Love the boots @Laska. Cannot wait to see what they look like In real life. My KG boots came. Was going to return but they are so comfy so tried on today and didn't take them off. A lady came up to me in asda and asked me where I got them and that she was going to put them on her Christmas list!

neveradullmoment99 · 17/12/2018 22:37

@melen, you sound so kind and self composed I just cannot believe you. We really loathed each other. I have been threatening my dd [11] with the same. Her room gives me the rage.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/12/2018 22:38

I think my dd was sent to me as part of my gran punishing me for all those years!!!

dontcallmelen · 17/12/2018 22:39

Ooh that’s good never they turned out to be a good buy.

dontcallmelen · 17/12/2018 22:42

😂 never I have mellowed I promise.

GinandGingerBeer · 17/12/2018 23:28

Evening Smile
Your brexit brows made me laugh Not. If only the vote had gone the other way, they might have remained Wink
Love the white tree soy and the turkey tantrum len. Grin
** Last year I decided the only way to get through Christmas with Mil was to power drink my way through. I may have slid off my chair and under the table......during xmas dinner
(In my defence our virtual Mil bingo card was full after about ten minutes including homophobia, racism, disabilism and general ignorance & this is the woman who has followed us on holiday abroad, not once but twice Angry)
Nice to hear from you laska

Im in bed having those 'oh shit I've not bought enough xmas presents' thoughts

GinandGingerBeer · 17/12/2018 23:29

Bold fail! Oops.

Me too so I am going to go through the gifts and wrap them on Thursday or Friday before the kids are home. I need to see what I have. I have made a list but I want to see what it looks like in reality. Fortunately, apart from my youngest children, grandson, My dh and my MIL and perhaps a small thing for my mum, we don't buy for anything for anyone else. I am so relieved about that.

SoyYo · 17/12/2018 23:52

Great anecdotes!
melen the turkey thrower! Xmas GrinXmas Grin That IS so funny!

@never so is your gran! I was very close to my maternal grandparents and still miss them...they were magic! (But no broken crockery Grin)

@laska sounds like a right old grinchy Xmas day painting a bookshop, you’ve gotta laugh though I’m sure it wasn’t remotely funny at the time...you’re well rid of the pompous arse and I don’t know who you’re referring to on the Latin temper front Wink

@ella great Xmas eve tale!! Xmas Smile

SoyYo · 18/12/2018 00:03

I lost a post Confused
Was going to say @Gin I don’t blame you one bit for sliding down the table in drunken stupor Grin
@never glad the new boots are keepers and
@melen You Go Girl 💪

Thanks for the Xmas Grin and good night

ilovecherries · 18/12/2018 10:52

Well, that was impressively fast! Not only has it been stalking me online, it was obviously parked at the end of my road waiting for me to buy. What do you think. This is a size 10, is it big enough? It has pockets but they are still stitched and didn’t want to unpick till I decide.

And omg, the long padded Janelle Seasalt coat. I really wasn’t sure about this when I bought it, but it’s clearly a coat that can only be appreciated in winter. It so comfy and cosy.

Huffthepuff · 18/12/2018 12:46

Love it Cherries, particularly undone. But then I feel that way about most coats. And you're wearing a lovely smile in that last picture so you look more relaxed and therefore fabulous. Looks big enough, definitely wouldn't go larger unless it feels tight at all? Would look great with a really bright scarf draped round your neck and I like how you've got black on underneath which makes the colour pop.
I say KEEP!

dontcallmelen · 18/12/2018 13:13

😂 at the coat stalking you, I really like it yy prefer it undone belts always annoy though, looks a good fit & the colour is lush also I think it could be dressed up or down with jeans or smart black trousers.
Yy the sea salt coat, I tried it on but it came down to my ankles Dd fell about laughing at me shame as it’s really cosy, my quest for a warm coat is still ongoing.

NotAnActualSheep · 18/12/2018 14:19

cherries- that really does look great and not at all dressing gown esque! see, I told you I'm often wrong... The colour really suits you. Lol at it waiting at the end of the road! I don't think it's only a "meeting" coat at all...could definitely be used casually too. Sizing looks perfect to me as long as it feels OK. Any bigger I think could be too big on the shoulders?

I'm waiting at the airport now, (posting to avoid going wild in the brora concession...) so can't go through all posts, but I have been giggling (not in a crazy way, hopefully) at all the Xmas disasters...especially the turkey throwing and heavy breathing!! And Gin's MIL bingo and Laska bookshop-painting Xmas Grin. DH was telling me that last year over 2000 people filed their tax return on Christmas Day, so has to be a step up from that?!

