Made sure my autocorrect didn't spoil that title...

As always, let's keep it light and avoid any spite!

I think H and Ms card is not the best. His leg looks weird,

DontCallMeCharlotte · 14/12/2018 17:24

Louis is lucky he's got shorts. My mum used to dress me in just the tights and a jumper. With a big bulging (terry) nappy. Attractive.

Moononthehill28 · 14/12/2018 17:25

I didn’t even notice the shorts and tights!! It is a bit odd, but he is such a cutie!

Hairydilemma · 14/12/2018 17:30

Blatant place-marking so I don’t miss out on any royal loveliness.

beanaseireann · 14/12/2018 17:35

I'm not sure you'd know it was Harry in the card but that could be just my phone..
Why show a bald patch ?
I don't like the tights on Louis.
Charlotte looks lovely.
I don't think George or Louis are cute/ good looking.
Not like William and Harry. They were cuties.

TSSDNCOP · 14/12/2018 17:43

I’m guessing the fact it says Love Harry and Meghan in the card settles the “who the fuck is this dude on the front” question.

Missyelliottsaysso · 14/12/2018 17:58

Give the woman a break!!

Yes please associate me with this...can’t see what she has done wrong. Find it very strange that people who have never met the couple are willing them to split up! Surely the guy deserves some happiness after his mother’s death at an early age.

I stopped reading the DM and feel better for it...utter tripe.

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 17:59

@Bloominglovely Thank you, my sentiments exactly!

The cards are all lovely, and that's probably the nicest photo ever taken of Charles and Camilla.

George grows more like Pa Middleton by the year, which bodes well for his hairline!

Delurking here, I'm mid-sixties, live in rural southwest not far from several Royal bolt holes. My mother's an avid royalist, my father the absolute opposite.
I can remember a number of Royal occasions but I think my favourite was Princess Anne's wedding to Mark Phillips.
I tend towards being Republican and strongly object to public monies supporting lesser royals including Prince Andrew and his daughters who appear to contribute very little.
I've met the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, Camilla (several times and she's lovely) and seen the Queen three times.
I love this thread for the diversity and am particularly interested in the Royal jewels.

DaffydownClock · 14/12/2018 18:20

Oh, and I reckon the Sussex's Christmas card is the equivalent of the v sign to everyone. I really think that they're going to give the establishment a right royal headache in the years to come, there's something defiant about them imo.

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 18:33

Harry's done good work with Invictus and Sentebele and Meghan's Hubb kitchen venture was successful too. I can't see what's so defiant about that!

To briefly respond to Curly's questions about us: I'm mid-40s, live in the NW, have 3 DC. Like many others on these threads, I'm pretty far from being a royalist but I do find myself drawn to reading about the RF, and love looking at their clothes (especially the DoC - I find her level of perfection oddly fascinating!).

The reason I love this thread is because it is light-hearted and frivolous (in a good way!), but at the same time full of knowledgeable posters who give lots of interesting information about RF history. It's a brilliant and strangely comforting antidote to the ongoing horror that is politics at the moment.

How though? Remember they are the Prince Andrew / Edward to William and Kate. They'll be gradually sidelined particularly as W&Ks children get older. Sophie is a workhorse but low key. Edward is invisible. They'll get the second tier stuff.

Laiste · 14/12/2018 19:14

I like the WK card shot. The sort of photo you'd have on the mantle piece. HM one? Well honestly i think he looks a funny shape! It's more of an arty image than a proper picture of them isn't it - their taste i guess.

Late 40s, 4 DDs and live up the road from Althorp House. Drive past those famous gates (covered in flowers when Diana died) all the time, but typically never been in there for a visit.

I'm not a Royalist at all, quite the opposite, and I'd be fascinated to witness the end of the monarchy and how it might come about, tbh, but it wont happen in my lifetime.

I have respect for the queen. I think Kate is doing a fantastic job of sailing between 'future queen' and 'likable normal' at the moment. Charles and Camilla - honestly? i'd like them to quietly bugger off and let the younger ones do it. But again i'm not holding my breath Grin

Max launching a boat. Seen the hat and (ferret walking) coat before, but it is livened up by the chartreuse dress ( which only Max could wear)

Betraice at a gala in New York earlier this week.
Honestly she is lucky being a non working Royal. Utterly privileged, but apart from the odd Royal occasion; she can please herself.

I'm 46, British, born a northerner, married to a southerner living in the SE. I love These threads, especially the photos of the children and sparkly bits.

Just seen the royal Christmas cards. Why does no one iron down the collars of the Cambridge children's tops ?

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 19:39

Norwegians @CurlyWurlyTwirly, Sverre-Magnus looks about 40!

Blimey Mette M needs a better bra.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/12/2018 19:41

Sorry yes!

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/12/2018 19:42

Queen Sonja is still very attractive isn't she? I thought she was about 70 but no, she's 81! She looks amazing!

That Christmas photo is the first time I’ve looked at Prince William and thought - hmmm, I wonder if he goes to the gym... he looks potentially fit!

I’m sure H+M will produce something similar in upcoming years - they don’t have a baby yet so they can’t exactly do the ‘standard family walk just happened to take this perfectly coordinated snap in the woods we’re so normal’ thing. I think it’s a lovely pic of the Cambridge’s but it’s just as contrived as H+M!

legolammb · 14/12/2018 19:46

Hear hear @Bloominglovely

Just catching up with this, so my intro... I'm early 30s and live in London. This thread has been a brilliant distraction over the past year, which has been pretty crappy for me due to serious family illness. Despite being pretty left wing and a republican in my teens, I've always been fascinated by the royals and interested in the outfits. I have some tenuous connections with the RF due to my job - I won't go into detail, but it's in my interest to keep up with what they're doing and who is in their networks. I really got interested in the RF when H&M got engaged - I was a huge Suits fan and very interested to see a mixed-race woman like me joining the RF! I also got engaged at a similar time to them so was really interested in the wedding and plan on stealing lots of their ideas, albeit on a much smaller scale Grin
