Arghh just lost a post...was popping in to wish you better melen and to say Bravo to cherries!
Hope @ella and @never are managing with the dreaded lurgi too.
My second parcel is going back I don’t love how anything looks on me these days (due to weight gain) so I’ll give up for now I think 🤔

SoyYo · 12/12/2018 14:31

soups get better soon too Flowers
And laska more Flowers to you we totally get your need for space and reflection

ilovecherries · 12/12/2018 14:33

Poor you, len. Hope you start to feel better soon.

UtahGirl12 · 12/12/2018 21:47

Gin I really suffered from breast pain before my periods. I have taken starflower oil and agnus castus for the last few year which has sorted it out completely. I needed to take them for about 3 months before they made a difference, and I cannot stop taking them if I want the pain to stay away. On the odd times I have not taken them, (ran out of tablets etc) I get terrible terrible PMS symptoms, so i think they alleviate that as well. I'm now 50 and only had 1 period this year, and no real menopausal symptoms, not sure if that is coincidental or not.

Have a google of starflower oil and agnus castus.

twosoups1972 · 12/12/2018 22:53

Hope everyone is feeling well today Smile

Back to Hush - I was having a look at their jumpers in JL the other day and was drawn to the grey 3D star jumper which is down to £55. Does anyone have this?

And....scarves. I am totally in love with the Wyse London cashmere scarves from John Lewis but can't spend £159 on a scarf! I'm hoping they might come down in their sale.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/12/2018 22:53

Well almost time for bed but thought I would catch up :) Feeling a bit better now I am home and have a my days off now. We are set for snow on Saturday here - quite heavy but I think it will be a one day wonder if it appears at all. Looking forward to it - out with the winter knitwear and love the idea of it looking all Christmassy. Bet it doesn't happen!!!
Anyway, not bought anything over this week [which is good for me] as I a have a few expenses coming up. I have bought mostly everything for Christmas though when my ds comes it will also be an expense. Was totting up Christmas gifts at work and am surprised how much its adding up to. I think I have spent £40 on gifts for secret santa, office staff, classroom assistants. That excludes gifts for the children in my class which could be another £20. I think this must be the most its been or maybe that's an ok amount? What does everyone else do at workplaces?

neveradullmoment99 · 12/12/2018 22:56

@twosoups. it looks lovely and am surprised more people haven't been buying it. I have quite a few grey jumper so have dismissed it but it does look nice. Its a thumbs up from me.

EachandEveryone · 12/12/2018 22:58

I havent been on here for ages. Nothing has really grabbed me lately. Im just sipping my first Baileys am wondering what to buy for New Years Eve. I normally work it but im working Christmas this year😒

twosoups1972 · 12/12/2018 23:01

Thank you @never I might try it.

Snow you say?? Where are you?

twosoups1972 · 12/12/2018 23:01

Isn't this gorgeous:

neveradullmoment99 · 12/12/2018 23:02

Im near Glasgow in Scotland.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/12/2018 23:03

Its beautiful. I love the hush star one too that is charcoal and black and the leopard cashmere but the price is ridiculous.

NotAnActualSheep · 13/12/2018 09:11

Oh no len. Hope you are feeling better this morning and your cough didn't keep you up last night too. And also Ella and never and soups and anyone else under the weather.

That's interesting about the starflower/ Agnus castus Utah (which phone auto corrects to Angus Cactus which sounds like a good stage name for some scottish blues singer I reckon). I had heard those helping for dodgy/ heavy periods, but hadn't linked it to PMS symptoms before...may be worth a look.

Sorry your second parcel is similarly uninspiring soy. I'm sure it is just you not feeling the love for stuff rather than it not looking good. You always look great and very stylish in your photos! If you still have the urge to buy something you could try a lovely scarf or some jewellery to cheer you up without it mattering about a few extra pounds (which I'm sure only you notice anyway!!) - though probably may as well wait to Christmas now.

Soups it is a lovely jumper. Had a feel of it in JL a few weeks ago and it's really soft. Like never though, I think I have reached peak-grey-jumper. And also probably peak-clothes -with-stars-on, frankly Shock. That scarf, though...properly gorgeosu! But yes £££. Have you seen the becksondergaard huge wool/ silk ones? Not cashmere and not quite the same colours, but a similar vibe. I have a grey/ fuschia one that I got from JL in the sale one year, and it is brilliant. Really warm and huge.

I know what you mean about little things adding up never. One of the benefits of working for myself is that I don't have the workplace gift decisions to make...but agree these things can quickly add up. I'm a little wary of the forecast to be honest. I've got a few work trips next week and they have the potential to go disastrously wrong with delays caused by snow...(I'm not too far from you I think and we have it forecast too...though not where I'm going).

