Princess Eugenie's wedding: The sartorial highs and lows. Plus Fergie's back, bitches!

Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

How cute are all the bridesmaids and pageboys. How on earth are they so well behaved!!!

Was that Andrew stuffing her train into the carriage? He wasn't on the steps. Should have been Bea, surely?

Meghan has worn a few outfits lately that make her look pregnant or trying to avoid looking pregnant and I wondered if it was a double bluff.

Fergie's hat looked like it had chopsticks sticking out, as an Aussie reporter said.

I bet Robbie Williams family are watching thinking "Crikey, that's our granddaughter/niece/cousin cutting about with the future king"

Sophie's dress definitely looks black rather than navy, even in the sun.

Now seeing Sophie Wessex's dress again.. it really does look black. Too dark imo.

Off topic but do we think Sophie Wessex and Edward are actually happy? They never show any affection in public and he seems so wet compared to her. I keep thinking it's another marriage of convenience now like Anne and her chap (who supposedly lead separate lives.)

She was helping with the bridesmaids and pageboys.

Kate's my favourite as always, she looks fab! Yes I wondered that about Meghan, lots of 'is she, isn't she' outfits at the moment. I wouldn't fancy the trip to Australia if I was so maybe they're holding off until after that.

Not a bad crowd for the carriage ride, though nowhere near as many as for Harry's wedding.

Love Kate's dress.

Loved Sophie's dress. Very elegant and suits her figure.

In Meghan's position if I wanted children I would not want to hang about for anything. It's their decision of course.

Sophie's dress was nice as a dress, but that colour looked more funeral than wedding appropriate.

I agree, crowds not too bad.

Commentators just referred to 'fergie'. Inappropriate for a formal occasion imo, no less her daughter's wedding...

God, the inane chat on ITV now is doing my nut in. They do like to pretend they know them intimately, don't they?! Let's face it, if you were that intimately acquainted you'd be on the other side of the cameras right now.
