Thanks @ella :)

Huffthepuff · 31/12/2018 15:58

I think you've never really felt enthusiastic about the cashmere and that says a lot. I think it will be a useful thing to have though. The Toast jumper is a really unusual piece and will last you for years. I vote Toast

Huffthepuff · 31/12/2018 16:00

Saying that... I saw a picture of Sali Hughes looking amazing in the black version of your cashmere dress with a pair of leopard print boots. Made me want to order it!!

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2018 16:11

CLANG!!!! My Halo just fell off!! Toast jumper ordered .. Am Blaming Never!!

NotAnActualSheep · 31/12/2018 16:14

I've just spent the best part of a hour catching up on this thread since I last posted on boxing day(?)! And now I don't have time to post anything myself. Sooo many lovely clothes.... and glad I'm not the only one who's Halo has gone AWOL in the sales (with the virtuous exception of Laska and semi- cherries of course!). len's yellow blazer is lovely...so bright and cheerful. And soy- as everyone else has said (about 3 days ago) you look amazing in the leather leggings! And huff's embroidered jacket too...that is so unusual, in a really nice way, and you suit the shape.

I will come back later today or tomorrow, but didn't want to lose my place on the thread Grin. Hope you all have a lovely evening. We have some friends coming round for the evening with their 2year old (eeeek) and a 8.5 month bump...so hoping it'll be relatively sedate. DH has said he won't actually kick them out at 12.03... but probably close to it! each hope you manage to get your booze!!

We tried to have a healthy hogmanay family swim at our local leisure centre, but having walked down there in the howling gales, they said the pool was closed cos they didn't have enough staff, despite advertising the family session online... Gah. That'll teach us to try and be healthy...

NotAnActualSheep · 31/12/2018 16:16

Oh, never- another vote for the toast jumper I'm afraid!! Though the green one does look lovely too, and may be better for you if the itching is too much. But the toast one looks amazing on you!

dontcallmelen · 31/12/2018 16:21

Another vote for the toast jumper, it’s different & colours are lovely.
Happy new year to everyone, hope you all have a good time whatever you are doing.
Wishing you peace, joy, good health & hoping 2019 will be good to everyone😘

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2018 17:10

OOh Ive missed soy with leather leggings? (scrolled back cant see them? )

SoyYo · 31/12/2018 17:32

Just catching up with you all. Supremely chilled in Norfolk. Went out for short walk but otherwise doing sweet FA, what a lovely way to spend Hogmanay.
I’ve started on the G&T already...and we have bubbly chilling in the fridge so let’s hope we stay awake to see 2019 in! We always do and may pop out to one of the pubs a bit later if we can be arsed, just DH and I this year which is unusual as last year we hosted a party in our house in Spain (friends flew over) and the one before we spent it with a lot of family and friends in Alicante. But this cozy intimate one feels right this year, I’m looking forward to the pier fireworks tomorrow and more walks on the beach to welcome in a shiny New Year.
@never Toast jumper Vote too, it’s so unusual and amazing pattern, though I did like the cut of the Hush one wasn’t too sure on the colour (like you).
@laska how could you miss my indulgent leather leggings purchase?Grin
@melen love the happy yellow and jacket style I bet you look totally beautiful in it

To all of you wonderful ladies who have commented, posted, supported over the last year on this MN thread I want to Thank You, Muchas Gracias! You never fail to make me smile, laugh, inspire, support and amuse and 2018 was that bit better and brighter for having found you Flowers
Here’s a photo of the Norfolk skies today and my Wishes for a Happy Night whatever you’re up to.
Speak again in shiny new 2019 Wine

That’s the necklace someone recommended on here. I don’t feel very new year ish but that’s the beauty of a small gathering. It’s too cold to wear a frock! Even though I’m in Yorkshire I must have southern blood in me by now.

I can’t believe we’ve barely been off the front page here for nearly 18 months!

Laska, all is well now your 😇 has slipped. I was getting concerned. ;) I bet you look fabulous in it.

See you all next year. 💋

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2018 20:14

I definitely need to diet again !! Fish pie ....Yum.. I just ate a whole ocean's worth ..

Now settling down to catch up with ABC and Wine

AFingerofFudge · 31/12/2018 21:32

Quick news flash ! There's a pink Meryl size M on the John Lewis site. £88.
Happy New Year all you lovelies x

AFingerofFudge · 01/01/2019 09:20

Ahem, yes I was the saddo that came in from work late last night and lazed on my sofa doing a spot of online browsing 😳

Hope everyone had a great evening, I'm back at work later but will be checking in tomorrow as it looks like the Hush sale will start properly then. Good job I'm off!

Laska2Meryls · 01/01/2019 09:50

Happy New Year all..

despite Halo clanging yesterday , i think I shall be avoiding all other sale purchases now unless a couple of v old favourites come up , ( from earlier seasons , which they probably could) I'm looking towards spring now, lighter days and better times and not thinking of Fuxit looming on the horizon

I really need to reboot my diet and get back into the swing of life generally after the last few crap months ..

and saving my pennies for S/S19 (will be looking for prshots to get me excited.. )

Ellapaella · 01/01/2019 10:00

Happy New Year!
Have woken up feeling a bit tired and groggy but determined to get back to running 3 times a week and DH and I have decided to not eat meat more than 2 days a week this year. Feeling motivated... Plus it's a beautiful sunny day.
Laska I'll join you in saving up for S/S19... Didn't we have the perfect summer for buying summer clothes last year though? Don't think we can top 2018 weather wise.

dontcallmelen · 01/01/2019 11:06

Happy new year everyone, I am not spending anything until March
No sale shopping nada, if I even mention spending come & hunt me down disable my WiFi & cut my card up.
Ella me n Dh said the same thing about meat, I’m going to go on much longer walks & get back to Pilates.
It’s very grey here but not that cold, have a lovely day everyone.

ilovecherries · 01/01/2019 11:52

Happy 2019, Husheetas!

