70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2018 20:26

Yes, I KNOW you don't want to think about it , but mark your place , its something like 105 days.

I'm wracking my brains for my list .
Plan to carry on my usual ones:

Hair dye
Hair cut
Korean Italy cloth scrubbing every week.

I plan to kick start myself with StopTober . I don't smoke or drink but I do give up sweets/cakes/biscuits for October , until I can eat the leftover Hallowe'en sweets .

So, anyone up for this phenomenal annual event ?

Hopefully it won't just be a queue of 'one' person
Xmas Grin

Love this thread! Thanks to the posters here, I overhauled my beauty regime and I’m loving the results! So far:

  • Weekly Korean Italy cloth scrub. My skin is so much smoother!
  • AM and PM The Ordinary skincare routine
  • 7 Skins routine (though I’m only doing 3)
  • Daily facial SPF (I daren’t skip this step due to the ingredients in my skincare)
  • Weekly hair and scalp mask (Espa pink hair mud)
  • Daily foot cream (CCS)
  • 3 x week Jillian Michaels Slim 60 app programme

This week I aim to:

  • use Slimfast meal replacement to kick start weight loss (again!)
  • go for walks on my lunch break
  • Dye Hair
  • sort out my nails! Any recommendations for a cheap oil/ cuticle oil?
Walkersjalapeno · 30/09/2018 12:16

And another to-do for my list... look into supplements.
Any recommended resources? So much conflicting advice out there.

ShadyLady53 · 30/09/2018 15:38

Walkers, it can be expensive but I’d highly recommend getting a private blood test done to check what you are deficient in...I used medichecks and found out for example that my ferritin is horrendously low, Vitamin D is good and B12 is WAY too high. It means the supplements I’d bought and stocked up on are useless because Iron is mixed with Calcium (so I won’t absorb it) and I don’t need B12.

Centrum was recommended by a family member and my GP. I used to use expensive women’s vitamins from the US. Solgar are very good too.

I didn't dye my hair , I was co-erced into dyeing DD hair Hmm

I had a couple of boxes of Superdrug which was a bit too dark for me (its a 6.0 , I;m onto 7.73 at the moment , don't I sound techy Grin )

So I made her do Patch Test & Strand Test .
Then spent ages covering her locks in dye.

Mine is still sadly grey-ish. I did a Vit C olour removal a couple of weeks ago so I'm letting it settle before I dye it (that's my excuse)

YY , the Korean Italian cloths are amazing but I hate the 30 minute bath beforehand .

As of tomorrow , October 1st , starts StopTober .
I prepared myself with some M&S nougat (delicious) so I can hit the month with resolve .

Lol I was also coerced into dyeing my Mum’s hair yesterday. She’s delighted with it! Saved her £25 and did a better job than the colourist at the salon according to her and my father!

Princessing going well. Bought the Sally Hansen top coat and Elegant Touch spray this afternoon so going to paint my nails a nice colour this evening. Also bought some nice new trousers and a red wrap dress but need to lose weight ASAP. I’m in between a 10 and a 12 but very matronly and I hate it. I’m very lumpy and bumpy, the biggest I’ve been - although I have lost a few pounds this month.

For October I want to,

Exercise 5 x a week (a mix of Yoga, Shred and Skating I think).

Lose half a stone.

Start exfoliating and moisturising my body.

I’ve discovered, thanks to Debenhams horrendous mirrors, that I now have loads of awful cellulite. Any tips for what on Earth I can do? It’s really upset me seeing myself looking so wobbly and horrid. Has anyone managed to get rid of cellulite?

On the plus side, I’m still loving my new haircut and the colour is really lovely too.

Liskee · 30/09/2018 21:40

@70isaLimitNotaTarget how did you do the Vit C hair dye lightening? Tried it with the fizzy tablets last week and it was like a sherbet bomb had gone off in the sink!! Am I using the wrong thing?!

No exercise done yet. Slimming world diet going well though. Still losing steadily, eyebrows are amazeballs (according to the young thing in the salon) and my skin is well exfoliated and moisturised! No bloody exercise though. As Bridget would say Must do Better.

