Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

The thing is, the Great Gatsby is not a great love story is it? I love both the book and the film adaptation but to me it's a tragedy of unrequited love & desperation.

Quantumblue · 12/10/2018 11:25

What's with all the throat clearing right by the microphone?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 12/10/2018 11:25

Andrea Bocelli is awespme

BrisaOtonal · 12/10/2018 11:26

I like the back of her dress. I think the front of it is really boring. The design on the material looks like the pattern on everything from Shanghai Tang. Her hair and makeup are lovely. They look happy and he looks like a nice bloke.

I think Beatrice needs a personal stylist TBH. Her clothes are very ageing. Her clothes remind me of what Nanna used to wear.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 11:27

Bocelli and the RPO much more suitable than BGT contestants for a royal wedding i think

He was a bit more than just a BGT contestant though...

Oh my! Even I'm welling up now 😍

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 12/10/2018 11:27

Oh, thanks for explaining that choice of reading.

SalemBlackCat4 · 12/10/2018 11:27

@SillySallySingsSongs Why is that a 'bad' thing? That I think it is great that men wear wedding rings and I feel it shows love, respect and commitment? Why is that a 'bad' thing? Are you insecure about that for some reason? Confused

BrisaOtonal · 12/10/2018 11:27

Louisa thing?

Butterymuffin · 12/10/2018 11:28

So the reading is comparing Jack to Gatsby re his smile. That's why I'd just have had that bit. They didn't need the rest of the paragraph. Oh well, their choice. I'll give up on my pedantry now.

EdinaMonsoon · 12/10/2018 11:28

QueenOfTheAndals oh poor girl. I sincerely hope the red top rags don't go to town on that. She is still quite young, no?

TheCraicDealer · 12/10/2018 11:28

I like Beatrice's bee brooch, a nice touch.

Pippa does not know how to dress a bump. I'm having flashbacks of what she wore to Harry and Meghan's wedding, the dress with the weird dropped waist and pleated skirt.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 11:28

I don't think they will, she's still only about 14 or 15.

Beatrice chatting to her mother - she was chatting away at Harry and Meghan's wedding as well. It's not the best example of good manners, which is surprising!

BiscuitDrama · 12/10/2018 11:29

Louise/Louisa who? Sorry I’ve missed that bit.

TinselAngel · 12/10/2018 11:29

I want a man who is as kind as everybody is saying the groom is

Butterymuffin · 12/10/2018 11:29

Louise's dress blew up in the wind. The media seem to be respectfully ignoring it happening which is good judgement on their part.

ferrier · 12/10/2018 11:29

I think Beatrice needs a personal stylist TBH. Her clothes are very ageing. Her clothes remind me of what Nanna used to wear.
I think Kate more accurately fits that description these days.

SenecaFalls · 12/10/2018 11:29

The cynic in me thinks Andrew thinks he is too important to sit!

That's the way it has been done in all the royal weddings except for Meghan and Harry's. Even Diana's father, as frail as he was, stood beside her throughout the exchange of vows.

Stunningly beautiful dress. And I love the no veil choice.

ferrier · 12/10/2018 11:30

I have to say they both look like they just want to jump each other 😂

susurration · 12/10/2018 11:30

Goodness me, this is a rather dreary sermon.

areyoubeingserviced · 12/10/2018 11:30

If the red tops have an iota of compassion, they will ignore the dress incident.
She’s a child. I am not going to even mention it again

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 11:30

Are you insecure about that for some reason?

Errr no and my DH wears one. It just seem a daft point imo.

hendal · 12/10/2018 11:30

Im completely welling up watching, didn’t happen with any of the others. They seem like a really sweet couple.
She looks so happy (as does he) and I love her dress and choice of no veil.
Beatrice looks good too!

BiscuitDrama · 12/10/2018 11:30

Ah Lady Louise Windsor.
