70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2018 20:26

Yes, I KNOW you don't want to think about it , but mark your place , its something like 105 days.

I'm wracking my brains for my list .
Plan to carry on my usual ones:

Hair dye
Hair cut
Korean Italy cloth scrubbing every week.

I plan to kick start myself with StopTober . I don't smoke or drink but I do give up sweets/cakes/biscuits for October , until I can eat the leftover Hallowe'en sweets .

So, anyone up for this phenomenal annual event ?

Hopefully it won't just be a queue of 'one' person
Xmas Grin

Me please!

I need to get my shit together, and the timing of this is perfect, 70.

Hair dye and cut
Eat more healthily
Stoptober (and hopefully drop a few pounds)
Back to a more thorough skin care routine
General tlc

Starting now!

cloudtree · 13/09/2018 08:42

I sign up for this every time and never see it through but I'm willing to try again.

I was botoxed yesterday for the first time in nearly a year and so that should get me started. Plus I had my hair dyed at the weekend (although I'm not very pleased with it)

cloudtree · 13/09/2018 08:44

Starting my list with:

Keep up with Huel for lunch each day to ensure my nutrition is good
Take make up off every night (I'm rubbish at this)
start using retinol cream again
one beauty thing per night during my 1 hour in front of the tv slot.

princessbear80 · 13/09/2018 10:33

I’m in! Definitely need stoptober as my sweet treat snacking has reached another level. Having hair cut/coloured on Saturday. Will think of other extra things I can do, to include food, skincare, and exercise, which shouldn’t be too tricky. My hardest thing is hair, I need to get into a routine to style it. It’s cut and coloured regularly, and washed every other day, but usually just ends up in a very scruffy/fluffy ponytail.

BiddyPop · 13/09/2018 10:49

I need to get my act in gear as well. I've really let myself slide recently...

Facial (first in over a year) booked for next week.
Haircuts booked last week until Christmas (cut in Oct, cut and possible colour early Dec)

I need to get back walking - DD has scouts tonight so I'll walk the pier at that time.
I need to get back to proper skincare regime at home too.

And minding my nails - they are nice and long for a change, so I need to shape them well, and then keep them nice.

I started eating my salads for lunch again last week.
Stoptober may be a good way to cut alcohol and treats.

cloudtree · 13/09/2018 10:54

I am lucky in that I work from home and so Ive just:

Put olaplex in my hair which I will wash out this evening
Liquid gold on my face
ameliorate cream on my chest which is definitely the part of me showing signs of ageing.

Also downloaded a free trial of Headspace - I have used it before and need to get back into the habit.

lisam78 · 13/09/2018 20:26

Count me in too! I turn the big 4-0 tomorrow, and this seems like a good time to start taking a bit more care of myself.

  1. Keep on top of maintenance (haircut/colour/Do own nails and facials etc)
  2. Keep exercising, even when I can't be bothered.
  3. Eat better, cut out the rubbish! After the party though!
EthelThePiratesDaughter · 13/09/2018 20:29

Me please!

Snipples · 13/09/2018 20:31

Yes I'll join. I'm back to work in Jan after my mat leave so want to be in a decent state for then.

Need to do regular face packs as skin is dry
Stoptober will be a good detox
Am streamlining wardrobe and then want to get new work clothes

What is the Italian/ Korean face cloth?

TheGateauIsInTheChateau · 13/09/2018 20:31

Oh... I’m game!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/09/2018 20:49

What is the Italian/ Korean face cloth?

They're for the body Snippies , too harsh for the face but brilliant on knees, legs, bums, backs , feet .

Like a little scrubby cloth in a pouch , fits over the hand and just buff Grin . Need a 30 minutes hot soak first.

I’m in, it’s my 30th just before and we are going away to the Dominican Republic so want to feel good for my holiday!

I’m 1 week down on quitting smoking

I have my hair cut and coloured next week, so whilst I will get it done again before I go I need to commit to at least a weekly hair treatment.

Make sure I cleanse and use moisturiser every night, I do it every morning religiously but pretty awful at night!

Exfoliate face weekly at least and body few times a week too, along with a moisturiser.

Must get my feet sorted Blush manicures and pedicures are just so expensive here but need to just bite the bullet.

Also really want to loose 7lb. I have a tremendously sweet tooth so finding this really hard!

CurbsideProphet · 13/09/2018 21:11

I'm in Smile

I'm going for realistic (for me) goals:

Keeping my nails nice (even if just shaped and clear polish) to show off my engagement ring (recently engaged Smile )

I've booked my hair cuts to take me up to Christmas.

Keep using My Fitness Pal to keep an eye on my snacking etc to continue losing some weight / toning up.

At least one gym class and one yoga every week.

Stop keeping clothes "for best"!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/09/2018 21:18

Me me me! I love a bit of princessing! Plus, this year I’ve massively changed my lifestyle- I’ve been running, I’ve lost 2.5 stone, and I’m feeling a bit like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis. I need some pampering!

PurpleNailVarnish · 13/09/2018 21:20

Waves to 70

I'm in. At least, I'll do my best.
I'll think about my own list, for now I'm watching with interest.

holycityzoo · 13/09/2018 21:28

Yes please!
I rejoined slimming world last week and lost 5.5lbs in my first week.
I need to get my Botox done, take care of my skin and massively up my water intake.