Thankfully I don’t have to do dry January as DH and I did it in 2017, were shocked at how much better we felt, so didn’t start again. Do get a notion for it now and then, but never enough to restart. So starting our third dry year.

New start-wise, I’m doing RED January and also a 30 day yoga programme. That’s the 😇 bit. On the shadow side, I will still be meat eating and I’m not joining the no-spend threads! However, I’m going to be mindful now I have a basic wardrobe that fits me and I love, and I’m going to think about how I can add value to what I already have. I also need to start winding my business down in preparation for DH’s retirement in the autumn, and think about what that means for clothing.

NotAnActualSheep · 01/01/2019 12:17

Happy New Year all! Hope you all had good evenings yesterday. Our friends left early last night (not because we are rubbish hosts allegedly.. but a tired mum and toddler who wasn't going to settle in our spare room) but we did manage to go round the corner to our "village green" (ha...nowhere near as idyllic as that sounds...more a patch of grass, probably with some contamination issues) and watch the fireworks in Edinburgh centre, which were pretty impressive. (Also some rather drunk neighbours, which reminds me why I don't go out for NYE). First time DS has stayed up, so first time for 7 years I've been able to leave the house!

I'm v impressed by the resolutions - especially len Grin. That's something I should definitely aim for! obviously not going to happen I'm also going to aim to lose weight (again...) though I'm notoriously bad for sticking to any set diet (also DH does most of the cooking, and he would feel snubbed if I tried fasting, which worked for me when I was single). So think I'm just going to try sensible eating and not raiding DSs snack cupboard and see how that goes on. Was working slowly until winter... Also, I think I'm going to try Pilates or yoga as a non-sweaty introduction to exercise. I'm far too unfit to try anything wobble-inducing.

In terms of sales, I appear to have lost control a bit...Blush. The hush lulu cashmere is lovely..the speckles are nice and subtle, and I don't think look like I've been rolling in a lint pile. But I'm just not sure it's worth £150. Will wait to see if in the actual sale. Have also gone a bit crazy in boden 20% off, and mint velvet...but in my defence, I am looking to spring, and buying "lighter" clothes. So I got a nice lightweight jacket in MV and some t shirts, and some jersey tops, a cropped cardi and pale wide leg jeans from boden and some leopard trainers. I'm also keeping the pink Heidi jumper, making 3 Heidi's...Blush .

Anyway, off for our traditional NYD walk to the pub...starting as we mean to go on..

neveradullmoment99 · 01/01/2019 13:22

Happy New Year. Have not long woken up and feeling a bit hung over!! Its a beautiful sunny day here to start 2019. It was great fun last night!!! All the kid stayed up and were entertained by their older cousin and her friend. Which meant we were left to enjoy new year and all the adult banter!!Didn't get home until 3am and kids are still sleeping. Looking forward to the hush sale. Going to return most if my sale purchases and keeping toast jumper😀😀😀

dontcallmelen · 01/01/2019 13:54

Never sounds like a really lovely way to see out the old year yeahy for keeping the toast jumper, tis lovely & really suits you.

Ellapaella · 01/01/2019 15:53

I'm sorting out my wardrobe... have a crazy amount of clothes. On the plus side I've just dug out this lovely pink cardigan that I got in last years January sales and had totally forgotten about, I don't think I've ever worn it! It's just the right colour to go with the star fray jeans (this is the first pair of Hush jeans I bought in March, they are very frayed now but I have a second pair).
'Scuse the slipper socks.
Who's having a clear out today? I think I'm going to eBay my wide green jersey top, I just haven't worn it much and every time I put it on I don't really feel it does much for me. Maybe we good do a Hush swap? 😁

A very Meryl-y Christmas to all.. Hush Christmas continued

ilovecherries · 01/01/2019 16:40

I want to look like you, Ella. How come you have such a flat stomach?!?! I think I might let some of my wide jersey tops go as well, along with my grey Scarlett jumper from last year (too itchy, still has tags on), and a charcoal Stella jumper with a blue glitter star - again, never worn, I just don’t love it on, and it doesn’t seem to work with anything else.

Ellapaella · 01/01/2019 17:05

It's definitely not flat cherries I promise - I've had two c sections and have a significant pouch and if I wore very tight tops you would see I have a round tum. I just have to carefully pick clothes that skim that part to give an illusion of flatness!
Also that mirror is at an angle pointing down so when I take a photo in it it kind of elongates my body and makes me look slimmer than I actually am I think.
I wonder if eBay will be full of clothes over the next few weeks - I bet everyone's clearing out and getting rid of things they haven't worn much!

ilovecherries · 01/01/2019 17:38

I’ve spent the afternoon clearing out my hair. I had a few that were past their best that I had saved as bad weather hair, but actually I’m ok going without hair on a nasty day - I’d rather just wear a hat to keep warm.

The rest I’ve trimmed/thinned as necessary and washed them all. My dd says that the dining room table looks like the aftermath of a bad day during the French Revolution. Have set out a few unworn ones that I purchased on Black Friday on stands to let them settle a bit so I can assess if they need any customising before I use them. It all feels very productive :)
