Made sure my autocorrect didn't spoil that title...

As always, let's keep it light and avoid any spite!

I'm not keen on the Brock dress, it's a very poor fit, especially for £1000!
I'm hoping there is a retired dresser there who offers to let the back out for her! Xmas Wink

OlennasWimple · 18/12/2018 13:06

I figure that MM is struggling with a rapidly changing body shape (probably for the first time - she's always been slim, from what I've seen of her younger photos). I remember when I was pregnant I grew in fits and starts - so I'd buy something new that worked for a couple of weeks then overnight it wouldn't even do up. Maybe she has the same issue (though if anyone were well placed to help manage that problem...)

CrookedMe · 18/12/2018 13:10

Tell you what, there's nothing could make me bow to a woman who has been royal for about 20 minutes! Or any royal TBH, but definitely not in this instance!

Thesearmsofmine · 18/12/2018 13:15

I don’t think it matters who pays for it. People see the dress costs £1000 and it jars especially at this time of year when people are feeling broke and their in uncertainly for many with Brexit looming.

Thesearmsofmine · 18/12/2018 13:16

there is*

That’s what I get for typing while talking.

Haworthia · 18/12/2018 13:16

Oh blimey, that dress! It makes her look like she has back fat spilling over and also like it’s caught under her shoulder blades. What a strange choice.

gingercat02 · 18/12/2018 13:20

I'm usually a fan of Megs clothes, I love plain, simple, tailored things. However that is wrong in so many ways. It's too small (It gives her back fat!) Not suitable for a daytime event (imo) or a blustery December day in the UK and wtf is she not is some fabulous maternity wear by now. Coat and shoes are gorgeous

itswinetime · 18/12/2018 13:24

Said it before will say it again she needs a seamstress and a stylist that knows the high street. The dress itself isn't that bad if it fit and if it wasn't £1000. I can't understand why she hasn't been set up with these unless she is trying to keep one last bit of freedom/control?

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 13:31

I wouldn't bow or curtsey to any of them, HM included!

She needs to borrow some of Kate's pregnancy wardrobe.

BlingLoving · 18/12/2018 13:35

I'm not wild about the dress - although haven't spotted a picture sans coat yet - but that coat? I love it.

My sister spent Christmas when pregnant walking around in nothing but jeans, t-shirt and an open coat as she was so hot all the time - so I can easily imagine Meghan is fine. She also found if she wore even a single layer too many, the moment she went inside she'd be sweating and flushed. Again, I can imagine meghan being worried about that.

The curtsey is just awful. Please please please can Charles make that the first thing he says publicly when he's king - please don't curtsey except to monarch in exceptional circumstances. Or maybe, it's more appropriate for William to say something in a speech or something when he becomes Prince of Wales.

@katekate - Meghan will never be princess of wales. It will be Katherine then, theoretically, George's wife.

whatswithtodaytoday · 18/12/2018 13:40

I wonder if we'll see that dress again when she's not pregnant? It's very pretty, but absolutely too tight and an odd choice, even for a doubtless boiling hot old people's home. Fantastic coat though.

Perhaps I missed it, but the make up artist Hannah Martin mentioned a few pages back also did the DofC wedding make up. She's recently left Bobbie Brown and is now freelance. I've followed her for ages and love her looks, very fresh and sparkly.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 13:45

Kate wore LK Bennett at her last engagement, but the plaid skirt she wore before that was Emilia Wickstead and cost over £1000. And at Meghan's last daytime engagement she wore a Club Monaco dress. So I think they both go for a mixture of high street and high end.

Bling on Rachel Englishs twitter linked above theres a brief clip showing the back of the dress. It's..... Not Good.

But I think it's nuts to say she can't figure out how to dress her shape, her shape is totally generic now she's popped! She's practically like an ASOS Maternity model!

WipsGlitter · 18/12/2018 13:58

Blimey that dress is terrible - creased and way too tight! There would be no give in it at all.

CrookedMe · 18/12/2018 14:01

In the video clip that dress is truly dreadful!

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 14:06

Before her pregnancy it looked like she kept wearing a size up, now it looks like she's going a size down!

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 18/12/2018 14:07

Sounds like she only met 4 residents. Is that normal? There are 36 in there. There must be more than 4 who are active!

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 14:11

I assumed just 4 were captured on camera but she would've met them all.

With Meg's showbiz background, Brinsworth House will be hoping for her patronage, hence the curtseying. I hope they put on a good show for her! Xmas Wink

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/12/2018 14:23

I will say the coat is fabulous. It’s the only one of her wrap coats I’ve liked.
However even her bosom looks hooked up, squashed an uncomfortable. I assume that dress has a tiny bit of stretch in, otherwise she would not have been able to be zipped up.

I am really fed up that she never wears British brands. Apart from a couple of M&S things she has shunned it completely.

Sofia's dress really is fabulous, though completely agree on the shoes front.

Yep, I know. My post was badly expressed!

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2018 14:45

Not true @CurlyWurlyTwirly, she does wear british brands. Not as many as Kate does but she wore several on her tour down under.
