Currently obsessed(!) with CK Obsession! It's an oldie but a goodie! Anyone else revisiting older perfumes?

Yes, I loved Gucci Envy...

bookbuddy · 10/11/2018 21:20

Premier jour Nina Ricci for my early 20’s Exclamation was my teenage one though absolutely loved it Grin

timeforachangemethinks · 10/11/2018 21:33

Armani used to do one called Sensi, I first bought it in duty free on my first girls holiday to Corfu when I was about 19, it was lovely and warm and I’m gutted I can’t get it anymoreSad

PickleASturgeon · 10/11/2018 21:48

Used to love Fidji - still available, so might have to give it a wee sniff again.

Also, as someone mentioned above - New West - loved that perfume, always reminded me of the sea for some reason. Wish it hadn't been discontinued.

A bit of a random one, but I'm sure Boots used to sell a perfume called Fiore(?). I think it was their own make - anyone remember it or am I imagining things?

mimibunz · 10/11/2018 21:50

There’s a new young woman in my office who wears something identical to Emeraude.

MissBattleaxe · 12/11/2018 11:41

@PickleASturgeon- you're not mad- Boots used to make lovely perfumes. The first one I ever bought was boots Bluebell in a little blue splash bottle. I'm talking about 1984 though!

@pangolina Gucci Envy is not coming back and I am so upset about it. I'm a perfume blogger and wrote to Gucci about this and they gave me some fluffy answer about "try our new stuff."

There's such a demand for Gucci Envy that I honestly don't know why they won't bring it back. It's like shooting yourself in the bank account. It would be a bestseller! I'm also puzzled about why nobody has thought to bring out anything similar to satisfy demand. In fact, when I wrote my blog article, I got 164 comments! (some of them are mine in reply)

Another Gucci Envy fan here, wish I’d realised it was my last bottle at the time. Loved it so much.

Always also looking for My Queen by Alexander McQueen. I remember it being in Savers for about £20 a bottle but I couldn’t afford to stock up at the time Sad

willowstar · 12/11/2018 23:36

Fendi...The original which I wore in the 90s. I can still smell it. So upset it was discontinued. La occitane oud & rose is the closest I have ever found to it.

Also, midnight poison. If I had known it would be discontinued I would have stocked up. My friend recently discovered an unopened bottle in a drawer and sold it for hundreds on eBay. I was distraught.

dulcefarniente · 13/11/2018 00:20

Tuscany Per Donna sigh

Teddy1970 · 13/11/2018 00:37

Anyone old enough to remember Limara body sprays?

Teddy1970 · 13/11/2018 00:40

Cinnabar...Estee Lauder
Magie Noire...Lancome

Teddy1970 · 13/11/2018 00:42

Ooh how can I forget Vanderbilt? Sorry, went on a posting tangent there!

myusernamewastakenbyme · 13/11/2018 11:05

Ohhh yes i remember Limara body sprays.....

sylviec · 13/11/2018 11:08

Light blue!

keithschick · 13/11/2018 11:15

OMG mine were Daisy - Mary Quant, Rive Gauche - YSL, Charlie- Revlon, Stevie B- Max Factor, Coty L'aimant, Je Suis - Yardley. Now my current faves are LV - Turbulences and Tom Ford XXXX Fabulous.

Scone1nSixtySeconds · 13/11/2018 11:41

I loved Gucci Envy too Sad. I did recently get a bottle of Venezia by Laura Biagotti which is just as lovely as I remembered.

Hushnownobodycares · 13/11/2018 12:27

Private Collection by Estee Lauder and Fidji by Guy Laroche used to be go-tos. Blase by Max Factor when I was a skint teen and something called Femille was gorgeous too. Not sure who made it.

Can't wear perfume now. It gives me a headache Sad

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 14/11/2018 07:06

Willowstar- Perfume Parlour do a pretty good dupe of original Fendi.
Likewise, the PP version of Rive Gauche (and Opium) are fabulous and much nearer to the original versions than the modern formulations. I won't ever buy proper RG again now I have the PP version.

OhTheRoses · 14/11/2018 07:22

First Van Cleef &Arpels (dated now)
Dior J'Adore - tried some the other day and still lovely.
Wore White Linen too in the late 80s then switched to Lancome - loved hypnose
Currently wear Estee Modern Muse eau de Parfum and Miss Dior Blooming

undeecided · 14/11/2018 07:27

Mitsouko and Chanel 19

Nakedavenger74 · 14/11/2018 07:39

Oh god. I've been on a mission to find some Very Valentino. Discontinued. Wonderful smell evocative of my early 20's. Also L'ete by Kenzo
I had a perfume called Choc by Pierre Cardin in the 80's. I've been looking for for years. I once found it a few years ago in a dusty corner of a French supermarket.
I long for Colors by Benetton too. Gorgeous

Naicethings · 14/11/2018 08:13

Shalimar, Chamade and Naheme. I have a bit of a thing for Guerlain!

MrsCatE · 14/11/2018 09:12

Ooh, anyone remember Cacherel and Eau de Metal?

Whatsallthisaboutthen · 14/11/2018 09:24

Hypnotic Poison was my drug of choice as a teenager. Also remember my mother in L’Air Du Temps and Beautiful. All of those take me straight back a couple of decades.

I find most modern, newly released perfumes smell the same as each other. There are about three scents out there it seems!

Whatsallthisaboutthen · 14/11/2018 09:25

Oh God, and my stepmother wore Private Collection (EL) for years. I loved that so much.
