Christmas Princessing 2018.....who's in?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2018 20:26

Yes, I KNOW you don't want to think about it , but mark your place , its something like 105 days.

I'm wracking my brains for my list .
Plan to carry on my usual ones:

Hair dye
Hair cut
Korean Italy cloth scrubbing every week.

I plan to kick start myself with StopTober . I don't smoke or drink but I do give up sweets/cakes/biscuits for October , until I can eat the leftover Hallowe'en sweets .

So, anyone up for this phenomenal annual event ?

Hopefully it won't just be a queue of 'one' person
Xmas Grin

I'm still trying to maintain everything I started before my holiday

Loose weight
Drink water
Moisturise body
Skin care routine
Nails - was hoping to buy another bourjois 1 second nail varnish this weekend in a nude colour as I love the formula and ease of application

I also did a wardrobe reorganisation yesterday and put away my summer clothes in to a suitcase for next year

mmmgoats · 22/10/2018 12:27

Today started well - ran 5km and power walked another two.
Just hoping I can keep up the motivation for the whole week!
Going to invest in a new cream cleanser today and hair is booked for friday.

Those who are getting Botox consultations, have they been helpful/decided you on going ahead?

Helpmepleasenow48 · 22/10/2018 13:06

Joining a bit late. I'm not needing to cut down on much, but I do need to drink more water. My wardrobe has been culled and I've got my outfits sorted.
Chiropodist has been booked.
I'm going to top up my tooth whitening bleach just before my first Christmas do . - 11 November!
I do a lot of exercise so for me it's going to be trying to do more yoga and relax!!!
I'm going to see a nurse who does botox and fillers - that is something I've been considering...

BiddyPop · 22/10/2018 15:29

Alcohol is not abolished, but much reduced.
Still making my breakfast smoothies and lunch salads most days.
Making an effort to walk more.

And to keep my nails as nice as possible - even if I am not painting them at the moment.

Remembering my facial scrub, serum, and moisturizer more often than not.

Hairdresser is rearranged for 2 weeks time instead of tonight (he's kinda busy), but my pre-Christmas appointment is already booked in.

I was happy with how I looked at an event this weekend - my "good" black dress, new black heels (an Italian brand I like, but an evening pair involving lace, that I got on sale but will use for years) and nice(even if very hastily applied) makeup, red lippie does wonders!! Gave me enough of a confidence boost to stand up and give my speech for the guest of honour.

Now I just need to keep losing a few more pounds and fit back into more of my "nice" dresses...

CurbsideProphet · 22/10/2018 16:52

I've slacked off a bit on the exercise front Blush

I'm going to a wedding at the end of this week and have booked to get my nails done, plus to have my makeup done on the morning to give me extra confidence Smile

greatbighillofhope · 22/10/2018 23:44

I need this!
I am pretty good with my normal skincare/body care routine and had my hair done this weekend.
But I have put masses of weight on over the last couple of years so need to lose at least 2.5 stone to get back to my comfortable weight. I want to do it in a sustainable, being kind to myself, kind of way, not torturing myself with food I can’t have all the time.
So my commitments are;
intermittent fasting 18:6 (I actually find this very easy once I’m in the routine, god only knows why I ever stop doing it)
No dairy (recently realised this is aggravating my psoriasis) and general clean eating
No alcohol except at weekends
Yoga class at least twice a week, plus extra at home
And try to work fewer hours

lifebeginz · 23/10/2018 08:54

The last few nights I have laid in the bath looking at the moisturiser thinking....I'll do it tomorrow night..... By that time of the day I just can't be assed....Just want to bath and sleep but I need to get scrubbing and moisturising! Send me some motivation! I have been doing my walk and yoga in the Mornings though. Trying to make "me time" everyday too.....putting an hour (sometimes less) aside to read a book, brownse pinterest for inspo etc without feeling guilty/like I am wasting time. Keeping on top of my nails and hair apps booked until Christmas. I do need to tone up a bit so following a girl on insta who posts her home workouts (she is a PT) and going to try and follow 3xper week

SuzeD29 · 24/10/2018 15:05

I've been keeping up with running twice a week and not binging on choc at night- so far have lost 12lb which I'm really happy about.

