Made sure my autocorrect didn't spoil that title...

As always, let's keep it light and avoid any spite!

If you must moan about her mannerisms/touching the bump etc could you please do it elsewhere so we can keep this lovely long-running thread nice and light

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 16:51

@katekat383 If you want to start your own thread about her bump touching go ahead. I just think it's a bit pointless to keep going on about it on a thread that's mainly about clothes. Just like it was pointless a few threads ago when people kept talking about how thin Kate was.

@Housewife2010 a jewel wrap dress would have looked amazing, you're totally right.

itswinetime · 18/12/2018 16:53

I’m actually beginning to think she’s deliberately trying to look unphotogenic.

If that is her trying to be Unphotogenic I'm jealous Grin it's not a great dress I agree but she looks beautiful still. If she was trying to spoil the photos which I think is what you mean she would have work the dress from the hub a few weeks ago.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 18/12/2018 16:53

I think she would look better in slim fitting trousers, same coat and a top that showed off her bump.

Problem with jersey wrap dresses is they can be unforgiving from the rear. MM needs a good mirror that shows her all angles and a decent stylist/ladies maid/whatever.

Kate looked fab pregnant but she is tall and has a long torso. MM v different shape and it is more of a challenge to dress well when pregnant for her. I am similar shape to MM and let us just say I didn't look my best when pregnant Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 16:57

I know what you mean @mrscampbellblackreturns, if you've got a short torso then wrap dresses might not look great. I think the one she's wearing today might've looked ok if she'd gone up a size or two.

Brinsworth House is part of the Royal Variety Club, of which HM is currently patron - I imagine she’ll take on the whole lot?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 18/12/2018 16:58

If people want to talk about the bump touching why on earth shouldn't they?

Because, as Queen says, it's clearly something she does and after being mentioned on so many threads now, it is getting a little tedious.

By the way, every time I type "Queen" now, in my head it's in a Scouse accent (and I'm from deepest Surrey).

WindyWednesday · 18/12/2018 17:03

Even if the dress fitted, the low square back is so odd. Unless she thought she was channelling one of the Bennet sisters.

Surely she can’t continue to wear non maternity stuff. It is so much more comfy. That’s dress must be pressing on her bump.

With an unlimited budget she would be able to look sensational in maternity wear.

CaroloftheBalls · 18/12/2018 17:03

@katekat383 Queen is quite protective of her threads Grin Well... she is the Queen after all! Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 17:04

Ah I've just read that the Queen's annual Christmas lunch is tomorrow so we'll get some car shots.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 17:06

@CaroloftheBalls Well maybe not quite protective but it's nice to keep to fashion and not bash Meghan for bump touching or Kate for being skinny etc! God knows there are enough threads on Mumsnet about all things negative!

Tedious is right, and I'd definitely rather keep this light. We get that the woman can do no right in some people's eyes, there's no need to keep hammering the point. And I really can't muster any degree of outrage about a woman touching or not touching her stomach, pregnant or otherwise Hmm

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 17:10

More Swedish shots, Estelle is a joy! Madeleine looks beautiful but I prefer Sofia's red dress (though not the matchy-matchy shoes).

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 18/12/2018 17:26

Sofia definitely wins that photo (and in life, generally, let's face it Grin) but I'd love to get a closer look at Madeleine's dress which looks a bit Erdem-y.

Love a birra Erdem, me.

Housewife2010 · 18/12/2018 17:27

Thanks TheDistantSky. Maybe I should offer my services to Meghan as her pregnancy stylist? Fab way to earn some extra money!

ElspethFlashman · 18/12/2018 17:28

It IS Erdem! I knew it!

Silvia looks fab in her usual shiny jewel tones. She looks fantastic for 75.

I really don't like the high collar on Victoria's dress.

Chris is becoming a bit........ prosperous looking, isn't he? (That's my mother in laws term, lol)

Moononthehill28 · 18/12/2018 17:36

Oh dear. I will try harder!

WipsGlitter · 18/12/2018 17:47

I've just seen the back. That is even worse than the front. I'd be really upset when I saw the photos. It looks painfully uncomfortable!

Gosh I feel guilty because I hate to be critical of Meghan she gets too much stick as it is but that dress is surely her style failure of 2018.

Unseasonable

Really doesn't flatter her and doesn't suit her pregnancy

Those shots with her coat off do her no justice and are caused by an extremely ill fitting dress

Becles · 18/12/2018 18:20

@ElspethFlashman I love your MIL. Have decided to adopt her phrase prosperous looking is the only way to describe me going forward 😋

Want2bSupermum · 18/12/2018 18:24

I think DofS's stylist must hate her by the looks of that dress. It really is awful and a £50 dress from Dorothy Perkins would look better. The coat is good.
