Had enough of seeing something repeated ad nauseam?

Want to offload when having tried to find good quality, stylish clothes you are instead met with a sea of shit? Epically garish, cheaply manufactured (without the corresponding price tag) and downright tired apply here.

I may be alone in having this need, but may I start by offering..... the rainbow jumper. How to take a perfectly useable piece of cloth and curse it to landfill in nanoseconds.....

Saves us money if we don't wish to buy anything. My dm couldn't find anything in Oxford Street nor could her friend or friend's daughter.

NotMadeByDesign · 21/09/2018 13:40

Oh dear I don’t think I’ll be well liked on here. The t shirt I’m currently wearing days ‘don’t be such a dickhead’ and it’s 3/4 sleeves. My jeans have(small) holes in them, they’re also meant to be mid rise skinnies but fall down past my waist, but I have a big bum so they just hover there, my converse are tattered and knackered... I don’t look Parisian, I look homeless apparently.

Bluelady · 21/09/2018 15:24

Personally I'd cast high heels into Room 101 too. They wreck your feet, throw your balance off kilter and very few people can walk in them.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 21/09/2018 21:03

LOVING the sperm dress.

Would look fantastic paired with the Boden vagina coat of old....

😄

You just know the designers were wetting themselves seeing if they could get that one into production.

Loving ALL the suggestions on this thread.

Keep em coming. I get the sense this is causing enormous cheer 😁

Today it is the turn of the corduroy suit.

Now I can see that as separates they could work (if the trousers are full length) but together they add stones and more than a hint of 1970s sofa for the wearer.

Great contraceptive though.... unless your partner has a geography teacher fetish....in which case get your beard on too.

Urgh that brown colour... regardless of whether it’s a corduroy suit or not, I don’t fancy walking around looking like a giant turd.

OlennasWimple · 21/09/2018 21:48

I love 3/4 length sleeves (I have bingo wings but beautiful wrists, so they work for me...)

No, no, no to cold shoulder tops, flamingo prints and mustard coloured stuff (with the caveat that mustard can look amazing on Afro-Caribbean skin, but makes most white people look slightly billious)

StorminaBcup · 21/09/2018 21:51

That hat Grin it's the lovechild of Reni and Noddy Holder's hats!

Thatstheendofmytether · 21/09/2018 22:06

Flare trousers (although I loved them when they were out when I was young) apparently they are a thing again.

Tops with any kind of slogan/picture on the front.

Cold shoulder tops, why is it I see I jumper I think oh that's nice, then I see the bloody holes at the top.

Bell sleeves, just no!

Shoulder pads, My shoulders are wide enough thanks!

High waster trousers/jeans/skirts. With the top tucked in. I just don't have the right shape for it!

Square toed shoes.

Waterfall cardigans, just don't see the point.

Bodycon dresses, again just don't have the right shape for it.

Fur gilets

Furry jackets

Pom poms on anything, shoes, bags etc.

Glitter.

Dolly shoes or whatever everyone else calls them 😂

DontCallMeCharlotte · 22/09/2018 22:33

Agree with PP re Joe Brown's. Everything is over designed. The opposite of Chanel: ready to go out? Make sure to add a pom pom.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 23/09/2018 10:13

Dear God, that 1970s brown... So dreary and flatters no one. My teens would say it's really Brexit Grin

Madbengalmum · 23/09/2018 10:40

Cold shoulder tops
Entire Joules range
Entire Hush range
Those hideous jersey strappy jumpsuit things everyone on here went on about from amazon that make you look like a nanna thats shat herself, and look like they cost 2p
Primark clothing range
Slogan anything
Polyester anything
Slashed,frayed skinnies

On the other hand I have to disagree with some and say, the right quality and patterned leopard print item can be classic. Mustard if not overdone can be nice for autumn, and there is a place for certain Golden goose trainers, though not all.

Madbengalmum · 23/09/2018 10:41

Oh and hideous Joe Browns stuff et all, my eyes!

KatharinaRosalie · 23/09/2018 13:03

Midi needs to go. Especially floral. Unless you're aiming for the Mrs Doubtfire look.

Anastassiabeaverhausen · 23/09/2018 13:37

I went shopping the other day looking for a smart, well fitted shirt. I couldn't find one anywhere. Most of the shops were shit, however Zara I was particularly appalled by.

These are from their 'mum' collection. Which are quite frankly offensive. I didn't realise being a mum meant wearing ill fitting, oversized clothes.
$99 for a giant Snoopy jumper anyone?

Mum collection Confused bet they're dry clean only too!

Dowser · 23/09/2018 23:19

Someone must be buying it

FloofyDoof · 24/09/2018 04:00

Rainbows, stripes, pinafore dresses, dungarees, basically everything monki sells. Naff, the lot of it. Overgrown toddler wear.

Also, I'm plus size. It's almost impossible to get decent plus sized clothes. Everything is made of nylon, crepe and chiffon, and is horribly patterned or covered in sodding butterflies. Bloody awful. I've taken to ordering virtually all my clothes from la redoute. At least I can get stuff in decent fabrics and nice shapes from there.

I agree with most of the stuff on this thread, though I do like a batwing, it's a flattering shape on me.

Bluelady · 24/09/2018 12:13

Some Monki's quite nice, ie their spots, stripes and block colours.
