Princess Eugenie's wedding: The sartorial highs and lows. Plus Fergie's back, bitches!

Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

I think that Fergie & Beatrice both looked lovely.

Eugenie looked gorgeous.

Loved the dress & the tiara.

Nice that P Philip went.

No matter what he thinks of Fergie, it was about Eugenie today.

GrumbleBumble · 12/10/2018 12:09

Buttery even the zica risk?

BrightonGallery7 · 12/10/2018 12:10

How perfect was that wedding. Wow.

susurration · 12/10/2018 12:10

That's interesting, they've just mentioned that the carriage route is the same as one taken by Edward and Sophie on their wedding day. It seems less try hard when you consider that.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:10

Robbie's MiL has her hat firmly clamped down on her head now!

This carriage ride reminds me of people watching Pippa & husband driving an E type jag after their wedding ie Not many

Honestly, what was Ayda Williams thought process with that outfit?? Ivory, silky, and bloody awful to boot.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 12/10/2018 12:11

Ayda is wearing Oyster

SheSparkles · 12/10/2018 12:11

Seeing all the guests now-so many green dresses!

Butterymuffin · 12/10/2018 12:11

Grumble in their shoes, I'd have put off doing those countries to be honest. It would be understandable given that they have said they want a family. But presumably they've decided to wait for now - their choice, but mine would have been different.

Quantumblue · 12/10/2018 12:11

Were George and Amal there?

Spudlet · 12/10/2018 12:11

Just looked at the live stream. Kate looks lovely, that's a fab colour for her. Princess Anne is channelling Robin Hood with that hat, but gorgeous dress. Beatrice looks lovely, Fergie's hat does have ears but nice dress. Megan looks up the duff. And those horses, not wishing to jinx it, are behaving immaculately, especially considering how windy it is. I do so love the Windsor greys!

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 12:12

I dont think they will have kids actually.

ferrier · 12/10/2018 12:12

Where was Louise after the wedding?

WorriesGalore · 12/10/2018 12:13

What makes you say that, Whisky>

Quantumblue · 12/10/2018 12:13

Our commentators have no idea about the content or meaning of the Great Gatsby.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 12/10/2018 12:13

Ok.ladies, well that was much better than expected. Will chat more over the outfits when the photos come out.

Butterymuffin · 12/10/2018 12:13

Don't think the Clooneys were there. Didn't see them and no-one mentioned them.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:14

Just trying to list all the minor royals I spotted today:

Present
Lady Sarah Chatto
The Gloucesters
Duke of Kent
Lady Helen Taylor
Freddy and Ella Windsor

Missing in action
Lord Snowdon
The Duchess of Kent
The Michaels of Kent
The sons of the Duke of Kent
All the Gloucesters' children

I didn't spot anyone from Fergie's side of the family either but I'm sure they must've been there.

Who knows if they'll have kids and anyway that's their business

PollyFlinderz · 12/10/2018 12:14

Eugenie looked absolutely beautiful and her dress was the best we’ve seen at Royal Weddings for a long time. Just stunning.

Prince Andrew looked like a very proud dad who knew to help his girl with her dress on the day. Just like every dad really.

ferrier · 12/10/2018 12:15

ITV says the Clooneys weren't there.

BrightonGallery7 · 12/10/2018 12:15

The dress was gorgeous; the tiara was precious; the service was solemn and profoundly moving; they were word perfect; they were sooooooo sweet together; the floral decorations were amazing; the breeze made everything so lively - and Charlotte was waving. 🙂

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:15

Actually I'm quite surprised that Lord Snowdon wasn't there, as he's fairly close family.

Lovely wedding, I thought it had a bit of a medieval feel inside the chapel, the dress etc. Nice that she’s bucked tradition a bit with emeralds in the tiara and not having a veil. I think the dress was spot on, traditional but modern through the back, and it photographs well by the look of it.
