Oh I love Pears soap too! Original Pears soap was rosemary, thyme and cedar apparently, and that figures, as it's definitely not sweet. I'd bet that there are some Tauers with those notes.

PP dupe= Perfume Parlour dupe.

Help..less than 2 hours to go to decide on a 9ml of 4160T Old Sport (half price til 4pm). A lavender fougere (sounds good) but I get a bit worried about coumarin. Has anyone smelt this?

Blah - it was 'til 4pm today, although it's still up on the website, alongside Sleep Knot and Sex Goddess. I caved - it's payday and it sounded v interesting.

I've just tried creating Sex Goddess (it's The Sexiest X Goddess of Love & Perfume). I may have completely the wrong ratio (I went roughly 50/50) but it's good! Might be worth trying Milady if you are a musk fan? Especially as it is a very bargainous £7.50 for 9mls (this week only).

Found you! I was worried there was no new thread. Hello Perfumistas 😘

I’ve been craving sweetness lately.
Been wearing lots of Manifesto L’Elixir (powdery vanilla, cashmere woods and lovely heliotrope), Sexiest Scent (wafting about in it as we speak) and YSL Cinema.

I’m having big gourmand cravings and have been window shopping on an American indie site (Solstice) which has such tempting gourmand perfume oils. Gorgeous, weirdo pudding-ey stuff like ‘blossom jam and tea cakes’, ‘rose custard kulfi’ and ‘violet mallow’

Alas, I am too broke for perfume shopping right now, especially with international shipping fees Angry.

Off to cosy up in Sexiest Scent and have a curry and some Wine. Happy Friday, all.

3TresTrois · 28/09/2018 17:56

Having said that, I might have just bought the half price 9ml of Sex Goddess ...and a sample of White Queen

MrsLucas · 28/09/2018 18:32

Rose custard kulfi sounds amazing!

I've definitely switched to autumn mode too. Had to be held off buying D&G The One Pour Homme Eau de Parfum and Acqua di Parma Colonia Sandalo the other day. Will probably sneak both into my collection next time I pass through an airport.

SOTD the last few days has been Stash SJP. I was on the verge of swapping/selling it because I didn't think it lasted on me but I had no less than four people tell me I smelled lovely today so I'm keeping it (shallow attention-seeker that I am on occasion). It is subtle on me, but it does have a very interesting delicate charred charcoaly woodchips thing going on, along with incense and pepper and something sweetly citrus that I can't identify. Cosy, is what it is.

Having previously eschewed sleb scents (apart from Liz Taylor Passion, which I have long loved) I think I've ended up with three interesting ones in Stash, PW Girl and Eau de Gaga. Any others worth a dip?

SOTD Kiehl’s Musk. I am not forgetting about your decant, mrsR, I just haven’t got round to it. God, I am glad it’s Friday.

I am so excited to find this thread but already know it’s going to be such a bad influence!

Have just placed a payday PP order because they have their Paris dupe back in stock and I’m currently on a nostalgia trip through memories of my mum’s 80s perfumes.

SOTD is PP version of Tom Ford Black Violets. I’ve persevered with this after not liking it initially because I thought it started out almost smelling antiseptic. Once it settles down though, it’s quite powdery, woody and masculine on me and I love it on chilly mornings.

MightyWombat, 80s nostalgia is a good place to be!

I am in bed, with a book and Opium.

Calmanddance · 28/09/2018 20:31

Plausible, I have a great deal of love for SJP Covet. It is definitely in my top ten perfumes. It is a citrussy lavender with chocolate notes, quite distinctive and works at all times of the year. Also, I am fond of Elizabeth Taylor’s Diamonds and Emeralds, a gardenia, tuberose and peach. Others on this thread really reckon her Diamonds and Rubies, but I don’t like it as much. However, I do like sweet perfumes (love Britney Spears’ Midnight Fantasy) so they may not be to your taste!

Ah yes, Calm, Covet I have tried and I do like it. Another very interesting composition. Less keen on the Pure Bloom flanker but the OG is definitely up my street. I've tried a few Britneys and didn't take to them... too sweet and fruity for me. The closest I got was Believe.

ET White Diamonds is next on my list! I am literally out of shelf space at the moment though, so something has to be used up before I can buy more... that's according to 'im indoors anyway.

auberginesrus · 28/09/2018 21:35

Evening all, lovely new thread! Have just had a pleasant hour or so catching up on what I have missed Smile

Treated myself to the H&M Formentera (very nice fig scent) and Garden (gorgeous green scent) this week. Previous to that have been wearing a lot of London 1969 and Next Eau Nude.

Tried Dior Joy (pleasant but uninspiring) and Givenchy Interdit (reminded me of Loulou but the dry down was quite nice!

3TresTrois · 28/09/2018 21:36

I love ET Passion, and all her ‘diamonds and jewels’ perfumes.

Rubies is my favourite. A deep, powdery, spicy floral. Emeralds is beautiful, too (if you like big, sunny florals). Sapphires is more mellow and the only perfume I can think of with a melon note I can wear.

Madonna - Truth or Dare
Sofia Vergara - Sofia
Both the Queen Latifah fragrances

  • all surprisingly wonderful

I’m partial to a couple of more frivolous, gourmand Britney and Jessica Simpson perfumes, but they’re not perfumista territory I’m guessing 😆

3TresTrois · 28/09/2018 21:37

(In Tart’s Knicker Drawer for bed...yum)
