laska I’m trying hard not to look at Seasalt on BA as I could do with a practical raincoat but instead what do I do? Buy leopard fur coats and duplicate Stella jumpers!
Must reign in my spending 🙈
It doesn’t help DH when he saw my Sosander parcel all packed and ready to return goes: was it nice? Why didn’t you keep?
We will NEVER retire if I carry on like this i May just take a quick peep

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 09:54

And for those looking for a fabulous fairisle jumper (thinking of whitney)
Look at this offering from Brora 😍 and proper wool, similar price point to Hush:

Huffthepuff · 25/10/2018 10:23

@SoyYo totally agree, I have one of the Brora jumpers on my John Lewis wishlist, they are stunning. Shame they are so £££ but at least the composition justifies it compared to Hush....

Have to say I'm very taken with the Meryl jumper in grey as I've been looking for a relaxed fit grey roll neck. Will buy if my £20 refer a friend ever comes though.

Have also just ordered the Seasalt Porthchapel mac, with £10 off first order it was such a bargain at £46! I know I'll regret it if I don't and have a feeling they'll sell out quickly!

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 10:37

Here is a video I found on the hush website of their latest collection:

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 10:37

I quite like seeing things on someone moving.

dontcallmelen · 25/10/2018 10:54

Laska hope all goes well today.
Soy can’t beat a coat that feels as though it’s giving you a cuddle also looks lovely, I liked the sosander one as wel so no help.
I have a real thing for shoes, probably have at least fifty pairs of heels
& only three pairs of boots, also love jackets have so many from bikers to sequin/beads & most styles in between.
Coats not so much, have a parka & two tailored wool coats & a raincoat.

I’m really sorry to butt in – but please could I ask your opinions on this Vivian Jumpsuit? It is 100% outside my Comfort Zone, but I thought I would give it a go. I’ve been thinking about a jumpsuit for “work-followed-by-going-to-the-pub” events - not that I have many of those to be fair, as I work from home, but there are a couple of client things coming up.

I absolutely love this on the model (and the double necklace which I also got and love…it is beautiful) – and it obviously doesn’t look anything like that on me. I’m not sure whether to keep or not. Pros – the top half is nice, and I love the scoop neck and sleeves. The trousers are nice and swishy too. Cons – I feel I look enormous - especially from the side. Obviously this is me and not the jumpsuit, but I don’t know if the style is right, if you see what I mean. This is a 14, and I don’t think I could go smaller on the hips. But I now have a big tummy too (hormones and cake) and I think the style emphasises that. But it may be that I’m just not used to the look on me.

Please can I ask you, as virtual helpful random people in the changing room?

(I’ve been lurking since the summer, and I have to say that your enabling has been very bad for my bank balance…but I’ve tried so many new things having seen your fantastic photos – so thanks so much. You all seem so nice and supportive Smile. But now I’ve been sucked into the rabbit hole that is the Brora clearance section aaaaarrrgh).

Hi Not I think it really suits you always find if I try something out of my comfort zone, I feel strange at first.
It’s looks really versatile, as you could dress it up with pretty shoes/jacket/necklace etc or with shoe boots & a biker jacket 👍🏼From me.

Huffthepuff · 25/10/2018 11:22

@NotAnActualSheep looks great! Stylish and flattering and love it with the necklace

On the subject of Brora clearance... @Laska5772 and all you other velvet lovers

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 11:23

Welcome notanactualsheep you know how dangerous for wallet damage this thread is Wink
I think you’ve got a great figure and the jumpsuit looks excellent on you, front view with that necklace is fab, and your legs seem to go on forever Envy
Side tummy view is not huge at all, yes a small tummy which is perfectly acceptable. Keep!
I’ve thought about jumpsuits often and tried previous seasons Hush versions but my figure is inverted triangle and haven’t found “the one” yet (in fact I’ve given up), I think they’re great for work.
Hope this helps

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 11:41

Ooh Huff not looking! Lovely unusual velvet offering from Brora and the quality looks excellent.
I already own a great purple velvet long coat and short black velvet evening jacket AND wide leg black velvet trousers from old Boden seasons so my velvet needs are complete otherwise I’d be very tempted as Brora quality is tops.

