP these days won’t be replaced

I think the RF probably live a surprisingly basic life. Of course they’re asset rich and hardly cash poor, but I don’t think they’re extravagant in the way some might think. There are probably far more spendthrift people up and down Chelsea and Knightsbridge than them.

William definitely lucked out with Kate. Harry got played by Megan and fell for it hook, line and sinker. But good on her. Why not?