SassitudeandSparkle · 13/09/2018 21:33

I'll join to lose weight. We need to change our diet slightly for DH anyway so I'm hoping it works for me too.

8FencingWire · 13/09/2018 21:55

Hello, thank you 70, long time no see!
I’m in!

I restarted pilates (once a week) and running (3 times/week) , so the plan is to continue with that, but what I’d REALLY want to do is to finish one darn Shred for once!!!

I’ve just had a haircut, I’ll book another one for end of nov-beginning of december.

I’ve started a korean ‘regime’: toner, serum and moisturiser, need more discipline to do it twice a day, as opposed to mainly mornings.
I’ve also got Nanolash treatment, it’s been a bit hit and miss.

So the big plan is to do my evening routine way before bed, by the time I exercised/cooked/eaten/tidied etc, I just want to collapse in bed, all I manage is to brush my teeth, wash my face and I’m gone.

Yy to korean exfoliating cloths, they’re amazing, got 5 for £5 on amazon, I’ve been using those religiously.

Must get better at mousturising my body now it’s colder.

So:
Hot water with lemon in the morning
Shred every other morning.
Shower/moisturise/make up/get dressed
Breakfast
Vitamins (especially vit D3)
No snacking in between meal, one treat with coffee at 4 pm.

Evenings
Running 3 times a week
No food after 8 pm
Skincare routine once I finished exercising.

Weekly: face masks and pilates.

I’ll try and report every day.

Today I went to pilates, I must squeeze a run in tomorrow (when?!!!!) Off to do my skin routine.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/09/2018 08:29

I was all set to do the post-summer Footner this weekend, but then saw the weather this morning- looks like the south will get some sunshine next week (brought by the tail end of a tropical storm!) so I might not be wearing my winter boots as soon as I thought.
We are on a cruise in the first week of October so until then I am dieting carefully, no alcohol, continuing running but I might throw in some Jillian Michaels too. I also need to decide on my dresses and learn to walk in my new heels!

cloudtree · 14/09/2018 08:44

Checking in for day 2

Last night I actually remembered to take my make up off before bed. And then used the midnight recovery I bought on impulse on a plane 6 months ago and have used twice. Plus my eyelash grower stuff.

This morning I have cleansed and applied a hyaluronic acid serum. Won't put any make up on for another hour or so.

Just remembered I have some Footner in a drawer. might do that this evening.

OwlService · 14/09/2018 11:08

Does getting up at seven, to allow time for hair straightening, instead of rocking the scarecrow look, count?

If so, big tick for day one Smile.

321cheese · 14/09/2018 12:02

Hi all. This sounds fun.

adds tiara polish to Amazon cart

Work Christmas party 1 has been set up for late November. I'd like to look a bit more polished by then.

My plan:

  • Do nails once a week
  • Use body scrub once a week
  • Exercise 4 days a week min for 30 mins
  • Start ironing clothes
  • Cook all meals unless out with friends or travelling with work.
  • Condense wardrobe
princessbear80 · 14/09/2018 21:56

cloudtree and anyone else who uses retinol, what do you use? I’ve got the Garden of Wisdom in a drawer ready to use but nervous about a reaction.

Started my princessing tonight with a full body exfoliate and moisturiser, which I normally don’t bother with. Sorted my feet with my Newton’s chiropody sponge. Plus painted fingers nails and toe nails. Hair appointment in the morning. Haven’t made this much effort in donkeys years!

PurpleNailVarnish · 14/09/2018 23:23

Today I put a face mask on and did the full face care routine.
Then I took care over my makeup and I blow dried and styled my hair properly.
I'd chosen my outfit last night, rather than just pulling something out of the wardrobe.

This evening I did 40 minutes of power yoga plus 20 minutes of gentle yoga.
After a shower I applied body moisturiser.
I took my makeup off properly and did the skincare routine again and I've applied leave in conditioner to my hair for the night.

I have a manicure and pedicure every 4 weeks so that doesn't need extra attention at the moment.

I'm wondering about Botox/fillers, I've got away with it until now but I think the time is here, I have some allergies so I'll have an initial consultation and see whether it's appropriate for me.

I'll need to have my hair trimmed in November/December and I'm looking at my winter clothes and wondering what I need to add to update my wardrobe.

Additionally I need to find a dress or two for Christmas black tie dos, rather than leaving shoppers for them to the last minute like I usually do.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/09/2018 00:31

Jings its 102 days now Xmas Shock

I culled some clothes last week and put my 'keepers' in the arric.

I bought a purple cardigan , out of my normal comfort zone but I'm trying to be adventurous.

Did a session on the treadmill at the gym after being out and about this morning .

Tomorrow:
hairmask
facemask
change my earrings - that's one for my list : wear all my jewellery in rotation not just keep a pair in because I cba changing them.
I can't wear rings at work except my wedding ring, no watch, no nail varnish. So on a Friday I put rings on .

I do drink loads of water , I read in a magazine to 'bookend' the day with a pint first thing/last thing. Don't think my bladder would thank me for a pint of water and a huge mug of coffee for breakfast but I always have a couple of pints at night .

Still making deals with myself for StopTober Grin . No sweets, chocolate ,cakes, biscuits. Do I add crisps? Or just sweet things. Licorice? Halva? It's only a month ......