On the proverbial enabling (blaming you all now) you know I’m not a very practical coat buyer but I do actually need something remotely waterproof and as it’s a parka style (which also I don’t own) I’ve allowed myself to be shepherded to the BA Seasalt porthchapel Coat. I had a £20 mention me voucher but on £80 spend and I was so close to it that while there I added a swingy Mill Pool stripy dress and with the voucher and delivery it came to £66 which was only a fiver more than I would have paid for the coat on its own excuses,excuses...the dress will be useful for homeworking days instead of my usual harem/Amies/Jeans days...

This makes my total coat ownership so huge I’m ashamed to list on this thread...But anyway it is a very good purchase given my propensity for fabulousness over sensible outerwear Wink

melen don’t get me started on the shoes! Let’s just say DH calls me Imelda Grin

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 11:44

never thanks for the video which has done nothing to dissuade me from lusting after the Aura jumper...

dontcallmelen · 25/10/2018 11:46

soy😂 snap I’m thinking of dedicating them a room, I think you have been very sensible with outerwear argument.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 11:54

I have also been very tempted by the jumpsuit. I think it looks great on you not. Its very flattering.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 11:56

Thanks for posting your picture. Its helpful to see how it would look on real people and I have to say that your picture has tempted me further but I am sitting on my card atm. No purchases for now. I have quite a few things that are new and I haven't worn yet. I may purchase something closer to my birthday as a treat to myself crikey as if I need to

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 11:58

Sadly, I don't have an extra room to dedicate as they are all taken unless I become a cruel mother and get my ds to sleep in the garden shed to make way for my shoes

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 11:58

He would actually love it but maybe not the spiders.

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 12:06

never Grin at DS moving to the cobwebby shed to make room for your wardrobe needs!
At least you eBay a lot...I just hoard things because everything fits me, and I really must have a charity clearout soon which I usually do with season changes but this autumn haven’t got round to it.
I have a huge wall in my bedroom with built in wardrobes, and poor DH is squeezed at the far end.
It’s ridiculous...not proud of that at all.

SoyYo · 25/10/2018 12:08

LOL! Not DH but his clothes 🤣

ilovecherries · 25/10/2018 12:08

I love the jumpsuit. You look tall and slender in it, not huge at all. Is it marginally too long - can’t quite see? But easily remedied if it is. It’s a yes from me.

dontcallmelen · 25/10/2018 12:25

never I think it’s a great idea moving Ds to cobwebby shed, nothing cruel about it, after all you would let him in for meals.
Soy I’m going to try & trackle my wardrobe/drawers for a charity clearout today, I’m the same with hanging on to stuff for years & considering my social life is very much curtailed, lord knows why I keep buying high heels

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 12:29

melen GrinGrin

Ellapaella · 25/10/2018 12:30

@NotAnActualSheep the jumpsuit looks lovely. Hope we have persuaded you to keep it as it really suits you.
@Huffthepuff I love the Meryl jumper too. If you want a cheaper alternative then I saw some identical grey ones in H & M this morning. I tried one on but it must have a high wool content as it made me itch (I am super sensitive to real wool).

OP posts:
SoyYo · 25/10/2018 12:33

Good luck with the clearout melen let us know how it goes.
I think I need to start being more disciplined about it so need some motivation to get on and do it! Any tips gratefully received (but no Kondo type minimalist tips as that’s just totally unattainable and I’ll only end up spending more to replace what I throw away...I like to have lots of options in my wardrobe for different moods. Would be bored to death with “capsule” clothes...)

It’s a good job I’ve got wide feet which somehow limits my choices, I dread to think what my shoe collection would be like with average feet! Blush

neveradullmoment99 · 25/10/2018 12:35

The meryl jumper is gorgeous @Ella although not sure if i would get on with the neckline as it may irritate me. I am totally the same with wool. Sometimes even with cashmere although rarely so. I wore my grey cashmere bf jumper yesterday and it did itch ever so slightly in the morning but it was short lived.
