Huff the jacket is fabulous, bet you will get lots of wear from it I have a couple from monsoon I wear them a lot.
Soy sounds like a really lovely day & you bask in the fact that you had a really long walk, topped off with scones & a yummy smoothie.
cherries yeahy money in the bank😄
Dh bought me a new coat today, nice warm parka from superdry reduced from £150 to £104 & a bright yellow blazer from Topshop reduced from £50 to £20 have been looking for ages for a yellow jacket as have a couple of dresses it will look really good with.

Ellapaella · 30/12/2018 19:08

@PorpoisefullyObtuse no no no, you can be like me and just enjoy watching others purchases. I actually feel like I have way too many clothes at the moment, I keep seeing things I want then remembering I still have a large number of items I've still not worn yet!
I'm going to sort my wardrobe out in NYD and remind myself of all the stuff I've got.
Because I have to wear a uniform at work there are actually only so many days in the week that I get the opportunity to wear them all.
I need some nights out to wear my lovely new red faux fur coat and coated jeans - will get a chance next weekend as we have some restaurant vouchers that were a gift to use.
Not going out for NYE - will just be at home with DC, will cook a special dinner (fillet steak) and party food for dc and okay board games and some family games in the Nintendo switch. My DC love to stay up to se the new year in, after that we will have to get back into routine as at the moment we are all having late nights and late morning wake ups.
I'm back to work tomorrow 😥
What's everyone up to tomorrow evening? Anyone got a party to go to?

@porpoise of course not!

dontcallmelen · 30/12/2018 19:24

Porpoise Nah you are ok, I’m the resident hush fraud I have only ever bought a handful of stuff from hush, I just love the chat & pics.
Ella I’m having a major sort out tomorrow, my wardrobe can’t physically fit anything else in it I really need to stop now take stock & be very very selective in what I buy over the next few months.
Your NYE sounds lovely, we used to do the same when dcs were younger, I’m having dgd tomorrow night as couldn’t summon the energy to go out.

LibbyJeffries · 30/12/2018 19:30

Thanks for the advice which is what I thought. Better get my poor, creaking old credit card out of my purse though I suspect I'll be reading it's last rites pretty soon afterwards

neveradullmoment99 · 30/12/2018 19:34

Well we have been invited to SIL house for a get together with dh family. Tbh, right now, im favouring a night in like you @ella. Its what we usually do! My children have all been staying up really late too and getting up late so yes to getting back to a routine but i am still off for another week as are kids.Smile

Ellapaella · 30/12/2018 19:47

Last NYE the whole family except me had flu and were all really poorly. I watched Nanny McPhee with all 3 DC curled up on my lap while DH was in bed poorly. I drank a whole bottle of Prosecco to myself over the course of the evening but didn't bother staying up to see in the new year on my own.
So far apart from the horrible cough/sinus virus we have managed to dodge the dreaded norovirus that has been going round.
@dontcallmelen pics of TS yellow blazer when it arrives if you are happy to, it sounds lovely.
@neveradullmoment99 did you keep the forest green dress?

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 30/12/2018 19:57

Ella will post a pic tomorrow of blazer.
One NYE I spent rocking on the doorstep, as I was to drunk to get up & go indoors, I had staggered from my neighbours house as my Dh & his workmate passed me in his work van (he got called out & left the party) workmate pointed me out, remarking F**K look at the state of her Dh denied all knowledge of me & I was still on the doorstep when he returned about three hours later😳I don’t think I had a drink until June after that night.

Liveinthepresent · 30/12/2018 20:06

Wow I have missed so much chat - hope everyone’s Christmases went well. Can’t believe it’s NYE tomorrow - we are staying in with some fizz.
There are lots of lovely purchases going on ! Huff I love that jacket - gorgeous.
Also loved Cherries leather skirt but not sure if it was being returned !

Anyway checking back in to say I was a bit of a let down on my large parcel -
I am returning it all apart from the pyjamas and the lace vest.
I decided in the end the leopard Devore was gorgeous but not on me until I have shifted some weight - then I will treat myself properly so I am only buying a few bits and bobs for work mainly until I am feeling better about myself.

I must say though the Elara jumper was lovely and I would definitely have kept it if grey or black ! One to watch for the sale maybe ?

I have placed another order with the 20% though ! I have ordered the cashmere leopard scarf a PP was also coveting - I plan to give it to my best friend for her late Xmas gift but we will see how that pans out when it arrives !
Also ordered solitaire midi short dress as a work option..
Will update on the scarf when it arrives !

ilovecherries · 30/12/2018 20:16

I really don’t like NY in England, last year we were the only house in the street with lights on at midnight and we’d told the neighbours we’d be having an open house, but no one came. This year we will be watching TV with only the Xmas tree lights on. DD was meant to be going back to Scotland for NY but her friends have been very lax in confirming plans, so she’s decided to stay with us rather than potentially being stuck at home on her own, so that’s a bonus for her dad and me :)

Ella, I’m being neurotic about noro and squirting anti bac on everyone after they’ve touched a supermarket trolley or toilet door. I really can’t face the thought of it. As a nurse practitioner in my distant past I used to have a stomach of iron but I’ve def softened off, I dread vomiting bugs now.

