Yes, I KNOW you don't want to think about it , but mark your place , its something like 105 days.

I'm wracking my brains for my list .
Plan to carry on my usual ones:

Hair dye
Hair cut
Korean Italy cloth scrubbing every week.

I plan to kick start myself with StopTober . I don't smoke or drink but I do give up sweets/cakes/biscuits for October , until I can eat the leftover Hallowe'en sweets .

So, anyone up for this phenomenal annual event ?

Hopefully it won't just be a queue of 'one' person
Xmas Grin

I had a good (ish) day yesterday. My 14th day on the trot with no alcohol. I’d been feeling better and sleeping better, but last night actually did not have a great night’s sleep (blame Dh snoring, he did have a drink) and have woken up stuffy and grouchy.

Yesterday I ran 7km and did 30 minutes of fitness blenders workout too, in an attempt to slim my tummy area a little. As I have had quite good results from dieting this year, but my post 3 babies stomach is still quite a pooch, especially if I eat a lot!

I ate well yesterday but didn’t calorie count, and ended up having some dark chocolate in the evening, so have woken with a headache.

Feeling decidedly unprincessy after all that.

Today: currently drinking a pint of water. Going for a run this morning, then family party for my fil at lunchtime. It’s a bbq, so easy to low carb. I won’t be drinking, and will try to resist cake/pudding.

I'm up for a bit of princessing!

Got a plan for the hair with my hairdresser, but just need to get the colour sorted. Doing the Vit C lightening trick this weekend to see if it makes any difference so I can start again!

Started double cleansing and moisturising at night a few weeks ago, and my skin is looking great. Also have regular eyebrow waxing and tinting appointments sorted so that really helps makes my face look normal Grin

Use body oil for moisture after exfoliating every shower. Love the Palmers oil.

Got the diet in order (2 and a half stone down with Slimming World) and want 2 more off before Christmas. Need to build in some exercise though! Going to start with 20 minute walks at lunchtime in work I think and then try to fit in a home based workout 2/3 nights a week once the DC are in bed. All recommendations welcomed for something quick and effective for a lumbering newbie!

My feet look grand after regular trips to the podiatrist and nightly moisturising. Don't really use polish during the winter, but plenty of polishes if I need them!

Just need to get my hands and finger nails sorted. Love the idea upthread of doing them in front of the tv (also have a 1 hour window), so need to build that in.

Have I missed anything? Oh clothes! God knows. Hoping I'll fit into something I already own, but haven't had on in a long time, come Christmas!!

Good luck everyone. We will be polished and 'put together' by the Christmas do!

Liskee YouTube is your friend here. I just search for ab workouts, legs workouts etc. Fitness blenders are very good. Great variety and it keeps me motivated.

Carriemac · 15/09/2018 09:50

I’m in , halfway through stoptober and 4 lbs down. Need to look after feet and handsaw, and am considering profhilo - anyone tried it?

PurpleCurtains · 15/09/2018 10:13

Me! I want to join.

My main thing at the moment is toning up a little, but other things I am trying to do is fix my lashes after some falsies pulled them out so starting on the revitalash today. Has anyone else used it and how long did it take to work? I feel so terrible with my lashes in their current state.

My other aim for now (starting small!) is to get back into the habit of a weekly Olaplex treatment. My hair was so much better for it, but I've been bad at doing it of late

PurpleCurtains · 15/09/2018 10:14

I'm trying not to spend more money on clothes atm, but thinking more about accessories as well ...

nancybelle · 15/09/2018 10:21

Can I join too? Have been slacking over the summer and mistreating hair and body.

I have started skin peels again and will get my Botox booked for a few weeks time. I read this week that Kim Kardashian’s leaves olaplex in overnight so am gong to put some on this morning and leave it a good 10 hours before washing off . If it’s good enough for Kim k it’s good enough for me.

Will book in for a keratin treatment next month and do all 3 olaplex stages at home in between times.

My feet are in a state of decline so will give them a soak and do a foot peel. Think there is a fake footner lurking in a drawer.

I was reading about the Korean wash cloths on here last night so have ordered some of them. I hate having baths but might be worth the sacrifice to shed some skin.

I am a total sloth so will also try to build in sessions on my power plate and bought a boogie bounce trampoline so will give that a go while trying to avoid black eyes and groin strain.

Gorgeous here I come. 2018 has been a bit of a lost year but the prep for 2019 being my year starts now 💪🏻😀

Looking forward to reading everyone’s plans for more inspiration.

PurpleCurtains · 15/09/2018 10:26

I'm glad to see Olaplex still used here. I really like it but the last two hairdressers I've been to have told me it's crap. Yet, it works for me. My hair becomes so nice and flat.

Onehellofaride · 15/09/2018 10:29

I’m in! Will be back later with my list!

nancybelle · 15/09/2018 10:43

@PurpleCurtains my hairdresser doesn’t use it but I take my own in and they add it to the keratin and bleach. Makes such a difference to my hair.

IggyAce · 15/09/2018 12:42

I’m in, need to arrange a hair cut, I’ve decided to be brave and not dye my hair so come December it will be over 7 months. I need to do weekly deep conditioning treatments.
I’ve booked a facial and massage and I have regular brow shape and tint appointments. I just need to sort out my daily skin care.
Need to drink more water.
Walk to and from work at least 2-3 times a week.
Also going to stop sweets, chocolate and biscuits for October.

cloudtree · 15/09/2018 15:17

Olaplaex definitely works with my hair but the effect does seem to diminish over time. The first time I used it my hair was super swishy. Now it helps to strengthen it but I don't get the super swishiness anymore. I always put it on my hair first thing in the morning on a sunday and leave it in all day with my hair tied up in a plait. I don't take it out until the evening.

