Had enough of seeing something repeated ad nauseam?

Want to offload when having tried to find good quality, stylish clothes you are instead met with a sea of shit? Epically garish, cheaply manufactured (without the corresponding price tag) and downright tired apply here.

I may be alone in having this need, but may I start by offering..... the rainbow jumper. How to take a perfectly useable piece of cloth and curse it to landfill in nanoseconds.....

Stars isn't that a Hush thing shhh.. or the Hush thread will hear

littlebillie · 18/09/2018 22:19

Men in jjeggings and advice where to look or not to look.

littlebillie · 18/09/2018 22:24

A large supermarket clothing have a large selection of star, lightning and rainbow jumpers. I think the trend is over

LittleWingSoul · 18/09/2018 22:26

@littlebillie is the hush thread for real? I had a little look yesterday and thought it had to be a marketing tool as I find it very odd to call items by their style name. Eg 'I love the estelle in green, have you noticed the blue one on the website yet though?' like anyone regularly checks a clothes website to see what's new. And it's all just so meh anyway. I don't get it!

littlebillie · 18/09/2018 22:36

Some of their clothing Confused

littlebillie · 18/09/2018 22:38

I was tempted by a star jumper but they are in supermarkets now so less exclusive.

littlebillie · 18/09/2018 22:39

Are there really people who would buy this Balenciaga layered coat for over £6000?

StorminaBcup · 18/09/2018 23:35

How to ruin a perfectly good cashmere jumper..a bargain at £220 too. Paired with the two-stripe repeat offenders

Toffee1000 - do you they made the model do lunges?

I like how they clarify in the description that the seven-layer Balenciaga coat is for 'cold-climates'. Reminds me of Lenny & his scarf

Omg to that layered thing! As if you could ski in that anyway!

Be cheaper to just buy all the layers in ever increasing sizes.

Some ideas for ironic slogan t-shirts

- Meh

My then-teenager and I had inadvertently matching slogan tees a few years ago. Theirs said "meh" and mine said "No." I refuse to apologize for this.

I will jump on the hate for cold shoulder tops though. Also, I really hate floral prints. Especially daisies, daisy print anything makes me unreasonably angry.

I'd never heard of Hush until I joined MN and here it seems to have a cult following.

Elledorado · 19/09/2018 08:06

I resent giving them any more publicity however Hush is just about the styling and the marketing. 90% of ppl who buy anything from Hush realise that it is rubbish quality and/or looks very very VERY ordinary IRL.

GraceMarks · 19/09/2018 11:28

I'm going to probably upset a lot of people here, but I can't wait to see the back of skinnies.

When they first started coming back in 10 or so years ago, I can remember a lot of people complaining about yet another trend that only flattered thin people. Now, after years and years of having practically no other options when buying jeans, we all seem to have undergone some sort of collective delusion that skinny jeans are a style classic that looks good on everyone. Well, we were right the first time - they really are only truly flattering to people with slim legs. I think because they've been so ubiquitous we've all had to fool ourselves into embracing them. Whatever, I look forward to the end of the skinny tyranny some time soon!

VanGoghsDog · 19/09/2018 12:40

@GraceMarks

I bought my first skinny jeans a couple of weeks ago, I do like to let a trend settle before I commit....... :) They look OK, I'm not overweight and have reasonable legs, so I think they're alright, they are higher waisted though, I'd def not wear the ones that sit below your tum and pull down when you're leaning over.

I understand traditional style wedding dresses are "constructed" to accommodate breasts. They'd need cantilevers for mine.

@VanGoghsDog exactly, you're not overweight and you have decent legs, so they'll look nice on you. I, on the other hand, am overweight and have tree trunks for legs, so they look horrendous on me. Like I'm walking around on a pair of denim-clad parsnips.

I wouldn't have taken agin skinnies nearly so much as I had if they weren't so bloody ubiquitous. For years there has barely been any sort of fashionable alternative - I went into Topshop to look for jeans about five years ago and you could choose between skinny, super-skinny, cropped skinny, and jegging styles. It's not much better now but at least there are "mom" (horrible word) jeans as well these days.

I've still got three pairs of GAP curvys. I wash them carefully and look after them.

LittleWingSoul · 19/09/2018 19:42

I am loving the ubiquitous use of the word ubiquitous on this thread Grin

ThinkIveFoundYourMarbles · 19/09/2018 19:57

I'm stunned that in 2018 floral patterns are still so common on young women's clothing. Somebody mentioned Joe Browns. They're one of the worst offenders.
