Casting negative thoughts about people's parentage is spoiling an otherwise lovely thread.

Camilla being busy means nothing. They are so busy that there will always be someone who can't make it, even in the real world, especially when it isn't a long engagement.

susurration · 09/10/2018 11:24

I think the point about Camilla, is that it is not unusual for them rearrange engagement for something high profile like a royal wedding.

ChicagoLil · 09/10/2018 11:34

Nah, it's because Camilla checked the weather forecast and it's now going to pour down on Friday morning. She's going to stay in Scotland with some singing children and a litre of hot whisky.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 11:42

William and Kate have arrived at the mental health summit. She's gone for a rewear.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 11:42

And I don't think she's wearing tights either so so much for that "rule"!

OP posts:
ChicagoLil · 09/10/2018 12:07

How can she walk in those heels??

Jackietheduck · 09/10/2018 12:12

Yes of course Camilla could reschedule for a wedding. As somebody else said, it isn’t as if there are visiting dignitaries. Would the schoolchildren even care? Let’s stop the pretence. It’s an excuse not to attend.

Kate is wearing a lovely dress. Not keen on the colour as I associate that colour with dressing gowns and slippers. William is doing the hand on the stomach thing agsin.

EmGee · 09/10/2018 12:26

I love those shoes. So elegant.

Re Sarah and Andrew. I try to like her but I just get put off by all that adverse publicity - toe sucking, trying to sell a meeting with Andrew for 500k etc. Andrew - odious man, can’t stand him. Whoever upthread used the words ‘greedy, grasping, lacking in dignity’ etc - spot on.

That said, I don’t know them from Adam so I’m sure they are perfectly lovely in real life 😉

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 12:34

Fergie got roasted for being stung by the fake sheikh but what's the bet Andrew was in on it and would've happily taken the £500k?

OP posts:
UrsulaPandress · 09/10/2018 12:38

Are you sure The D of C isn't wearing tights?

susurration · 09/10/2018 12:42

I really like Kate's shoes.

gingercat02 · 09/10/2018 13:12

Camilla is only Eugenie's "aunt" because she married her uncle. They probably don't really have a relationship and I suppose Andrew, Fergie and Camilla aren't exactly friends. I'm sure everyone is happier that she doesn't attend

ajandjjmum · 09/10/2018 13:27

When Diana and Fergie were friends, and knew about Camilla's affair with Charles, they must have hated her. Maybe those feelings linger, and knowing she is not really wanted there, Camilla took the excuse available? You can imagine the Yorks around the breakfast table over the years, slagging off Camilla and Charles - with just cause!

serenmoon · 09/10/2018 13:32

Didn’t Andrew and Fergie jointly buy a ski chalet recently for some ridiculous amount of money? I think they are basically still together.

ajandjjmum · 09/10/2018 13:50

£12 million! Grin

MissLingoss · 09/10/2018 13:59

I've not seen a photo of Fergie recently so perhaps she's on a regime to get herself looking fab for the wedding.

I thought Fergie looked fab at Harry's wedding. Not afraid to let a few wrinkles show, but still attractive, appropriate outfit, smiling.

Why should Camilla reschedule? A prior engagement is a prior engagement, and should be honoured, doesn't matter if it's schoolchildren or VIPs.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 14:00

Diana and Fergie were friends but I've also read that Diana used to alert the press about Fergie and where they could get the most unflattering shots of her. Not sure she was much about the sisterhood, which is why I'm convinced she wouldn't have been the easiest of MiLs to deal with!

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 09/10/2018 14:12

I’ve said before that I think Diana would have been the MIL from hell. She wouldn’t have liked the competition.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 14:16

Hell no, she'd have been competing with Kate and Meghan for all she was worth! Strange to think that had she lived, she wouldn't even be 60 yet.

OP posts:
Minimammoth · 09/10/2018 14:25

I think Kate looks great in that colour.

thenightsky · 09/10/2018 15:58

I thought it was Sophie that got stung by the 'fake sheik' thing, not Fergie.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 16:10

It was both of them! Though I'll never understand how Sophie, with her years of working in PR, fell for it.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/10/2018 17:03

I agree about the 80s, of all the royal wedding dresses Diana and Fergie's have probably dated the most.

Actually, I think Fergie's dress hasn't dated too badly. If you took off a couple of bows and nipped in the waist, I think it would suit Eugenie nicely (although I'm really hoping for Vivienne Westwood).

And I'd really like to see the bridesmaids in copper coloured silk dupion given the season.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/10/2018 17:09

My favourite Royal wedding dresses are, Sarah Chatto, Mette-Marit (although WHY didn't she wear some bloody make up??) and I really loved Helen Windsor's as well.

Ooh, and have we seen this? Ironic...

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/10/2018 17:10

Actually. I just looked again at Fergie's wedding dress. You'd have to sort out those sleeves as well...

I'll get back to work...
