Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

I think Beatrice did a decent job of that to be honest. Baffling choice of reading. And I like the book itself a lot.

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 11:21

*scoliosis stupid auto correct

Snowymountainsalways · 12/10/2018 11:21

Er what is Beatrice talking about?? Roughnecks?

cathyandclare · 12/10/2018 11:22

That reading was just lovely, the way Eugenie and jack looked at each other < sniff> I may have something in my eye

SalemBlackCat4 · 12/10/2018 11:22

I always respect men more when they wear a wedding ring. It seems more elegant imo and respectful. A man who is proud to wear a wedding ring is a grand man.

Petalflowers · 12/10/2018 11:22

I’m impressed with Beatrice’s reading,

Eugenie had scoliosis, or curvature of the spine, and had an operation when she was twelve.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 12/10/2018 11:22

Eugenie looks stunning, such a beautiful dress.
And she so does look like a beautiful young Queen Victoria.

troodiedoo · 12/10/2018 11:22

Stunning dress and tiara. A very loved up couple. Sweet.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 12/10/2018 11:22

Beatrice is a good speaker

PurpleChai · 12/10/2018 11:22

I assume the reading is supposed to represent how Eugenie first saw Jack? Could be totally wrong as I’ve never read the original book.

lalalalyra · 12/10/2018 11:22

DMail Seems to be ignoring the Louisa thing. Hopefully it will just be forgotten about...

They'll probably save it until she gets married.

Ecriture · 12/10/2018 11:22

Gatsby reading makes sense now I've heard it.

Snowymountainsalways · 12/10/2018 11:22

Has Beatrice just called the groom a roughneck Grin

Getonthatbroomandfly · 12/10/2018 11:22

She looks absolutely amazing! Her dress is stunning.

I love the whole theme of the wedding .

Her poor husband looked seconds away from fainting though.

susurration · 12/10/2018 11:22

*Jack seems to have slipped a gold signet ring onto his little finger when no one was looking

Nooo- it's been there since he walked in.*

Oh! I thought he was following Prince Charles' example of wearing a signet instead of a wedding ring.

BigGlasses · 12/10/2018 11:23

BBC live coverage is awful. And hardly any pictures!

PrivateParkin · 12/10/2018 11:23

I have just been reading about her op - and how her surgeon is there in the congregation - I think I love her a bit (not usually a fan of royals much).

I liked Beatrice's reading and delivery!!

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 11:23

@Butterymuffin I agree, especially given the theme of the Great Gatsby.

EdinaMonsoon · 12/10/2018 11:23

What's the "Louisa thing"?

JackieReacher · 12/10/2018 11:24

Bocelli and the RPO much more suitable than BGT contestants for a royal wedding i think... I miss the trumpeters but otherwise I think Eug has won royal wedding of the year

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 11:24

Righto Hmm

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 11:24

@EdinaMonsoon The wind blew Louise's dress up briefly as she entered the church. No one seems to reporting on it thought, which is good.

Beatrice has a great narrator voice.

Butterymuffin · 12/10/2018 11:25

Whisky I'd have stopped just before 'Precisely at that point it vanished - and you were looking at an elegant young rough-neck.. ' as that bit undercuts what went earlier and seems the very opposite of wedding sentiment to me.

AllAtHome · 12/10/2018 11:25

I liked Beatrice's reading.Blush I’m starting to like these sisters a lot.