Happy party-clothes hunting each! What are you planning on doing?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/12/2018 09:50

Where are you from @not? [ You don't need to give too much away lol]
You may not need to worry. Its changing all the time. It still looks like heavy snow but the weather forecasters say it could change easily.

EachandEveryone · 13/12/2018 10:45

Its just a house party and no doubt ill be the only single woman! My cosin is moving up to just outside Glasgow to be nearer her daughter. Ill really miss them even though I live in London and hardly go home to Yorkshire. I have about four drinks events that week as i havent been home for a year. I want to look nice. Its hard as im back at work full time i cant be bothered to face the shops on my days off. I wonder when the sales will start?

twosoups1972 · 13/12/2018 11:27

Thank you @NotanActualSheep I've heard of those scarves before but I really want cashmere. Fingers crossed for JL's sale (sorry 'clearance' Grin)

@EachandEveryone lots of sales are already on. What sort of thing do you want? A dress maybe?

NotAnActualSheep · 13/12/2018 12:01

Ah - bless JL and their "clearances" Xmas Grin. I know what you mean - it is a lovely scarf and Wyse cashmere is supposed to be amazing. I would think there would be at least some reduction in a couple of weeks.

I'm in the large city to the east of Glasgow never! Lovely and sunny today, but arse-clechingly freezing, and with a yellow snow/ ice warning for Saturday brrrrr. You're right though that its changeable, and it seems likely to get a bit better after Sunday, so I'm not making decisions yet...

That sounds a bit of a hectic week each! I reckon a couple of new sparkly things will make you feel lovely. I know what you feel about not wanting to brave the shops. Could you bite the bullet and get a personal shopping appt at JL/ Debenhams maybe - they would do the hard work for you and would know their stock (not sure what notice you need for those, though?). Or just order a heap of stuff online in the hope some of it works? What about a jumpsuit -which you can sort of dress up or down? As we're on a hush thread, I have the Vivian which I love (was really out of my comfort zone when I bought it, but has been complemented!) and someone else really recommended this one for eating pounds (of the weight variety - I assume Xmas Grin). Or a marina skirt with a colourful jumper/ top? Or Boden has lots of smart/ casual stuff and obviously a fab delivery/ returns process if you want to go down the ordering heaps online line! Glasgow isn't the end of the world, though no matter what people say and Im sure you'll still be able to see your cousin when she moves. It is always difficult to make time to travel and see family though when you have moved away - especially when it is far enough that you feel you need to go for a longish time to make it worth travelling!

Ellapaella · 13/12/2018 12:22

@neveradullmoment99 at work we do a secret Santa for our team, there's 6 of us and we spend £20 each. We've all known each other a long time so actually know what we all like and I have to say we always get lovely presents so I'm more than happy to keep it up. It's so nice to have a surprise gift that is something you actually want! I've bought a Molton Brown bauble and Nuxe Lip balm as my gift to someone else this year.
I then buy each of my two secretary's a bottle of champagne, our dog walker a box of nice chocolates from our local independent chocolatier. DH gives his secretary a gift token for John Lewis so It all soon adds up!
My two younger DC usually make their teachers a card and we'll make some Christmas biscuits this weekend that they'll decorate and wrap up to give them on the last day of term.

I love snow ❄️ so much fun for the DC bit o have to say I work in a hospital on top of a very steep hill and it terrifies me driving there when it's snowing! I have a 4x4 but even so I get so nervous. When we had all that snow earlier this year I saw a bus literally slide backwards down the hill behind me! So if it snows I want it to be when the schools have broken up and I've got the day off!!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 13/12/2018 12:33

Me too @Ella. I also work at the top of the highest hill!!! It is ultra steep. There is now way on a really snow laden day that I would be able to get up it in my car. Fortunately the snow is forecast for Saturday.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/12/2018 12:36

@Not - yes I agree and loving the description of arse-clenchingly cold. It totally is!

GinandGingerBeer · 13/12/2018 14:48

God, it is indeed! Bloody freezing today! I'm in Yorkshire too @EachandEveryone

Thanks for rte tips Re the agnus castus & starflower oil @UtahGirl12. I've had this boob problem in the past and began taking AC, but then I eventually got my gp to remove my minera coil and as I suspected, the tenderness disappeared! Back with a vengeance now but I've just started my period again Angry only been 2 weeks since the last one.
So I will try it again combo with starflower oil and stick with it. Thanks.

Clenches arse ❄️

twosoups1972 · 13/12/2018 15:53

Well I managed to get hold of the Jigsaw jumper I was after but not in fuchsia but in a lighter pink. Can't decide whether to keep it or hang on for the fuchsia. And do you think it is too short?

twosoups1972 · 13/12/2018 15:55

I think the shape of it is really good on you. If I were tbh, I prefer the brighter shade of pink but that is personal preference. Why not keep a hold of it and the receipt and a deadline for the brighter pink one. If it comes back in stock, order that one and return the paler one?
