Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

Eug and Bocelli have obviously been avoiding the pasta together.

I think Andrew stayed standing because of the sides thing - he'd have had to clamber over her dress to take his seat as the royals are on the right, rather than just slipping into a seat on the left.

The cynic in me thinks Andrew thinks he is too important to sit!

Either he wants to be in the limelight or she's asked him to stay next to her.

I don't know if it's a posh thing or not, the few married guys I've known who didn't wear wedding rings weren't posh. They were also massive lechers, though that's neither here nor there and nor am I suggesting William is one!

I wasn’t planning to watch the wedding either, but thoroughly enjoyed it (and this thread).

Beatrice & Eugenie now seem to be more reminiscent of the Queen circa 1950s. They've definitely got that combination of royal but real.

I was looking at some of the pics on the Daily Mail site, what is it with Pippa Middleton-beautiful figure, even when pregnant, shedloads of cash, but absolutely hideous dress sense!

Bit awkward to have Beatrice hovering in the background during this. Surely that could have been done better?

Yes I'm really doubtful about the Great Gatsby reading. Can't understand how it relates. And they should have not included the last few sentences at least, based on What's in the order of service.