Don't think we have had any total disasters...probably because I haven't "hosted"...it's either just us, or we go to parents' cos I'm a lazy antisocial b*gger and that works out nicely for us! We did have one year where we decided to hire a cottage in the Welsh borders for us, DPs and PIL, which wasn't too successful. It had been really snowy and we could only just get the cars up the dirt track...and then it snowed overnight again so we were all stuck. Ended up having to walk to the nearest town a couple of miles over snowy fields to get last minute groceries...and there wasn't anywhere to go in the cottage to escape people...it was teeny tiny (plus not enough comfy chairs for the 6 of us, and I was 4 months pregnant so not drinking)! Was very glad it thawed by the end of the week, and we could leave...

ilovecherries · 18/12/2018 14:36

It’s funny, as I have more expensive jumpers - looking at you, Hush Cashmere - and I feel less angst about buying them. A coat, no matter what the cost, always seems like a bigger investment, so must be ‘right’. Maybe it’s because of the physical space they occupy!

dontcallmelen · 18/12/2018 15:20

Yy with coats, I think it’s because they are on ‘Show’ much more.

Liveinthepresent · 18/12/2018 18:34

Evening all - does anyone have this dress in real life ?

https://www.hush-uk.com/m/christmas/partywear/partydresses/devoreeleopardkimonoodressblackk_navy.htm

Need something forgiving for festive period but could be awful in real life as I would be ordering a 14.

SoyYo · 18/12/2018 18:38

Thumbs up 👍 on the coat cherries it’s such a beautiful colour and the shape suits you really well.
@not safe travels, Hope airport is not too manic as they tend to be this time of year and did you really manage to ignore the Brora shop?Xmas Grin btw your Xmas snowed in week is my true idea of hell...I shudder just thinking about being snowed in having to trekk across fields for milk. Let alone with PIL’s 😱 And unable to drink. True Martyrdom.

SoyYo · 18/12/2018 18:43

Hi live can’t help but do size down in Hush. I’m a 14 in dresses due to norkage and can nearly always get away with a 12 in Hush dresses, specially the non fitted ones.
I did order the Devore leopard skinny scarf which I returned because it was so thin/tiny but the actual Devore fabric looked really lovely.
Also beware and read the reviews, if you’re tallish you’ll be fine but if you’re bordering on petite height it may be too long.
I think it could be a fabulous dress but didn’t have the occasion to justify it.
Please report back if you decide to go for it.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/12/2018 19:22

I think it really suits you @cherries. I think you should keep it. It came really quickly!!

Liveinthepresent · 18/12/2018 19:32

Thanks for the reply Soy . I must confess to being a bit of a lurker on this thread as I buy about 50% of my wardrobe from Hush at present . Sadly am in a phase of weight gain so I will need a 14 even in their forgiving sizes ..
will let you know if I go for it .

Laska2Meryls · 18/12/2018 19:47

not where are you off to or have you been meeting someone? ^going wild in the brora concession*.. if only ..Envy

cherries Keep it , i love it , where is it from? My JL chunky jumpers were really expensive but I'm just wearing them whatever , they are getting no special treatment around here !..wearing them out walking and everything .
livein the present Hi ! .. im in a bit of a weight gain at the moment.. sadly --too much sitting around eating biscuits and sandwiches and not making proper food in the last few weeks ) I'm feeling fat ad am going to have to really go for it again after Christmas if i want to wear my Hush stuff on holiday again .. Hmm

No clothes news here (although I have done some Hinting for present ideas !) , I have been keeping busy with my Christmas Lists, today I wet mad and cleared out kitchen cupboards ahem.. found some stuff with a date of 2014!1 and one tin which said 2012!

Finished wrapping presents except one I'm still waiting for and those for DGs who we wont see until Jan anyway .. Halo

I want a Spring 19 preview!! stamps foot!

ilovecherries · 18/12/2018 19:56

laska - how are you? Re the coat - John Lewis own brand. £199 down to £100.

Never, I know, I only ordered it last night, with just the free standard postage, and it was here about 9.30.

dontcallmelen · 18/12/2018 20:11

Laska I did the cleaning out of cupboards as well found at least half a dozen tins/jars that were probably radio active they were so old.
Not are you off to warmer climes.
Gin 😂 at mil bingo jaysus she sounds a delight, mine could be a master of the passive aggressive insult she could take my breath away sometimes, but she had a hard life & quite a bit of tragedy so I used to let it go over my head most of the time & Dh was good at pulling her up when she went over the top, in the end I became quite fond of her & when she was on form she was very funny.
