Made sure my autocorrect didn't spoil that title...

As always, let's keep it light and avoid any spite!

Kate's shoes have taken a turn for the better in recent months. No more nude pumps!

Don't forget it's the rock'n'roll generation that are heading into old folks home now

Excellent point. In fact, there is a quiet revolution going on in the US in features offered by retirement homes to appeal to Baby Boomers. As one example, many are moving away from the formal dining with tablecloths approach toward bistro casual dining with pubs and bars located in the retirement homes.

Eugenie is out this evening. Love the colour on her. Although the length is not quite right.

It's not the appropriateness of the dress that I'm Hmm at (I think it's fine)- it's the terrible fit.

As someone said earlier, I can't quite believe she walked past a stylish, various staff, a husband, even a mirror without any of them nicely pointing out that the fit of that dress wasn't right for the point in pregnancy that she's at.

She's shown that she can do smashing maternity wear with the Givenchy last week, so why that's not translating to day wear is a mystery.

BeverlyGoldberg · 18/12/2018 22:08

The photos of Meghan in Northern Ireland are beautiful. She was getting it so right before the wedding - consistently elegant and so well put together.

GrumbleBumble · 18/12/2018 22:09

Seneca my parents are keen to remind me that although they are in their (early) 70s they were Beatles, Stones, Hendrix fans back in the day and aren't going to suddenly love Mantavarni just because they are now old.

Want2bSupermum · 18/12/2018 22:20

Well I just hope she finds a stylist she likes to work with. The current stylist isn't working out so well.

If I were her I would be borrowing a maternity dress or two from the DofC and it would absolutely be a picture that said a thousand words.

Moononthehill28 · 18/12/2018 22:25

I wonder if she actually has a stylist at all. Perhaps she’s still taking advice from Jessica Mulroney?

RosinaAlmaviva · 18/12/2018 22:30

£1000 for polyester! Shock

Agree with PP re: the dress. I liked the coat so if I'd been Meghan's stylist would probably have gone for a grey-and-pink theme with a dress to match the clutch. I think the shoes are too lightweight for the coat so might suggest burgundy boots. Maybe burgundy velvet?

Meghan's hair and makeup looked really lovely, as did her calligraphy, so there's that.

Pupsiecola · 18/12/2018 22:44

Another one clutching at straws here, but perhaps she is suffers from fluctuating fluid retention which makes for a bit puffy at times? I know I had this. I wonder if the dress fitted better earlier in the day Confused.

FlyMayBaubles · 18/12/2018 22:44

Very good point about the entertainers having seen it all, and the current crop of OAPs being the first wave of the R & R generation. I've already picked out my own retirement property. It's got its own restaurant, bar and a gin terrace GinWineCake

CrookedMe · 18/12/2018 22:47

I am loving Eugenie's look these days. It's pretty low key but nicely grown up. Her confidence has soared.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 22:54

Well quite @FlyMayBaubles, pensioners who listened to the Stones and The Who aren't going to want to hear Dame Vera Lynn blasted through the speakers all day!

Yes I've seen reports of the rather obvious coat flick.

Meh, she knows what people want. They wan the bump, so she'll give 'em the bump.

Notmyrealname85 · 18/12/2018 23:06

I know this isn’t positive Confused by you can be the opposite of Kate and still stylish... that dress was very Towie

Seriously, is anyone advising her?! Is there a way we can find out who’s on the payroll?

Moononthehill28 · 18/12/2018 23:09

I noticed the coat flick too. I wonder if she wants to wear tight clothes to emphasise her pregnancy

AhoyDelBoy · 18/12/2018 23:20

Have we seen this regarding Meghan’s Instagram account Shock link in bio to full article. She was obviously popping on to have a look. I hope she didn’t read any of the comments that people make over there. Some of them are really just ridiculous.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/12/2018 23:47

I wonder if she actually has a stylist at all. Perhaps she’s still taking advice from Jessica Mulroney?

I thought Mulroney calls herself a "stylist"? Though on what basis goodness only knows ...

And yes, YahBasic, I noticed the same thing

youngestisapsycho · 18/12/2018 23:55

I like Meghan’s dress..... and you know what? Maybe, just maybe, she likes it too... I mean she is wearing it. She chose to, maybe she actually finds it very comfortable, her choice. Sure she could not give a shit what a load of strangers on Mumsnet think 🤔

Bejazzled · 19/12/2018 00:25

Oh well youngestisapsycho has spoken, let's close the thread Hmm

I find it really interesting reading about the styles and lifestyles, like a mumsnet version of OK

Notmyrealname85 · 19/12/2018 00:25

youngestisapsycho and how would that affect this thread? It’s literally a thread reviewing clothing...

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 19/12/2018 00:47

I wonder if she wants to wear tight clothes to emphasise her pregnancy

Aye, but there's a difference between clothes that are designed to be flattering while having a tight fit and something that is just plain too small for the person wearing it.

I have the same kind of short waist as DoS and pregnancy is the only time I feel confident wearing tight fitting clothes, as I finally have a shape instead of just going straight from ribs to hips.

FlyMayBaubles · 19/12/2018 01:36

That photo of Eugenie looks as though she is wearing a dressing gown. What a shame because the rest of the outfit looks quite chic. Not a fan of the oversized duster look here.

IdaBWells · 19/12/2018 04:42

I am of Queen's philosophy and many old-timers on these threads. I like the jolly, chatty atmosphere around here for some daily light relief. There are plenty of other places on Mumsnet and over at the Daily Mail for those who want to indulge in some negative gossip. Let's keep one little corner of the internet for escapism Smile.

chumsnet · 19/12/2018 06:14

Poor Meghan, that is one fugly frock.

Jessica Mulroney is on Instagram and let’s just say it’s fairly obvious she is not a friend a princess can trust.