My wardrobe is still relatively modest and under control. I send a lot back to be honest.

Huffthepuff · 30/12/2018 20:17

Ooh that scarf is lovely @Liveinthepresent I would struggle to give it away! I would like to get the cashmere star scarf but I do think it's overpriced and I've spent way too much already.

NYE will be quiet here too with DS being so little. Maybe next year I'll have a party to go to 😊

Boden and Hush orders are packed and ready to be returned tomorrow. The charcoal wrist warmers were darker than I expected and I'd prefer the light grey if I reorder in the future. Will keep the Toast skirt, John Lewis jacket and probably the Coach bag when it arrives. Undecided about the Zara coatigan but will probably return it. Then no spending for a couple of months at least! Even considering dry January 😱

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 30/12/2018 20:31

Thank you for letting me stay - I’m currently wearing my tiger T with pj bottoms. Tired after a 8k walk this morning, an age on the beach, two major house clear ups and throwing my two crazy kids into bed.

dontcallmelen · 30/12/2018 20:54

cherries I would have come, am in awe of your goodness with all the sending back, I’m hoping I don’t like most of the boden stuff I ordered so cc can recover a bit.
Live shame about your latest parcel, scarf is beautiful though.

Ellapaella · 30/12/2018 21:08

@ilovecherries yes that's me with the bleach and the anti bac spray on every surface that may have been touched by unknowns!
I find I tend to be pretty resistant to it when it's doing the rounds in hospital but if the DC have a strain going round at school I usually succumb. Funny how whenever someone in the family gets it we don't all get it though, it'll be maybe 2 or 3 out of the 5 of us. My rigorous cleaning must actually pay off.

In the village I grew up in NYE is fantastic, everyone young and old goes to the three village pubs and meets in the village centre at midnight to sing Auld Lang Syne. Once my DC are all older I'll definitely take them there for a visit over new year.
As a child we often went to my grandparents in the West Midlands - at midnight there the whole street would come out and say happy new year. We then had a tradition that we had to walk out the back door and in the front door! I loved all that as a child.

@ilovecherries and @ellapaella another anti-baccer here! I have emetophobia and always dread this time of year Sad

EachandEveryone · 30/12/2018 21:57

Im up North at the moment staying at my mothers with her and her DP.i cant stand it quite frankly, theres no sugar in the house because shes a fitness fanatic and im starving. She has a garage full of booze but everytime i go in it the alarm goes off and i look like an alcholic. Everytime she sees be in a different item of clothing she accuses me of spending money. This is the women who has recently turned her spare bedroom into a walk in wardrobe and who goes on four cruises a year.

Tomorrow I am going to Nandos with my sister and nieces and nephew. Then I will meet my Glastonbury friends for a drink and rounding it off with a get together at my cousins house. My sister is married to a Scot so they will hopefully get the dc to bed and meet up with us at midnight. New year is the only time they drink.

I hope im staggering home by the end of the night. Its been a funny old year I feel like ive only just got into my job again and they are moving me to a different hospital in the New Year so Im trying not to think about it.

Do we have a sale date yet?

dontcallmelen · 30/12/2018 22:02

Each crikey sounds a bit grim at your DMs, hope you have a better night tomorrow.

Ellapaella · 30/12/2018 22:06

An alarm on the garage door to booze supply.. ouch! That sounds like a tough visit Each!

OP posts:
EachandEveryone · 30/12/2018 22:15

She’s never been one for the holiday season.my father was the life and soul of any party and i think he used to disappear first footing for days when we were children so shes still damaged from that! Doesnt like people getting boozed. Im gasping for one. It is a funny week to visit tbf as people are broke and back at work. Ive already requested Christmas off next year!

neveradullmoment99 · 30/12/2018 23:18

I'm afraid @each I would have to smuggle my own supply into my bedroom lol!!!
Does sound a bit grim [ a lock on the garage]
Well @Ella, still have the green cashmere dress for now. Going to see what the sale brings. I think I will kick myself if I were to keep and then for it to be madly reduced although somehow, I don't think it has been in the past. Tbh, I got if for a great price with the £20 mention me so may just have to keep it. Feeling a bit down tonight and disappointed in myself. Just been eating too much crap and feel bloated. Feeling in need of doing my 5:2 so that is my plan. Starting after new years day, no sugar and fasting for me.

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 31/12/2018 08:44

Bloody hell Each. That sounds like the beginning of a Christmas comedy it’s that grim.

EachandEveryone · 31/12/2018 10:18

It’s not exactly s lock it’s that noise your front door makes before the alarm gets turned off if that makes sense.

ilovecherries · 31/12/2018 10:40

each, I think we should send you a care package!

EachandEveryone · 31/12/2018 10:44

Don’t worry I will appreciate the gin even more tonight Smile