Thinking of stopping the nighttime snack treats for Stoptober. It's not like I'm a big sweet, crisp and chocolate eater, but it would be a good kickstarter to getting rid of sugar....will see how I feel at 8pm tomorrow night Grin

In summary, have lost a bit of weight, but I'm still wobbly!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/10/2018 19:34

I bought some Waitrose Vit C (because I was in there Grin ) crushed up about 25 (might have been 30) and mixed with some of DS Superdrug Head&Shoulders type shampoo.
Left it on a couple of hours, not impressed at first until the next day when I washed and dried my hair....back to brown.

There's a thread I put my photos on, (they are 100% untouched )
I'll try and find it.

Bumped it "Home Hair Dye"

My hair didn't frizzle up and fallout (thankfully)

I'm in - need to lose half a stone and generally sort myself out!

IggyAce · 02/10/2018 14:54

Checking in, I’ve kept my new routine of exfoliating and hair treatment during my Sunday morning shower.
Full cleanse tone and moisturise twice a day, I need to do a face mask this week.
Will give my nails some attention this week and I’ve remembered hand cream each night so they are looking good.
I’ve started no cake, chocolate, biscuits or crisps for October. I’m hoping it will improve my diet and lose a few lbs.
Still need to improve on drinking more water and exercise.

BiddyPop · 05/10/2018 10:43

This week's efforts -
Started taking a multi-vit
Visited chiropodist so my feet are now nice and soft with no thick wodge of dead, hard skin
Broke 4 nails (between the chaos of the last Cubs boating session and winter weather setting in)...

I am off on a work trip on Sunday, and have time to myself on Sunday night. So I plan to bring the doings of a manicure, facial and deep hair conditioning treatment in my suitcase.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/10/2018 14:03

I found some nice new jeggings in the wardrobe and thought "Oh I'll wear them" , really pleased .

I have a couple of things to recycle.

I am still ploughing on with StopTober .

Need to buy myself some boring basics (anti-perspirant , toothpaste sort of things)

Got a couple of layering vests so I can wear some tops that are a bit too sheer otherwise.

Might manage to dye my hair if I get DD to help with the back.

OP posts:
Gah81 · 06/10/2018 19:19

Pretty good on princessing so far. Chiropodist sponge and Korean Italy cloth once or twice a week. Drinking more water and eating more veg, while cutting down on alcohol . Have lost some weight and just under an inch off my waist!

About to do some pilates before enjoying a relaxing evening in.

BiddyPop · 08/10/2018 07:18

I gave myself a facial and a deep conditioning treatment on my hair last night while I was bored in a hotel on a work trip. (And shaved).

Also remembered to get some fruit in the airport rather than just chocolate for snacking. And a large bottle of water to drink in the hotel.

I intend walking lots today to the conference and around it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/10/2018 19:25

I have been an angel Halo with my No Sweets/Cakes/Chocolate/Biscuits .

I've had a spoonful of peanut butter (Skippy Crunchy) when I want something sweet.

Did my Korean Cloth scrub last week, skin still smooth Xmas Grin

I need to de-foliate myself, I'm looking for an epilator to replace my old one , might get one tomorrow.

I was eyeing up some make-up brushes today , half of my brain said "Treat yourself" the other half (the logical half) said "You never wear make-up, you don't need brushes "

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/10/2018 23:07

Pah, tried and failed to find a nice jumper, I knew what I wanted , but only found ones that were " Nice colour but too short and boxy" or "Nice jumper but horrible shade of green" so came away empty handed . Not meant to be , obvs,

Cannot dye my hair , my scalp has decided to flare up and be really irritated ( blames stress) it;ll settle in a day or so, I'll do it then.

I was this close *>

Late to the party, can I still join in?? I have a six month old and seriously need to get my act together before Christmas! Will thibk of my list...

movinonup · 14/10/2018 21:48

I'd like to join in. I'm princessing in honour of my birthday on 21st December.
I was horrified at my recent holiday photos,I've gotten really chubby (I knew this, none of my size 12/14 trousers fit and I had to buy size 16 holiday clothes, Still it was a shock seeing the photos)

I'm 7 days in on a low carb/high fat diet, Have lost 8lbs! Yay!

I have ordered a massive lot of Elemis products from qvc, And plan on making sure I do my a.m and p.m skincare routine.

