I agree Fergie is/was attractive. She was always compared unfavorably to Diana. The press were eager to ridicule her, comparing someone shorter against someone tall, someone with curves against someone without etc. It was all pointless. I liked her outspokenness and confidence and often think Kate could take a leaf out of her book.

Clionba · 08/10/2018 20:36

Fergie was celebrated, praised and flattered at first. She was regarded as a breath of air in the family, and celebrated for having curves. Unfortunately, she, (and Andy) became greedy and grasping. To a quite astonishing level. Then came the photos of her on holiday with Johnny Bryan. She could have played it differently and had a fantastic life. I'm not saying that the press weren't harsh or unfair at times, but I don't think Kate would be advised to copy her at all.

owlshooting · 08/10/2018 20:39

The trouble with Fergie and Andrew is neither of them is very bright, and they both lack taste and discernment. Fergie was vulgar. She has toned herself down a bit but still doesn't know the meaning of tact. Andrew is a free loading waste of space with dubious connections.

beanaseireann · 08/10/2018 20:40

Clionba I wholeheartedly agree re your post on Fergie.
She shot herself in the foot Grin excuse the pun- with the toe sucking palaver and Eugenie was only 2 at the time I think.
What must breakfast have been like in Balmoral the morning those photos were printed- she was staying there at the time I think.

Clionba · 08/10/2018 20:50

True. When Fergie's presented as a victim of the press, including by her daughters, it's really not the whole picture. She had it all, but was not prepared to act with circumspection, dignity or self control.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 21:15

She and Andrew are still very close and I've never heard of her having another partner. Not sure they'll ever remarry though, they seem happy to be co-parents.

Jackietheduck · 08/10/2018 21:15

Was she married to Andrew at the time of the toe scandal? I must google it. I was still in primary school at the time. Everything I know about her is what I read retrospectively.

beanaseireann · 08/10/2018 21:19

She's had other partners.
Can anyone do the links to DMail pictures if Fergie, Andrew and Beatrice riding in Windsor.
His face is a picture!
He must have just got the bill for the wedding Smile

Clionba · 08/10/2018 21:26

Yes, she was still married to Andy, and Johnny Bryan was not the first. When the pictures emerged the family were at Balmoral, and the Queen was devastated. That's why Philip feels cool towards Fergie. There is a lot more, but suffice to say she hasn't covered herself in glory.

Horsemad · 08/10/2018 21:27

Daily Express reckon Andrew & Fergie are getting back together after the wedding...

She has moved in with him recently, apparently. Must be true if it's in the Express! 😂

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 22:00

I thought she never moved out to begin with! Don't they still live together?

OP posts:
Horsemad · 08/10/2018 22:07

Hmm, that article says they divorced and she has since moved back in (doesn't say when!)
It does say they are to 'reunite'... Hmm

Make of that what you will! Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 22:13

Where do they live? Ken Pal?

OP posts:
Horsemad · 08/10/2018 22:17

Somewhere in Windsor, according to the Express.

ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 22:17

Royal Lodge, Windsor Park.

IIRC the papers arrived at Balmoral and Fergie wasn't allowed downstairs for breakfast. Her bags were packed and she was unceremoniously booted out, never to darken their door again.

Until

Now........

Horsemad · 08/10/2018 22:19

There does seem to have been a thaw towards her; I was surprised to see her at Harry & Meghan's wedding.

Cornwall73 · 08/10/2018 22:25

Oh how I love this thread, let me count the ways....Grin

Cornwall73 · 08/10/2018 22:27

That Spanish wedding was amazing but then again I wouldn’t expect anything less from anyone connected to the Duchess of Alba. Love the green dress. I also really like the feathers on the brides headdress too.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 07:39

Sophie and Edward are visiting the Baltic states. Her rose-pink coat is quite jaunty (Wickstead?) but he remains wedding to his unflattering double-breasted suits! Time for Charles to stage a fashion intervention?

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 09/10/2018 08:04

Whatever you say about Andrew & Fergie they seem to have co-parented very well. I read years ago that once Prince Philip dies they will get back together. Who knows!

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 09:01

True @IPromiseIWontBeNaughty, and Beatrice and Eugenie seem nice enough young women, if a bit immature and privileged, and there's never been anything scandalous about them. They've certainly never dressed as a Nazi or got their kit off in Vegas!

ajandjjmum · 09/10/2018 10:06

I read that Harry insisted that 'Aunt Sarah' was invited to his wedding - I suppose there was a time when they were small, and Diana and Fergie friends, that they spent quite a lot of time together.

From what I've also read, Fergie has had rooms at Andrew's homes, wherever they have been - maybe why their co-parenting of the girls has been such a success?

Jackietheduck · 09/10/2018 10:14

I wondered too if Sarah was invited at Harry!s insistence. He must be close to his cousins as he met previous girlfriends through them. Harry gives the impression of having a lot more backbone than his brother!

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 10:34

Fergie wasn't invited to William's wedding, was she? Maybe Harry, having been no angel in his youth, is more inclined to forgive and forget.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 09/10/2018 10:38

Apparently Diana and Fergie were good friends but fell out shortly before her death because she lent Fergie some shoes and Fergie said she'd got a verruca after she wore them!