Need to start doing yoga and daily stretches to sort out my shocking posture and constant back and neck ache.

mmmgoats · 25/10/2018 08:29

12lb is amazing well done @suzed29 do you have much more to go or are you done weight loss wise now? Sounds like you’ve got into a good routine.

I’ve been running twice this week and did a strength workout yesterday, running again today. Think I might incorporate pilates into my routine as well and I’m going to enquire about spinning at the gym ... god help me.

Have been good as moisturising and doing a proper skincare routine, and am getting my hair coloured and cut tomorrow which I cant wait for.
Considering getting one of those halo extensions once my colour is done as well, as my hair is so fine and thin now.

SuzeD29 · 25/10/2018 10:50

@mmmgoats I've got another 10kg to go as I'm quite short. I did half hour of yoga this morning. It's small changes 😊

greatbighillofhope · 28/10/2018 23:17

Quietly pleased with myself this week.
Body brushing most days, coffee body scrub, eye brow dye and shape, double cleanse most days plus exfoliation and double masks at the weekend, Epsom salts baths x 2, two yoga classes followed by sauna, and ended the week with a lovely country walk today.
I’ve also eaten very clean (absolutely loads of veg) and fasted every day til 6pm and lost 7 lbs- yay!
This coming week will be the test though- over the last few years I have lost and gained back this same 7lbs again and again. This will be the week I keep on losing!! Yes it will!
This week I’m also planning on colouring my hair and getting a massage and giving myself a good pedicure.

lolacola13 · 29/10/2018 19:29

Loving this thread!! Really good to read my actual thought processes and that other people do this too lol. I am 16 weeks pregnant with my third , work part time and study at uni im in my final six months ...and trying to hard to keep ME up there with all the things I need to do . Any pregnant / new mums out there any tips? Xoxoxox

pouraglasshalffull · 29/10/2018 21:12

Hi I'm new to this thread as this is my first year being on MN!

I need to
-up my intake of water
-sort my brows out

  • cut and dye hair
  • start using my gym membership Sad
  • eat healthier

Overall I want to lose 4 stone. I weight bang on 14 stone and I would like to get back down to 10. I'd be happy if a stone came off before Xmas and work on the remainder after

MarmaladeTeepee · 01/11/2018 08:16

Can I join? Ultimate goal is to be a stone lighter by Christmas (3 stone to lose in total).

Mini goals:

  • drink 2 litres of water a day
  • stick to proper skincare routine rather than usual half-arsed affair
  • apply gradual tanner moisturiser every other evening
  • face scrub every other day, face mask once a week
  • keep on top of body hair rather than using winter as an excuse to morph into a yeti
  • run three times a week
  • follow Paul McKenna's 4 rules of 'I can make you thin'
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/11/2018 20:41

So, tomorrow is 50 Days , so we're nearly half way.

I have scoffed a few of the Hallowe'en sweets but been fairly good. I'm not going to undo all my good work of Stoptober but it is strict .

I did a hair mask yesterday (Bleach London ) my hair is all soft now . I'm planning to have a light trim before Christmas , going through the pain-in-the-buttocks that is growing out . Once I can tie it back it'll be easier then the aim is to grow into an unlayered bob.

Did my eyebrows with the 3 Day tint

I've started on my Nuxe shower gel , it smells gorgeous . Got some of the oil for when I have the inclination.