A combination of depression and health issues mean that I can sometimes let myself go days without a shower, Well no more of that nonsense!

I have treated myself to two lovely new perfumes and I plan on wearing them every day (not simultaneously) :)

I'm having a mini manicure and facial on Thursday evening.

I would like to workout but I'm not ready for the gym.....Does anyone use Amazon prime for at home workouts? I'm looking for more strength training than cardio, Something low impact.

movinonup · 14/10/2018 21:50

Oh and I'm booked in with the smoking cessation nurse this week, I really want to stop smoking.

Losgann · 15/10/2018 10:11

Ok my list:

Lose at least 10lbs by Christmas
Keep up with regular haircuts
Sort out my skin which seems to be going through some sort of hormonal horror show at the moment
Keep my nails looking nice using my shellac kit
Keep on top of shaving/grooming
Cut down on sugar and carbs
10k steps a day
Drink more water and less caffeine

BiddyPop · 15/10/2018 10:15

Had a “big blue” lush bath last night to relax my muscles.

Filed my nails into shape after breaking one on a boat [grr]

Am down the last 2 weeks on the weigh in - 1.5 pounds altogether but on top of a few more a few weeks back.

And I have my breakfast berries smoothie made for the week and my salad for today and tomorrow’s lunches.

Facial booked. For lunchtime today, hairdresser to be rearranged from next Monday (diary clash).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/10/2018 15:24

OK, it's now 66 days .

I am still StopTobering , went out with DD today and declined to go for something sweet. Had coffee and crisps though .

My hair has gone beyond the stage of driving me barmy to just looking a bit meh . I'm going to ignore it till December then have it tidied and shaped . The plan is still to grow it out to short bob.

I'm using a bottle of Nuxe body oil that was kicking about forever till I took it on holiday and loved the smell. Found it again and decided this will go on my To-Do List.

I'm inspired to do a hair condition mask, face mask and bath tonight then Korean Cloth scrub. (And it'll get rid of some of the random tat in the bathroom that has one dose left in the bottle ) Grin

Can I join? This all sounds great!

I’ve been steadily losing weight since last year although I’ve reached the dreaded plateau now - keep losing and gaining the same two pounds!

So far I’ve been running five days a week, plus doing weights workouts and lots of walking. My hair is a hideous state but this thread inspired me to book an appointment which is happening in a week. I also considering one of those halo hair extension pieces as mine is so fine and thin now and I long to be swishy.

Thanks to reading this thread last night I did my nails (only primark cheapies til I can afford to get them done properly), body brushed and exfoliated - I always use Sanctuary moisturiser every day. I buffed my feet and smothered them in cream.

I’ve been using smoothies at night - like frownies but clear so not as mad looking - as I’m trying to save off the Botox for another year and have been surprised to find they have softened my forehead lines.

Going out to get a pair of decent fitting jeans today and have a look at jumpers -they’re all so boxy and baggy and don’t seem to suit me at all! I feel loads better in myself already but I’m in the middle of a hormonal breakout on my chin so any tips gladly received!

Tonight I’m going to do my Elemis enzyme peel and give myself a pedicure I think...

Gah81 · 21/10/2018 20:21

Checking in. Currently doing a Clarins face mask after exfoliating in the bath and doing the chiropodist sponge thing.

Weight-wise, have lost 1.5 inches off my waist (sadly causing lots of problems with my high-waisted skirts) and nearly all my double chin. At 55kg and 5ft7 think I will now try to maintain.

My skin is smoother than it has ever been and the yoga is paying off in terms of less back ache and waist-whittling :)

CountryCob · 22/10/2018 00:00

Hello all

I am in, getting nails done tomorrow and hair appointments booked to Christmas. Got two beauty advent calendars! Excited about that as never done one before. Going to try to drop the cakes and biscuits but that is a big ask as with work and lots of animals and a toddler to be honest I rely on a sugar boost a bit. Main thing for me is to prioritise looking after myself too and try to avoid hands chapping too much! Not a fan of the winter months as they produce a lot of work but going to try to keep glam! Also booking in twice annual Botox soon to avoid frown. And getting Christmas presents bought and wrapped so not harassed close to the time, that is when I start looking and feeling bad I think
