never that jacket is fabulous, brilliant colour

SoyYo · 04/10/2018 14:56

Yeay never! If you look at the black one I’m wearing with the snake Marina you’ll see it’s not a tiny one either, that black jacket is quite knackered tbh I’ve worn it soo much over the last 4/5 years but it looks okay still and I can get a t and jumper underneath and STILL do it up (it’s a 14). Happy days!

SoyYo · 04/10/2018 15:02

laska that’s a lovely thought, I’m sure your friend would be so chuffed specially if she’s been unwell. I know it’s hard but it’ll warm your ❤️
Just mull it over to ensure you won’t regret it or the exercise becomes pointless x

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 15:18

I've had such body image issues all of my life (being a fat child with body critical parents didnt /and still doesnt help) , I've always thought that the one thing that would make me happy is the one thing I really cannot change and that is my body shape and my tendency to put on weight.. I can get thinnish, but cant easily maintain it . I've aways been known as the 'sturdy fatgirl' in our family ..

Dh on the other hand struggles put on weight , and is much smaller than me being 9.7st and just 5'5 (we tell him he is 5'6 but he isnt!) . he can eat anything ..Its very annoying.. if he wasn't so lovely id get even more annoyed! Grin

My dear friend used to be over 16st but she at first dieted and eventually lost 6st , but since then lost nearly 2st more more through being very ill. she is 5'8 and is really far too thin now really, but has at least stabilised ..

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 15:20

... even the ruddy cat can eat anything at the moment and stay skinny .. Angry but he is ill also

Ok childish rant over .. ill go get over myself..

neveradullmoment99 · 04/10/2018 15:30

@laska, I feel your pain. Was always known to be thin when I was younger and with a good figure in my 20's but always thought I looked fat especially after having my older children. Then I had a huge gap and had more children [with the same dh!!!]] and of course with each pregnancy the weight was on and off - hence the tummy. You may not have worked this out but I have 6 children in total. When I was young, I just couldn't put weight on and was always teased at college because I was very thin. Now, I find it hard to maintain and put weight on much easier and its soooo much harder to lose it now. I find that the 5:2 helps me maintain my weight and regulate it. I have had a bad few days for eating but know I can quickly shed anything by cutting out sugary things and having fast days. I love the flexibility. I'm so glad that I do it.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/10/2018 15:33

@Laska, love the marina skirts on you. You look fabulous and slim in them. I love the burgundy one. Its beautiful.
@cherries, those brogues are a gorgeous colour. Where are they from?

dontcallmelen · 04/10/2018 15:52

Laska you always look good in your pics, but I do think our childhood hangups & parents perceptions of us, last a lot longer than we ever realise, always an inner child in there somewhere.
never I salute you six dcs that takes some doing & again I thinks you rock the outfit pics you post.

ilovecherries · 04/10/2018 16:05

I’m back, having got my prospective client to sign on the dotted line. Grin. You’ve all been very chatty, I thought this was going to be a slow thread, but as usual, we’re surpassing ourselves.

The weight thing is interesting. I may have mentioned I’ve lost a lot of weight Hmm Wink. Creeping towards 6 stone now. I have always been convinced that the weight was the problem or issue. It was only 18 months ago that I started to realise the weight was actually a solution to a completely different problem. Although I’ve no doubt that LC helped fix the blood sugar spikes and cravings so I wasn’t sabotaging myself and battling constant hunger, the real change came about when I started to look in a different place for a solution to the real problem. Having done that LC provided a simple and effective tool.

Anyway, my shoes are from New Look, never. £22.99. They also had them in black patent and Matt black, which I may have as well. They are quite big made - these are a standard fit and I’m in my usual size, with plenty room for my orthotic.

ilovecherries · 04/10/2018 16:07

What size is your burgundy marina, laska. There is a 14 on eBay, but my current one is a 12, so I suspect it would be too big.

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 16:10

6 Dcs ! and you have maintained your sanity!! figure! Grin

5:2 as what i was doing when i got down to to 10st.. I have recently lost again through doing the LC bootcamp.. it would be better if i could keep off the Wine though

Here's to childhood hangups!! They are indeed always with us WineGin
DH is one of 4 brothers. His family are all lovely - I call them the 'Effing Waltons' and they know it! (that will out me if amyof them are here !! ) But he is the only brother or cousin under 5'.8'' and I know he does feel it sometimes.. However he doesn't show any signs of what is horribly known as 'short man syndrome' (I hate that term) .

Sometimes he asks me if I wouldn't like him to be a bit taller , but i tell him that he was that height when I met him, and when I married him , and I didn't seem to mind then!.. I was in a very rare thin phase when he met me (only 9st 7 myself) .. , but he has never criticised me even when I am not .. in fact when we married I was probably at my fattest (over 13st Sad) for some years.. My wedding photos are not pretty..

Len I do good 'breathing in' for photos!! Grin

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 16:12

Mine is 12 cherries.. but its an easy fit, I reckon 14 would be ok.. my black / white Sofia is a 14 and there not really any noticeable difference in fit

ilovecherries · 04/10/2018 16:16

I do wish they’d do the marina in more colours. Forest green, bright blue, navy...

ilovecherries · 04/10/2018 16:21

Oh, and my fly boots arrived from Amazon. Absolutely lovely and really comfy. I prefer them to the M&S ones I bought last week, and I think they will be better support. Have sent the brown back though, and ordered black now I know I will be keeping them. I’m quite looking forward to it being cold this winter, so I can wear lovely boots.

dontcallmelen · 04/10/2018 16:28

It’s funny isn’t it, as adults most of us feel as though we are meant to be confident in ourselves & dealt with our body hang ups a long time ago, but I think to some extent they can still raise themselves from our sub conscious at any age, I really struggle sometimes with being short & other times it doesn’t bother me, I have always been veering on the slight side, but when my parents died (within six months of each other) I lost a stone & have never been able to regain it, I think what I’m trying to say in a not very coherent way, is that most of us struggle with body image & how we & others perceive ourselves, it can be tough at times.

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 16:46

It isLen and of course it's easy to fixate on the physical things we really can change . .
Ok back to clothes ( I am always looking for the one which will bring out my inner princess! ) These aren't it , but here are the latest dyedAmies in with colour ( and not spilt Wine either, that will come later!).. still damp . But looking much darker .

Husheeta's count down to Christmas.. AW18 cont..
Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 16:47

Ruined my joke Hmm was supposed to be dyed wine colour not spilt .. Ah well....

dontcallmelen · 04/10/2018 16:47

Ooh liking those laska the dyeing process sounded a bit of a mission though.👍🏼

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 16:52

Oh FFS! That's supposed to say 'easy to fixate on the things we cannot change' .. I give up ! Pass the Wine, I need one right away..

ilovecherries · 04/10/2018 16:52

Oh, these are pretty. I have defiantly changed out of my work clothes and I’m wearing my striped Amies and my rock n roll tee. With no hair. Even the dog seems startled

dontcallmelen · 04/10/2018 16:54

😂 laska thought you had been at the vino already, sounds a very good look to me cherries

neveradullmoment99 · 04/10/2018 16:56

They look lovely laska. I really should do mine. The thought of dying in a bucket puts me off. [ not me ha ha ha...although work has been really stressfull this week]

neveradullmoment99 · 04/10/2018 16:59

..and thank bloody god its over and I am now off. I cannot wait until next Thursday and I am off for 11 days.

Laska5772 · 04/10/2018 17:00