Tonight can be file+cream+socks to convince my feet I care about them Grin

You just reminded me to get booked in with a hairdresser ASAP to grab a pre Xmas appointment. Trying to be super kind to hair as currently preggers and it's shedding more than usual no bleach for me just doing a blended root tint on my already quite blonde hair . Must buy some eyebrow tint. Trying to be thrifty aswell and use up all the half used and not opened beauty products in my drawer I found glam glow masks and pixi glow tonic toner ! Makes me feel pampered and no spend! Recommend going through cupboard and drawers ladies to see what you have . Gives h the inspiration to use it lol xoxoxo

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/11/2018 18:56

Bouncing back into thread......ah the shops are into full blown Christmas mode now.

I bought myself a jumper in H&M (£10 , I;ve been eyeing jumpers for a while , this one is a cable knit front .IIrC it was £17 originally )
Also ordered a Nuxe perfume from M&S (20% off)

My scalp was as irritated as heck, I used the BodyShop Ginger again to calm it , seems to have worked (thankfully). Its not moisturising enough even with the conditioner so I don't like using it.
I bought some new shampoo/conditioner from Superdrug to try, I'm going to let my scalp settle before I use my dye.

Woke up today with achey muscles but I did Christmas shopping AND went to the gym Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/11/2018 00:52

30 Days to go Xmas Shock

My scalp is much better with the new shampoo ( Superdrug brand trichology or something) .
My poor nails are splitting though (cold weather and handwashing)

My hand was hovering over a Superdrug Wash In/Was Out red dye , DD reminded me just how cack my last attempt was (in my defence it was mahogany ) my hair went purple-y and I had to rescue it with Vit C overdose.

My skin is suffering with the cold now too , I bought a balm cleanser so I'm going to try it before bed .

Onwards and upwards

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/11/2018 23:13

Tomorrow is 25 days. (and the last day of November)

I haven't bought myself a Beauty Advent so I'm going to secretly lurk on the M&S thread Xmas Grin

I might buy myself a few bits for the winter months (some good handcream is top of my list)

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/12/2018 00:08

okay , it's 17 days to go.

Hope everyone is bearing up. Xmas Grin

I have dyed my hair now (still in a wrap with conditioner to wear overnight so I won't know how it looks till tomorrow)
I;m having it cut (trimmed , I'm trying to grow it) next week.

I've ordered some of the M&S Radience Peel .

I have the worst stomach cramps right now , been since Wednesday night so I think its something doing the rounds. Just cramp, nothing more sinister . Still a flipping nuisance though

Need to do some depilating with the legs/armpits and a Korean Italian Cloth scrub , keeping up the good work!

OP posts:
SassitudeandSparkle · 08/12/2018 00:14

I think my main aim was to lose weight as we had to change our diet to accommodate DH. He's lost loads of weight. Me, not so much Grin

Still a few weeks left yet, need to dye my eyelashes this weekend and varnish my nails.

Hope the stomach cramps are nothing serious, OP, seems to be a few bugs going round at the moment.

Strongbeatsskinny · 08/12/2018 07:24

Well since September I’ve lost 5kg water intake always at least 3 litres a day.

Had highlights plus haircut last week. I have nails done regularly and brows are fresh will go again before Christmas. Brows are also done won’t need doing again until new year.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/12/2018 14:29

On the home straight now , 11 Days Xmas Grin

I was going to buy a huge bottle of shampoo , but thought "No, you have enough to re stock Boots" and put ot back Halo

Used the M&S Radience Peel last week - Oooh smooth skin !

Busy week at work next week but have a day off for shopping/cleaning /having hair done.

(Need to wax the 'tasche though )

OP posts:
Eesha · 16/12/2018 23:44

placemarking, someone mentioned Olaplex, does this really work? So expensive but my hairdresser recommended it and I thought would help with the old princess routine!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/12/2018 22:12

OK, the final few hours to make a difference.

What is do-able?

I really CBA dyeing my hair again , I will just ignore the greys (I might need a darker colour I think, my light goldeny brown does fade quickly but I don't want to go too dark)

I bought myself a new bra , some Korres showergel and some hair oil.
Tomorrow will call for a nice soaky bath and a face pack.
