Currently obsessed(!) with CK Obsession! It's an oldie but a goodie! Anyone else revisiting older perfumes?

Armani White here. I had a tin until recently but it had gone off 😭

BabarKingoftheElephants · 08/11/2018 20:40

Dune
Les Belles De Ricci
Moschino Cheap and Chic
Lou Lou Blue
Hypnose by Lancome.
Gucci Envy.
Deci Dela.
Pleasures Estee Lauder.

Some of the above are discontinued but others are still going strong and smell like they used to.

buggerthebotox · 08/11/2018 20:49

starburst you can get Coty l'aimant in a body spray.

My mother used to wear it.

I still love Chanel 5.

Those 90s perfumes were sooo strong-particularly Cerruti, which was overpoweringly sweet imho. .

Does anyone remember Tramp? Hmm.

ElfrideSwancourt · 08/11/2018 21:15

Demi Jour by Houbigant - wore it for my wedding nearly 25 years ago and still love it. I can occasionally get 5ml bottles of the pure perfume on eBay, which I hoard.

I also love Ange out Demon le secret by Givenchy, although it's not that old, and was devastated to find boots don't stock it any more- I'd saved up all my advantage card points for it :(

saganorenscarandcoat · 09/11/2018 07:51

Dune is another one I love as well as Rive Gauche

The Gucci one in a really heavy, square class bottle, the perfume is a deep amber colour. I don't think it had a name other then Gucci. I love it and only use it for special occasions as the few that pop up on eBay go for crazy prices.

VintageFur · 09/11/2018 08:22

Interesting basic I have that and always wondered what it was called. I got it when I was pregnant with my first and then my hormones/smell went weird and it took me years to actually enjoy it again. It's now one of my winter scents.

donajimena · 09/11/2018 08:27

Kenzo parfum d'ete. I miss it.

GraceMarks · 09/11/2018 08:27

buggerthebotox oh yes, Tramp - such an alluring name. I assume whoever came up with the name intended the American meaning and not the British, but even then it's basically like bringing out a scent called Slut...

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 09/11/2018 08:33

Recently rediscovered Lolita Lempicka, the one in the purple apple shaped bottle. It's absolutely gorgeous for autumn/winter. Bitter sweet violet liquorice, with a hint of moss. The bottle is beautiful too, in a very 90s sort of way.

BasicUsername · 09/11/2018 09:01

@VintageFur

Same, it's quite heavy so not really a summer fragrance, but so beautiful.

Fatarseflanagan09 · 09/11/2018 09:15

I loved laughter in the seventies, you could also get Impulse Gypsy, they don't do it anymore it all seems flowery and sickly now.

BumDisease · 09/11/2018 09:16

Narcisse and Paul Smith for Women take me back to the early 00s. I loved Serenity by Ghost but it's sadly discontinued!

Bloomcounty · 09/11/2018 10:16

Shalimar. My winter staple, which I've been wearing for about 35 years.

Dici Dela by Nina Ricci. Having just found a bottle of edt online going for nearly £300, how I wish I hadn't opened the bottle of proper perfume that I bought 20+ years ago. I've barely used it, and it's still good, but who's going to buy a part used bottle? That would have paid for christmas....

teta · 09/11/2018 10:23

I still really love Ralph Lauren Safari and Clinique Wrappings. I think both would have been too green and mature for me in the 90s but are fantastic now. They do seem very ‘ current ‘ in feel. Likewise as does Clinique Calyx, even though floral fruity perfumes are not really in fashion.

ThoughtForFood · 09/11/2018 10:30

Charlie White, anyone...? A whiff would transport me back to 1998!

MessyBun247 · 09/11/2018 10:55

Oh I loved Charlie Red....still do. I used to drench myself in it as a teen.

thenightsky · 09/11/2018 11:35

Does anyone remember Tramp?

Yes! I loved it as a teenager. My parents used to laugh their heads off at the name though. Grin

MissBattleaxe · 09/11/2018 11:44

I used to love the Avon fragrances from the 80s. Moonwind, Foxfire, Eau Givree.

These I wear Anais Anais, Lanvin Arpege, LouLou, and First by Van Cleef and Arpels.

Strawberryfield12 · 09/11/2018 12:13

Rive Gauche by YSL, have bought several bottles since I discovered it about 20 years ago.
Recently bought Paloma Picasso because it was on offer on Amazon, at first thought it was almost nasty, but actually I am loving it now... and it was eau de parfum for about £20 a big bottle.

MiaowMix · 09/11/2018 12:46

Perfumistas and Wrappings fans, anyone know if it's available in a bigger size than 25ml? Thanks!

EnormousDormouse · 09/11/2018 12:52

I still love Rive Gauche, and use Dolce Vita a lot as well.
I am lucky to have a half full bottle of original Opium from the 80s (it was my first ever bottle of 'real' perfume and I still find it intoxicating, and it takes me straight back to the Lower Sixth!)
And clearing some boxes at my mum's I just found my stash of Avon novelty bottles with a selection of classic 80s fragrances. I was so pleased as I thought I'd dumped them on a previous clear out Smile

Niminy · 09/11/2018 14:30

I had Tramp too! Thought it was the height of sophistication aged 15 Blush

I

bigknickersbigknockers · 09/11/2018 14:43

I loved Dior's Tendre poison, it was by far their nicest perfume. Why they discontinued it I will never know.

MissBattleaxe · 09/11/2018 19:31

I used to love Gucci Envy and there's just no logic to why they stopped it.
