I love the official oHoto of the bridal party with the grandparents and kids. So lively

RainbowsArePretty · 14/10/2018 00:43

Has everyone seen the evening reception links

Just realised Sarah Chatto was wearing the purple and yellow. I had mixed her up with someone wearing a navy and white striped skirt. I loved Sarah Chatto's outfit. Absolutely lovely it including the hat!

It must be difficult if not impossible to get a good shot of all of the bridesmaids and page boys, they look tired and that's unsurprising.

Fergie is 58, Demi Moore 55. I thought they both looked good, in their own different ways.

Demi Moore works in an industry where there is an expectation that everyone will have work done. It's what you have to do to get the jobs. The wisdom of that thinking is surely a whole different thread, but no matter the morality, it's been expertly done.

I liked the colours that Fergie and Demi Moore wore, they both suited them.

However you style it out, aging can be cruel and it takes so much more time and effort to look 'natural' saying this as someone who is more than 10 years younger and couldn't hope to look as good as either did at the wedding

mathanxiety · 14/10/2018 03:48

I gather from the comments section in the Order of Splendour link that Eugenie does indeed have a stylist, someone name Sarah Price.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 03:56

Eugenie’s Day 2 outfit; white dress & pink biker jacket embroidered Mrs Brooksbank.

The designer made the pale blue dress she wore to H&M’s wedding. That was so unflattering so I am not holding out too much hope for this outfit. (it is only a sketch)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 04:06

Eugenie’s former stylist says Fergie has a big influence on what the girls wear.

I guess they take her advice for formal events, which is why they always seem to get it so wrong. Fergie styles them like teenagers from the 80s.Fergie has totally got to cut those Apron strings. She treats her daughters like grown up dolls. I am now feeling totally sorry for Bea and Eugenie.

As an aside a lip reader said Teddy (Robbie’s daughter) asked Fergie “are you the queen” Fergie said no; the teddy continued “ are you a princess”.apparently Fergie said “yes”.

I’m thinking that Fergie considered this as her job much as Kate, although a Duchess is called a “Princess of the United Kingdom”.
However Fergie was divorced a quarter of a century ago Her only access to the RF is through the girls.

Jackietheduck · 14/10/2018 04:16

The 'girls' are grown women. Many women their age are married with a dependent or even two. I imagine they can read and they are aware of the criticism some of their clothes get. I don't think it is fair to say they are treated like grown up dolls by Fergie because a woman who is thirty years old can only be treated like a doll if she chooses to be treated like a doll.

I loved Eugenie's wedding dress and I thoroughly enjoyed the chat about who wore what. However, I think making Fergie accountable for the clothes choices of women in their late twenties is unfair.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 04:43

I think there is a big difference between their normal wardrobes, and what they wear for formal (Read royal) events; as I said in my previous post.
How many 30 year old women do you see in boater hats?

Other news. Here is Eugenie’s stylist ; Sarah Price’s Instagram

AhoyDelBoy · 14/10/2018 04:47

I seem to be jumping around a few royal threads 🤦🏼‍♀️ I honestly don’t like a single guests outfit except the DoC (who can do no wrong in my eyes) and Pippa although Pippa’s dress is a funny length 🤔

Eugenie got it bang on! The dress she wore to the reception was perfection 🙌🏻

Poor George and Charlotte must be totally over page boy and flower girl duties. Is this the forth wedding they’ve done this year?

AhoyDelBoy · 14/10/2018 04:54

Just reading back over comments. It seems I have rather different taste from most on this thread Smile

mathanxiety · 14/10/2018 05:34

I liked Pippa's dress, AhoyDeBoy. Lovely colour and well cut. I liked that it was a plain colour too, with no pattern. Loved her hat, and I can't believe she managed heels at 9 months. She is made of sterner stuff than me.

For me, with a few exceptions I didn't think much of a lot of the outfits either. I didn't like the pastel dresses - just putting on a pair of black heels doesn't transform a summer frock into an autumn wedding outfit. You can get away with a pastel suit and black heels, but not a frock.

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/10/2018 07:35

I liked Pippa's dress too. I saw a shot of her taken from the side and her bump looked so low that I'm surprised she didn't go into labour in the chapel! She must be due any day now.

I liked Eugenie's dress when I saw it but, looking back at all the photos now, I'm less convinced. I found it a bit matronly and wasn't keen on the brocade fabric. Also, the bustle at the back had a slight look of toilet paper! That tiara was stunning though.

OP posts:
AhoyDelBoy · 14/10/2018 07:43

Yes, agree about the black heels! I didn’t like Kate Moss’ daughters look (don’t know her name or age, maybe she’s just a kid?) with very chunky black shoes with a pale dress. Can’t wait for pictures and name for Pippas baby!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 07:49

Pippa’s baby will have a traditional upper class name.
With a future Queen as it’s aunt, I guess the child will “ marry well” if such things are a consideration in 25 years time

MassDebate · 14/10/2018 07:54

I came on here to say that I thought Eugenie’s evening dress was utterly stunning and how amazing she looks in it - quite surprised to see it’s a bit marmite on this thread!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 07:58

Was googling Melissa Percy, she is now divorced from Thomas van Straubenzee. Her wedding looked great. Was attended by loads of the younger royals and only a couple of policemen on duty, it would appear.

Great video on her local paper website.

Incidentally “Straubs ” second wife Daisy Jenks; looked like fun & great dress at their wedding this summer. here

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 14/10/2018 07:59

Also loved the evening dress. Probably doesn't photograph well.

Paradyning · 14/10/2018 08:02

Ooo interesting blind.

Horsemad · 14/10/2018 08:04

Daisy Jenks' bouquet was beautiful.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 14/10/2018 08:06

Interesting curly! I remember Daisy being admired on here on her wedding day - beautiful girl, beautiful dress. Had no idea of the Percy thing in the background, what the hell happened there?!

Paradyning · 14/10/2018 08:11

I thought Daisy married Thomas' brother, Charlie? Not Melissa's ex

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 08:11

Very interesting blind. Surely Meghan can do the Aussie leg then leave before the Pacific bit. It’s not like she’s going to be squashed into economy class for a 24 hour flight.

I just looked at the itinerary

It’s only 4 days in Fiji & Tonga. Harry can do that bit. Main event seems to be a war memorial which Harry was going to do anyway.
I guess there is no Zia in Oz & NZ

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/10/2018 08:12

My bad. @Paradyng, you are right; 2 brothers

Paradyning · 14/10/2018 08:13

The comments in the blind are saying Zika effects makes too though so that would put Harry at risk. Unless she's already pg so that's not an issue and she just stays in Oz.
Always feel sorry for the royals being forced to announce not on their own terms. Like Kate and her HG