LeavingTheSandBehind · 15/09/2018 15:32

Oh perfect timing! I am in bath with a deep conditioning treatment on my hair. I really need this thread. I turned 40 in the summer and my skin and hair have suddenly decided they are not happy. I am doing well looking after my nails and doing more of a skin care routine. I need a facial and hair cut once I get paid.

Looking forward to this now!

WindDoesNotBreakTheBendyTree · 15/09/2018 15:37

102 days?
Ok, psyche myself up today
prep tomorrow
100 days of action. Will do at least 1 thing for wellbeing per day.
Will read through the thread for inspo
Any suggestions for winterproofing skin and haircare?

Gah81 · 15/09/2018 15:40

I am in! Marking place for now. Think main thing for me is more glamorous lounge wear - I used to laze around in my vintage silk kimonos but have got out of the habit. I could also do with some teeth whitening and face masks :)

BusySittingDown · 15/09/2018 15:52

Ooh, I’m in please!

I don’t smoke or drink but I could cut sugar for October for definite.

I really need to look after my hands as they get really dry and cracked over winter. I need to keep putting cream and Vaseline on my hands.

HelloViroids · 15/09/2018 15:56

I’m in - my mental health is horrendous atm and some self care will definitely help. Just done a face mask and filed my nails Smile

Need to start with small achievable goals - 2l of water a day for the week starting on Mon is my first target!

Gah81 · 15/09/2018 16:14

Oooh, drinking more water is a good one. I shall add it to my list!

Thistle72 · 15/09/2018 16:15

I’m in!!! I’ve lurked around for ages but I’m feeling it’s time for a change for me too. Had a lot on moving house, looking after new born puppies, daughter going to uni.
I need to look after myself more.
I have made a start I have monthly facials and pedicures also get my hair cut and coloured regularly.
I’ve fell off the healthy eating and exercise wagon and need to get back on it. Hopefully you lot will help me to stay focused!!! Wink
@ Gah81 like the sound of your vintage kimonos, I’d like some glamorous lounge wear- I tend to wear my oversized dog walking joggers that make me look as fat as I feel Hmm

mononoaware1907 · 15/09/2018 17:46

-Get a shorter haircut
-Dye my hair a bit darker
-Lose approx 10lbs
-Gym membership for 6 months

cabininthewoods2016 · 15/09/2018 18:10

Count me in too.

Follow the thread each year but don't actually do any improvements. In a customer facing role now so need to look at least presentable at work BUT only part time hours now so no excuse.

  1. Lose some weight. 3st is needed but I will aim for 14lbs by Christmas.
  2. Drink more water.
  3. Use a facial moisturiser every morning.
  4. Sort out feet!
cloudtree · 15/09/2018 18:37

RE the retinol question upthread I use tazarotene (internet purchase) once a week and then I use a bio retinoid moisturiser daily but I don't really know what I'm doing and there are whole threads dedicated to it which have all the info.

cloudtree · 15/09/2018 18:40

I think actually my daily moisturiser isn't even a retinol product (Ren Bio Retinoid anti ageing) so you do need to be careful and do your research.

ShadyLady53 · 15/09/2018 20:45

Count me in! I have really let myself go over the past few years and have gained a lot of weight (and a double chin!). I joined Slimming World a few weeks ago but have cheated a lot and only lost 2lbs. I’m single and want to meet Mr Right as I turn 35 in February and really want children of my own. This thread is pretty inspiring and I’ve already got lots of tips!

My plan;

  • Lose a Stone by Christmas by sticking to a healthy diet and exercising 5 x per week.

  • Improve posture by doing Yoga regularly.

  • Hair - wear it down and styled more often and colour it for the first time in years. My hair has always been extremely long (between knee length and several inches past my waist). I took the huge step of donating a lot of it to the Little Princess Trust today. It was just touching the top of my bum and I’ve had around 10 inches cut off, leaving it at mid-back/bra strap length. It had been completely unmanageable and I mostly wore it up in elaborate updo’s everyday but everyone told me not to cut it as it was “Princess Hair”. I already LOVE the shorter length and want to maintain it or maybe have a couple of more inches taken off as I’m loving how swishy and manageable it is now. It look so much healthier and I wish I’d chopped it off years ago. I’ve styled it with Babyliss Big Hair this evening and it looks so polished, glam and neat. I’m going to book another trim in for by the end of November (I usually only have it trimmed twice a year!) and I’m also going to do a Lush Caca on it next week. Going for a mix of Noir and Marron. I am NEVER going back to the Rapunzel length again 😂.

  • Nails - keep them short, manicured and polished. I almost never file or polish them. I might look into home gel polish as my polish always chips! I plan on doing toes and fingernails and will keep handcream by my bed.

  • Skincare - I’ve recently discovered Vichy Hyalauronic Acid and Idealia Nuit and Pixi Glow Tonic. My skin has never looked better so I am going to keep on top of this and also do a weekly face mask on nails night.

I think that’s it for now but I will keep checking on here for more ideas!

PurpleCurtains · 16/09/2018 00:41

Ug I woke up with half my eyelashes on one eye gone and not getting them refilled until Thursday. Bloody extensions. Any tips to make me look less rediculous in the meantime? I’m day two of revitalash
