Agree with pp that the wedding is all about Andrew, "patron of this.... etc"
Will be amazing to have Andrea Bocelli there. I guess they were trying to top Meghan's gospel choir. However; I'd be interested to see how they manage to fit a Philharmonic orchestra in st George's chapel. Cake sounds yum (but I'm greedy!).

Pupsiecola · 08/10/2018 08:47

Camilla has a pre-existing harvest festival visit to a a school in Scotland planned.

SM was on Jeremy Vine. Surely not Jeremy Kyle as well?!

BlingLoving · 08/10/2018 09:07

I think the big wedding is fine - that's the private bit and is in line with what some of these celebs/high society types do usually. It's all the pomp that is embarrassing. The specially composed songs and poems and military parades and carriage rides. So unnecessary and doesn't make the York's or RF look good. Am a little surprised the queen hasn't made them dial it back, but then, as I said earlier, it's long been rumoured they are her favourite and she probably wants them to have the full princess thing.

Gonegrey31 · 08/10/2018 09:08

There were 2500 police officers on duty on May for H and M’s wedding . I imagine a similar number will also be on duty on Friday . Ridiculous cost to the tax payer.

Camilla has a pre-existing harvest festival visit to a school in Scotland. I think I would rather go to the wedding!

ajandjjmum · 08/10/2018 09:40

I can't help but feel that the school would have moved their Harvest Festival by one day, to accommodate Camilla - unless she is not that fussed about attending, for whatever reason.

Not like it's an international event, pre-planned, with people flying in from all over the world.

Wonder what the real reason is she's not attending.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 09:56

That's what I thought too. Apparently that house in Scotland is where Camilla spends most of her time.

Camilla just doesn't want to be at the wedding.
I agree with pp, the Yorks are very rich, they can have a big bash if they want, but all the royal pomp is a bit much.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/10/2018 11:39

Yes it's just basically a celebrity wedding, with Andrew insisting on the Royal Pomp.
No one wants to see Eugenie in a carriage. They could have kept it all inside Windsor castle walls, like they did for the Trump visit.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 12:36

The forecast for Friday's weather so far is grey but dry, so I suppose the success of the carriage ride will depend on that.

Random continental royal wedding alert. The bride looks lovely and the groom is very handsome, even if he does look like he got lost on the way to the Battle of Waterloo! The guests' outfits are a mix of elegance and WTF??

I came across a bit about that Spanish wedding on YouTube yesterday. That Duke of Alba family is interesting for a number of reasons, particularly that their surname is Fitz-James Stuart, traced back to being descendants of James II and VII.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 15:10

The old Duchess of Alba was quite a character!

UrsulaPandress · 08/10/2018 15:13

Wasn't she just!

UrsulaPandress · 08/10/2018 15:19

If I were in Camilla's shoes I'd far rather be listening to this to be honest

ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 15:28

Why does that song fat-shame marries and lettuce Hmm

Well, it's the countdown to Friday. How much Botox will Fergie be having this week?

ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 15:29

I love Sofia's wedding dress. Yes, the groom does look like he is on the run from Mr Darcy Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 15:59

Apparently Eugenie may wear the York tiara, which was made for Fergie in 1986 and a gift from the queen. Wonder why they didn't lend her one of the tiaras that had been in the family for years? Maybe they were worried she'd abscond with it! I've not seen a photo of Fergie recently so perhaps she's on a regime to get herself looking fab for the wedding.

megletthesecond · 08/10/2018 18:10

I hope Fergie is fabulous.
Does anyone know what time the guests start arriving?

GrumbleBumble · 08/10/2018 18:20

I love the bride's dress simple and elegant and the groom looks quite dashing (as long as that hat never went on his head). Love the green dress on the guest but the pink cape red doughnut on head combo is making my eyes bleed!

susurration · 08/10/2018 18:42

Fergus was on an engagement today www.instagram.com/p/BorSl_KFMAi/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=ykui1a02nwn She looks good at the moment.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 19:24

Not sure that's the best shot of her, but she's always been an attractive woman. She was just unfortunate to be compared constantly to Diana and be found wanting in the looks department. And the 80s fashions didn't help either.

OP posts:
ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 19:25

Nor her rather odd dresser.

ChicagoLil · 08/10/2018 19:27

FYI There is an extended This Morning edition on Friday starting from 9.30am. Eamonn and Ruth will be commentating.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/10/2018 19:41

I may have to watch with the sound off - Eamonn annoys me no end!
