beans my seven year old is forever asking people I say hello to who are you? Including several of his friends parents, including those he has had play dates with and see regularly at school pick up, staff from school and our neighbors. He's just really rubbish as identifying people out of context.

SenecaFalls · 14/10/2018 14:52

And little Teddy is only six. Cut her some slack, y'all.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 15:06

Apparently Jessica Mulroney is flying to Oz to help Meghan on the tour. It says her husband is going too. That sounds like quite a long time for both parents to be away from 3 kids.

I’m going to call it. They will announce Meghan’s pregnancy in the middle of the tour and Jessica will be on hand to keep her company whilst Harry Whizzes off to Tonga and Fiji for the middle 4 days.

FATEdestiny · 14/10/2018 15:10

Meghan being out of the county in a private hideaway, so completely shielded from the media circus, would be impeccably good timing for a pregnancy announcement.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 17:36

So Harry & Meghan must be on a plane right now, as they are due to touch down on Monday. Apparently it’s going to be low key; no official welcome and they will start business on Tuesday.
Looking forward to it!

Paradyning · 14/10/2018 17:39

Niraj Tanna on Twitter is tipping an announcement while they're away and he seems to be very well placed for royal gos. He knows about Kate's pgs prior (some say he's tipped by insiders) and he knew about H&M's engagement. And also her wedding dress designer before anyone else.

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/10/2018 17:42

That article is so ignorant and typical of the Australian media - "a wild preacher" indeed. He was the American equivalent of the Archbishop of Canterbury!

Think that might have been who Zara was referencing when she apparently said to Harry it was “quieter” than at his.

PawneeParksDept · 14/10/2018 18:02

No she was referencing the screaming outside

Clionba · 14/10/2018 18:05

Yes, the crowds were bigger and more excitable at Harry and Meghan's wedding.

Jackietheduck · 14/10/2018 18:25

I was just looking at Chelsy Davy’s Istagram and she is filming elephants playing in the water while she mand friends are on a boat on some sort of safari. Less than two days ago, she was at a wedding in London.

For all our surmising about the royals and mega rich set, we will never really understand how or what they think and do what they do. It really is a completely different world.

thenightsky · 14/10/2018 18:36

Indeed Jackie. Its world away.

thenightsky · 14/10/2018 18:40

And Harry and Meghan are in Amsterdam at a party, having flown there by private jet.

Clionba · 14/10/2018 18:46

And having a weekend at the Clooney's place on Lake Garda.

ajandjjmum · 14/10/2018 19:05

The Amsterdam trip was in September, as was the Clooney visit to Lake Garda - unless they're duplicating both!

GrumbleBumble · 14/10/2018 19:10

Jackie I used to work in Chelsea, just off the King's Road the shops used to astound me. There was a designer undies shop that only showed prices during the sales and a pair of knickers would be a couple of hundred quid. I was could never get my head around the concept of spending 100s on one pair of pants. If I win the lottery I could see myself up grading from a multipath for a tenner to individual pairs for say a fiver but I can't imagine how totally conditioned to spending big you would have to be to spend over a grand on a week's knickers.

Jackietheduck · 14/10/2018 20:46

I think they don’t have any concept of money at all. They see something they like and they wave plastic at it or sign an account for it and it is delivered back to one of their homes. They don’t even think about where the money part of it. I imagine money is never discussed at all. To grow up knowing there are literally pots and pots of gold, more than they could ever spend, must be amazing, though probably completely taken for granted as they have never known any other way.

For Meghan and Kate, it would be appreciated more I imagine, as they did t grow up with it though of course they weren’t badly off either. If they were, the Windsors would not even be aware of their existence for they would never have been in their circle in the first place.

In a way, it makes their meeting and greeting of poor people quite patronising. Shaking the hand of someone who returns to a cold empty high rise while they are chauffeured back to one of their many lavish residences is stomach churning.

I enjoy the clothes and gossip part of their circus but am not a royalist by any means.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 14/10/2018 20:50

Yes it’s a completely different world the royals and the mega rich live in, it is wealth and privilege beyond our comprehension, that’s why I’m always Hmm at the amount of people who feel “sorry for them” (the Royals that is) yes they are scrutinised extensively but I’m sure they a) don’t read most of it and b) don’t care much anyway, they live on a totally different planet which is very much protected.

Clionba · 14/10/2018 20:57

I very much agree with pp above. Both Beatrice and Eugenie took gap years, and had a fun time travelling around. The security was paid for by us.
Eugenie got a very smart new car, but didn't bother to lock it, so it was stolen. The police found it and told her she had to always lock it - she didn't realise!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 21:04

It would have been Andrew who would have insisted on the security.
I don’t think anyone even recognised Eugenie for years

PawneeParksDept · 14/10/2018 21:46

Eugenie passed almost unnoticed when she spent a year in New York

It is Andrew and it makes me pity both girls.

He is pompous and loves the status, rather than take Edwards sensible route or Anne's no nonsense route, both of which have proven pragmatic he wanted an archaic importance out of keeping with the times.

Even in his own prime, the days were gone when well bred girls could sit on their hands "come out" and go to parties until someone with a suitable title could be found, and yet that is the life he seems to have wanted for them. I suppose Diana and Ferg did that to a degree, but they were the last generation

Whereas Zara has a specialist interest for life and Peters wife didn't even realise he was Royal until her mother queried it

Realistically, financially neither girl needs to work and they could just live off their trusts. I think they have only taken "posh girl" jobs to get the press off their case.

I think they should be allowed more charitable things. The Cambridge's are very young children and Anne and Charles are getting older. They will need them to bridge the void left in 10-15 years when the young ones are still too young and the older have passed or need to retire.

PawneeParksDept · 14/10/2018 21:49

And as for Fergie, I still cringe at the memory of how Eugenie and Beatrice were made to beg The Queen for permission to appear on Oprah and then they were placed in a very vulnerable position and filmed crying.

All at the service of Fergies ego, obviously Hmm

Clionba · 14/10/2018 21:54

Oh god, that was awful! Crying on the Oprah show!

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/10/2018 21:55

Shock How did I miss that??

OP posts:
Jackietheduck · 14/10/2018 22:03

I never saw that programme either. They were 23 years old, surely they could have insisted on some sort of contract where they got the rights to ensure certain parts were edited? Or do we think Fergie forego those rights for additional payment?

I wonder if Andrew let her move back in as the girls may have cried for her to remain living with them? It doesn’t account for why he paid off all her debts twice though.

It could all be complete fabrication.

I’m more fascinated by the extraordinary revelation that Fergie allegedly consulted a horse whisperer to help get a handle on her spending habits.
