Me too Spudlet, we have no proper photo of us at all. Although we are not particularly photogenic. There is a photographer in my town who offers outdoors shoots though and I think our fuglyness may be tempered by being outside in a garden. Greenery is very forgiving!

My DM's friend's husband always used to jump up (well, struggle up - he was elderly) out of his chair and stand whenever a woman walked into the room for the first time, and until she sat down or left the room again.

I think this old fashioned gesture is really sweet. Now it seems, from AIBU, men don’t even stand for pregnant women on trains . Maybe it’s an outdated view, and I don’t necessarily think men should stand for all women, but obviously pregnant ones, yes.

No, she did the 2012 special one for Seb Coe after the Olympics, just after she got out of the hospital - she came on with David Beckham, but that's the only time she's been there.

Thank you for the good will wishes for my son. Sadly he hasn't made it home tonight. I also have a dilemma as I heard the nurse doing the hand over and she gave incorrect info so now the new nurse wonders why dis isn't eating better. Grrrrrr. I will have to put her straight as it isn't fair to assume dis is being difficult when he really very poorly.

I cannot imagine there ever being a reconciliation between MM and her father now - how can she ever trust him again after this behaviour, and how could he be trusted to protect the interests of his grandchild? He'd be selling baby pictures to the tabloids and all sorts. I just can't imagine them taking that risk, and he has only himself to blame.

I remember that @TyraAllen. It was a bit odd as she didn't give a speech - she just presented the award and then stood around in the background.

Piers M has Trumpian levels of pettiness. He insists she "ghosted" him after their one lunch.

Whereas I think it's the most sensible thing she's ever done. Who on earth would keep him on if one didn't have to??! He probably repelled her, smarmed at her across the table with his big shiny face glistening like a sweaty cheese. She probably couldn't get out of there fast enough!

According to Piers M he chatted with her Meghan via social media then she stopped after starting to date Harry. But of course she would stop - she could hardly continue chatting to somebody in the media whilst dating royalty. Personally I feel as if he (Piers) sounds a bit idiotic whinging about this when the circumstances are obvious. He uses it as proof that she uses then dumps people.

Seems that the pettiness has whirlwhinded into the Thomas Markle interview and God knows what else next.

He calls her a social climber because she wanted him as a contact, then dumped him. Thomas Markle comes across as a bit of a sad character, kind of overwhelmed. Maybe he'd stop if she was in touch? Who knows, it's all such a mess.

Piers M may have been hoping he'd be Meghan's favourite journalist/confidant a la Richard Kay. If Meghan ghosted him, it only shows her good judgement.

As for Thomas Markle, if he really wants a relationship with his grandchild he needs to win back Meghan's trust, not grandstand for the media. She's in a very difficult position. If she doesn't talk to him, he goes to the press, but if she does talk to him, he goes to the press.

I've also been lurking for a while. Definite Royalist - studied History so I think it must all stem from that. Late 20s and in the final stages of pregnancy - I think reading through I am the youngest to intro so far? Love learning about the European royals on these threads!

DM is/was a big fan of Diana and my GM is a big fan of the royal family, dislikes Diana and reads the Daily Mail - it's a fun mix! Personally I love HMQ and am a big fan of the younger royals and I found out I was pregnant the day of H&M wedding - so that was an emotional day watching all the cute children in the wedding party!
